“Not a big fan of sitting on the side of street where people walk by and you intake that fumes coming from all these traffic. Got to sit inside by the bar, the food here is okay, but a bit pricey for what it's worth. Been to many affordable to very expensive sushi places in the U.S. and in Asia, this place is more IG/social media friendly picturesque place than an actual sushi/sashimi place. Not much nigiri/sashimi choices. Not a big fan of places that sell pre-made canned alcohol with an extreme markup.“

“I went to the Tonchin location in New York late last year, so I came into the Los Angeles location excited and with high expectations. The food was good overall. My wife did not quite understand the hype around it, but I personally thought it was solid, even though it did not stand out as much as the New York location.
Where the difference between the two locations stood out the most was in customer service. We had to wait nearly twenty minutes just to receive the check, and throughout the meal the server rarely came by to check on us. Because of this, the overall experience at the Los Angeles location fell short of what I experienced in New York.
I do recommend the regular tonkotsu ramen and the buns“

“I'm always looking for a new sushi spots in the valley. This looks like a staple and his highly rated. I haven't got a chance to explore everything fully, but they're tuna tataki is amazing, so is their baked salmon and their tuna on crispy rice. It's kind of hard to get a seat if you don't make a reservation, and that's the only thing I don't love, but completely understand.“

“Uchi is pretty decent. The vibe is cool trendy. Service was polite but felt bit rushed and not as personable.
Food-wise, nothing was terrible, but not mind blowing either. A couple of dishes were tasty, a couple were bland, the sushi rice is left to be desired.
Prices felt a bit high for an experience that screams ‘it’s fine. Not in huge rush to be back.“

“Eating at Jade Beverly Hills was a really nice experience. The staff was quick to get us seated, however it was a Wednesday evening so there were a handful of open tables. Food was amazing including the A5 Wagyu Beef Tartare and hand rolls! We also splurged and got the dessert even though we were pretty full with dinner. We got the strawberry meringue dessert which was a standout to finish off our meal!“

“Delicous handrolls and nigiri. Loved the wagyu potstickers. We did the IZAKAYA FEAST and it was wonderful. Good sake selection as well. Service was bad. We had someone with severe allergies and every single plate that was served to her they added the green onions. It was tough to watch as we made her allergies very clear.“

“I really love this place! Cocktails menu is amazing, the Lychee Mojito 10/10, always a must for me.
Place was packed, of course it was a Friday night and the Lakers were playing, I recommend making s reservation.
Despite how busy the place was, out server David took care of us, great service and delicious food!“

“5 stars for the delicious and high quality sushi. plus i have a gluten allergy and the chef/ server was super considerate and knew exactly what needed to be modified. my favorites were the bluefin tuna nigiri and the yellowtail hand roll (with soy paper), and i don’t typically like yellowtail.
however, i did not realize there was a 16% service fee included in the bill. it says so on the menu so that’s my oversight but at kazu nori, for example, the server tells you not to tip because of the service fee. so on the little screen i tipped 20% on top of the 16% service fee and tax. it’s my bad for not paying closer attention but they don’t verbally tell you either.“

“Great service and food💗 There are many alcohol menus and food items that other restaurants do not have, and the restaurant is not too big, so you can enjoy a relaxing, calm and stylish time. There is plenty of space for parking, and I would definitely go back‼︎“

“The food and service was beyond amazing. The sushi was so fresh and melts in your mouth. Every single thing we ordered came fast and did not disappoint. The lychee martini was sublime and not too sweet, the seaweed salad was also a hidden gem. Overall experience and atmosphere 10/10. Will definitely be coming here again!!“

“The best dining experience I’ve had in recent months 👏 Staff were amazing and so friendly—special shoutout to Darren (our bartender), Robby (sushi chef), Chris, and Cornell, they were simply the best.
Food was incredible, the vibe was great, and huge respect to the chefs working hard on Valentine’s Day❤️“

“We ordered the Volcano Roll, the Shrimp Tempura Crunch, and the Spicy Tuna Tempura. We didn’t care for the Spicy Tuna Tempura roll, and when we let our waitress know, she was very understanding and took it off the bill. The service overall was great. The restaurant is small but cute, and we would definitely return.“

“Sachi has changed hands a few times now, we were frequenters of the OG. What we appreciate is the level of quality of the sushi remains. Wagyu perfectly lightly seared, toro melt in your mouth, and that great Hokkaido uni like butter. We tacked on the amaebi after knowing we're in good hands. Loving the late night hours as we're night owls and happy to see them do a special menu for Pride. Be back soon!“

“Great for a quick bite to eat. I bought 2 Classic and 1 Californian($22 total). I was gonna try to eat all 3 throughout my work shift, but stuck in 101 traffic back to the valley, they were devoured before I made it to universal city. There's so many flavors to try too. I found a metered Parking across the street, I had 25cents on me.“

“The restaurant was very nice, the bathrooms were very clean. The server was very nice and made great recommendations. The food was really good, there was a huge variety of different textures. The soy sauce, taro, and uni was the best I've ever had and mixed drinks were super good. I would definitely recommend trying it at least once.“

