“Some of the freshest Sushi, Sashimi and Nigiri around, I legit drive 45min to an 1 hr 10 min depending on traffic just to eat here. All you can eat but its not your typical all you can eat. I love the white fish Sashimi and the Spicy Tuna Salad.“

We ordered in person to go and the order didn't take too long, a little less than 10 minutes I think.“

The meat wasn't all gnarly either, which is always a concern when ordering beef.One thing to keep in mind is that their menu in not that big.They did say that they've been open for about 4 months or so. “The store itself felt a little empty decoration wise. They had one waitress working, but she was very attentive. Each table had tablets(ours lost charge) where you could order everything. It's great especially if you are introverted or indecisive and need extra time. If you prefer, they do also have regular menus. The food itself was amazing. “My husband was craving Teppanyaki so we came to Yamato on a Saturday night and it was pretty crowded but since we really just wanted the food and didn’t necessarily want to see the “show” we were seated pretty quickly at a nice spacious booth. The servers were very friendly and attentive. We got the hibachi steak and shrimp and the hibachi steak and scallops which were both delicious. The fried rice was extremely flavorful and the portions are generous. The side of veggies was absolutely amazing. The price point is also very good. Some teppanyaki restaurants are extremely overpriced and Yamato is priced fairly especially for how much food you get. The atmosphere is fun and lively and perfect for celebrating birthdays, graduations, etc.

Chef Danny is a true artist. We had front-row seats to his craft and were mesmerized watching him turn simple ingredients into edible masterpieces. Every slice, every plate--pure precision and passion.

We shared a bento box with mixed tempura, mixed sushi, and sashimi, and were blown away by the variety and balance. The Heart Attack (fried jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and topped with spicy tuna) was absolute fire--bold, indulgent, and perfectly crispy.

The Toro and salmon were melt-in-your-mouth perfection--fresh, buttery, and honestly some of the best I've had anywhere in L.A.

Our server, Samantha, was fantastic--warm, attentive, and clearly knew the menu well. She made great recommendations and timed everything perfectly.

This place is a sushi lover's dream, without the pretense or the inflated prices of trendy spots. The prices are really affordable and the quality top notch. I have paid a lot more for so much less elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and sit at the bar--watch the magic happen, savor every bite, and thank me later.

“I ate at SanSai in Chatsworth today . I had miso soup, salmon plate with brown rice and steamed veggies. The food was excellent. The restaurant was very clean. The owners are friendly and hard working to make sure every customer is happy and satisfied. They have a wide variety of food. They also have Sushi which is very popular. They also do take out orders and large orders for take out for parties and any event. I strongly suggest you try this restaurant. You will not be disappointed!“

“I ate here yesterday (06/13/2025>11:35am) and really enjoyed the food—it was delicious! However, I was a bit disappointed with the service. The waitress seemed upset and not in the mood to engage. I understand that everyone has bad days, and we never really know what someone might be going through. Still, as a customer, it's always nice to be greeted with a smile—even a small or polite one makes a big difference. A warm welcome really helps set the tone for a good dining experience.

I have been here three times now and it does not disappoint! There are two menus, the full menu the restaurant offers and a paper menu for ordering sushi. I love the sushi and sashimi they have.
