“Stopped by this cute shop on 11/10 after seeing the big trees. I bought a hot apple cider and a strudel both were so delicious!! They weren't selling any doughnuts it was already 2PM. Unfortunately, when we were waiting in line there was a rude customer that wanted doughnuts. If they're out of doughnuts try something else there's no reason to be rude to the employees there.“

Gossamer Cellars Winery
419 Main St, Murphys

“The BEST winery in Murphy’s! We were brand new to the wine tasting experience and this was the first shop we walked into… initially we thought we had made the wrong choice… the space is overwhelming with loads of photos and is dark when it’s so light outside. But WOW! What an experience, they love their wine and rightly so. Not pretentiously but wonderfully. It was a real joy to be in their company and to learn about their wines. We went to other tastings on other days but none lived up to the fun and experience that was Gossamer. Amazing, please visit x“

Vina Moda Winery
147 Main St, Murphys

“Vina Moda is a great little boutique winery that is nestled in downtown Murphys California on a street with multiple winery tasting rooms. Red wines are the expertise here, and the winemaker makes quite a few big heavy reds that stand out. There's plenty of awards displayed showing his success and the ambience is a feeling of a castle like atmosphere with deep dark undertones. The tasting room personnel are very knowledgeable and give great service, letting you try flights of wines or just specific ones. This is by far one of my favorite wine makers in the Calaveras County area and I enjoy all of his wines.“

“We arrived on Sunday afternoon a few days before the Fourth and it was crowded. Employees were very friendly. Lots of seating outside. My husband and I ordered sandwiches with broccoli salad. It was good, but needed more mayonnaise or something. We tried a few beers, which were pretty good.“

Locke Vineyards Winery
949 Green Meadow Ct, Murphys

“At the recommendation of some friends, we just tried a flight of wines during a weekday visit to Murphy's. Come to find out, we just missed wine festival crowds by one day (thank goodness). The staff there we're extremely friendly and we shared some info & recommendations with them from our own wine region (in the Paso Robles area). Our flight consisted of a Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rose', Zinfandel, Cabernet and a red blend. The whites were light & refreshing (and I'm usually not a fan of Chardonnay). The rose' was also refreshing, not too sweet or too dry. Being big fans of Zin, we definitely liked their offering. My husband's favorite was their blend, the Giant Sequoia. They also had a number of lavender products (I took home a few bath bombs to try), as well as a swag section with vintage signs and other rustic decor items. We really enjoyed our tasting and we will return!!“

Ironstone Vineyards Wineries
1894 6 Mile Rd, Murphys

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting this establishment in the company of friends, accompanied by our group of four children, all under the age of ten. I must express my admiration for the remarkable beauty of this locale. The gardens, adorned with a splendid array of flowers and ferns, left a lasting impression. Furthermore, the Museum and jewelry shop within the premises added to the overall charm of the experience.Notably, our visit was graced by the presence of a friendly black cat, which graciously permitted my children to enjoy the simple pleasure of petting. The selection of wines offered was not only delightful but also reasonably priced, enhancing the overall enjoyment of our visit.I eagerly anticipate the prospect of returning to this establishment next year, as this experience has left me with a deep sense of appreciation for the enchanting ambiance and offerings it provides.“

“We had a party of 18 ppl and we called last minute to see if they could accommodate us and they happily did so. We had such a great time and the wines were very nice. Nick was our server and he was very knowledgeable about the wines as well as funny; he gave us a good time. The atmosphere was also very clean, modern, and beautiful which made it even more enjoyable. Plus it was a chilly day but their patio heaters along with the wine kept us nice and warm.“
