“Best pupusas this side of the border. What I love about this place is that I never gotta ask for more salsa, generous portions. Great side street parking, we got really lucky to leave a conference early and stumbled upon this whole in the wall gem ?“

“My friend and I are gluten free and this was a great find today. I do want to note we are not celiac just allergy. I had a corn (regular) bean and cheese pupusa while she tried the rice masa pupusa with spinach, onions and cheese. We both really liked our hoices and the cabbage salad. We also got a cheese tamale - note these are not like Mexican tamales but a much softer texture. We also got an order of platanos. The owners were so friendly and got to chat and learned that Jorge opened the restaurant in 2006 so they have been around a very long time. Highly recommend and we will return.“

“My family was in the mood for Central American food and after a quick google search I found this small hole in the wall restaurant.Glad I came here the food was delicious. The pepperoni popusas were bomb and cheesy (a lot of places skimp out on the cheese not here) . The garnachas were also good an order gets you 8!!!. Good bang for your buck. Will be coming back for breakfast.“

“AMAZING pupusas, they’re even great reheating them the next day. And such lovely ladies working at this stand! Always a fun and lighthearted vibe, definitely worth checking out! There can be a small wait since they’re so popular, but you can call ahead to order if you’re in a rush.“

“Not a single bad thing to say. Was visiting from east coast and had breakfast there twice. Carlos, Maria and Darwin are kind and welcoming. The food speaks for itself. The breakfast burritos, aguas frescas and home made pastries were 10/10. Highly recommended and will definitely come back if whenever in LA :)“

“todos sus platos son exquisitos lo único que no me gustó es ver que la señora como le gritó a sus trabajadoras deberían de tener más cuidado en eso por que es feo ir a comer y ver como les gritan“

“Our first time here and the food was great! The pupusas were tasty and were really stuff with chicharron and cheese.
Also, the quesadilla was so good. It was served warm at the table just missing the coffee.
We will definitely we back“

“If you are craving authentic, comforting, and deeply flavorful Salvadoran cuisine, Puerto de Acajutla Restaurant is an absolute must-visit gem! I had a wonderful dining experience here. The standout feature is definitely their pupusas—they are made fresh to order, served piping hot, and have the perfect balance of a crispy exterior and a savory, rich filling. The curtido and salsa on the side are fresh and complement the meal beautifully. They also offer fantastic seafood dishes and traditional plates that showcase the true culinary heritage of El Salvador. The atmosphere is warm, casual, and incredibly welcoming, making you feel right at home the moment you walk through the door. The service is friendly, attentive, and efficient. A top-tier spot for a satisfying, high-quality meal. I highly recommend checking it out“

“The food is good and decently priced.I like the fact that you can get Salvadorian dishes or Mexican.Since it's located in a lower-income area, the atmosphere is not even mid-tier.Don't let that discourage you.I enjoyed the chilaquiles with a side popusa.“

“This a great place for pupusas.I had both a loroco and a revuelta pupusa. The loroco was very cheesy and had a very nice light veggie taste from the blossoms. The revuelta was full of flavor and not overly salty. The cortiodo had a nice bite to it and a pleasant balance between the herbs and vinegar.I also had a tamale de elote, it tasted very fresh. It came with crema and beans, and was a nice finish to my lunch.I think they make their own tamarindo Agua fresca - it had a nice tartness without being overly sweet.“
“I absolutely love eating at Vicki’s Restaurant in South Gate! If you’re craving authentic Salvadoran food, this is the spot.
My go-to order is the pupusas revueltas — they’re always perfectly stuffed, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served with fresh curtido and salsa that taste homemade. You can tell everything is made with care.
Their pastelitos de pollo are another favorite — flaky, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. And the pan con pollo? So good. The chicken is tender, well-seasoned, and the sandwich is stacked with fresh toppings that bring everything together.
The food tastes traditional and comforting, like something straight from a family kitchen. The portions are generous, and the flavors are always consistent.
Highly recommend if you’re in South Gate and want real Salvadoran comfort food!“
“Small restaurant. When coming here I enjoy getting their pupusas for take out. Very rarely eat in.They mostly speak Spanish so for me there's a little bit of a language issue. I guess on a fundamental level they are good with customer service. For their patients mostly and for not rejecting me and/or some other negative experience.Would I go again? Yes for spontaneous urge for pupusas.Would I recommend? Yes, I Encourage at least a few visits. To draw own personal feel. Support small business that has great pupusas, plus potential good food.“

“The fact that everyone who rates the place less than a 5 star because of service and not food tells you everything you need to know. THE FOOD IS GOOD! Ive never had a problem with their service. They've always been polite and no nonsense. Ive eaten there ( small place) and also ordered it for take out. So , I recommend this place for their excellent, authentic food.“

“I stopped by El Cielo in Gardena and had a great experience. I got the enchiladas plate, with chicken inside with a side of rice and beans, and everything was flavorful and satisfying. It’s a solid spot for a delicious, no-fuss meal if you’re in the area! Definitely check it out. Awesome hole in the wall.“

“We were in the mood for pupusas and this place hit the spot. The pupusas that had cheese looked a bit greasy but they were still delicious. Rice and beans were okay, just wished they would of sold us some tortillas on the side but they said they couldn’t do that.“

“Best pupusas ever. I’ve also tried their sopa de gallina, pan con pollo and yuca con chícharron which have all been excellent. Our go to is the pupusas revueltas grandes which will be a little bigger, have more filling and are so cheesy! We accompany our pupusas with the plate of Platanos con frijol y queso and a large ensalada drink, hits the spot every time. Everything is made to order so you might wait a while but it’s definitely worth it.“

“1st time here. Chose it for their 4.5 rating and "A" Food Inspection rating. The curtido was a bit spicy but enjoyable. Pupusas had a toasty outside and enough cheese. Empanadas de platano were great and half the price of other places. Horchata had a pleasant flavor. I would return“

“Well, first advice, bring cash because they charge for using a card the food is delicious, the prices are good, the customer service is good, 4 stars, very nice decoration, you have to order in front, ok, not at the tables, it's strange for my name, they wanted to serve me at the tables, I ordered in front and They charged me Hai himself then notice that the others were fine ?“