“Good Japanese foods , many varieties of dishes . The fish grilled sea bass is cooked just perfectly fine . The salad is kinda american Japanese fusion but still good . The carbonara noodle - I don’t really care (It doesn’t really fit with the rest of the dishes) - overall is a great place to enjoy Japanese foods“

“5 stars isn’t enough for Daichan. The food was incredible and the service was phenomenal — everyone was so sweet and welcoming.
We loved the sake sampler since it was a great way to try multiple bottles. My wife’s Daimyo Chirashi was packed with an amazing variety of fresh fish and flavor, while my kalbi beef was perfectly cooked with the perfect sweet heat.
The garlic squid was easily our favorite dish, and the mochi with dorayaki was the perfect dessert combo to finish the meal.
100/10 experience — can’t wait to come back!“

“Rokusho is one of my favorite spots in LA right now. The space is sleek without feeling try-hard, and the food is thoughtful, creative Japanese that still feels grounded—everything we ordered was excellent. Great cocktails, attentive service, and an overall vibe that makes it an easy go-to for a date or a night out with friends. Consistently impressive.“

“Fresh, healthy food w generous portions. I had the hana salad w chicken and the iced matcha cloud latte. The salad was fresh and their sauce/condiment bar made it extra tasty. The matcha was super yummy, on par or better with any specialty coffee/tea place. The Okinawa sugar made it elevated, though I ordered it less sweet. Will def be back!“

“Masa-san serves chef's choice, and the food is fresh and delicious. Eating here is an extremely delightful experience. The sweet shrimp with eggs is one of my favorites. Always finish your meal with at least 1 (maybe 2 or ...) of his blue crab rolls. The crab is carefully hand-pulled, the rice is warm, and the seaweed is crisp. You won't find that combination of quality and easy dining experience anywhere else in the Valley. Please try it!“

“Had such a great meal here. We did the tasting menu and everything was incredibly fresh and thoughtfully put together. The quality of the fish really stood out — clean, buttery, and clearly top tier. There was a lot of creativity in the combinations without it ever feeling overworked. The lobster roll was the highlight for me — super flavorful, perfectly balanced, and honestly just delicious.
They also had a great sake selection that paired really well with the meal and added to the overall experience.
The space has a really nice vibe, comfortable and welcoming without feeling stuffy. Service was attentive and friendly, and we never felt rushed. For the quality, the pricing felt very fair.
Would definitely come back.“

“If there’s one thing I love, it’s teriyaki plus. This restaurant is so inconspicuous and a sleeper hit of the area. It’s charming and the food is well priced and so flavorful. We got the katsu bowl, the gyoza and chicken kabobs. All perfect. I can’t quite explain why this place is so cute and charming but as soon as you step inside you can feel that you’re walking in to your new favorite restaurant.“

“Chefs kiss! My husband and I love quality places. It’s pricey but worth it. The fish is so fresh and the chefs are very talented. Honestly better than some Michelin places I’ve been to. This is better than your average sushi but accessible. The atmosphere and vibes are also very cool. Intimate, chic, and relaxed space. Grab a seat at the sushi bar if you can!“

“Flavorful and delicious! A hidden gem for Japanese cuisine in the valley. We all enjoyed the takoyaki. The Futaba (tonkatsu) ramen and (especially) the black garlic tonkatsu ramen are so good! Someone also had the chicken katsu curry and would recommend it. Great service and also very dog friendly on the patio.“

“Exquisite cuisine- chef was formally trained in Japan and his expertise shines through in every dish. Particularly the lightest, crispiest tempura once could ever hope to enjoy. Attentive, perfect service. Only knock is that it’s quite expensive, making this a once-every-five-years kind of culinary experience. That being said, we will be talking about this meal for weeks. It was *that* good. Life is short: treat yourself!“

“This is just an all around great little sushi spot - emphasis on little! Be aware, there are very few tables and only a handful of bar seats.
That said, the food is delicious! Their happy hour is a killer deal. They have so many options, most under $10.
It's located within walking distance to the Academy Museum and LACMA, so it's perfect spot to eat at it post-museum visit. I couldn't give this place any more praise.“

“I am extremely loyal to our local sushi restaurant gems all along Ventura blvd and have my staples saying that none compare to this most amazing sushi spot we've discovered and many have already known about and it is Sushi Tomoki! Wow! Paradise for sushi lovers and I must say from the moment you enter this most authentic of joints it takes your heart and you fall in love with the chefs, the ladies and gentleman serving you and guiding you along the way is next level. We absolutely have found our local spot for good. Magic!“

“As a Japanese person, I can honestly say this place is truly outstanding. The flavors are incredibly authentic, and every dish shows great care and attention to detail. It’s rare to find a restaurant that captures the balance, freshness, and depth of flavor that we value so much in Japanese cuisine.
From the moment the food arrived, it was clear that the ingredients were high quality and thoughtfully prepared. The presentation was beautiful, and each bite felt comforting and satisfying, just like the kind of meal you would hope to find in Japan. The seasoning was perfectly balanced—nothing overpowering, just clean, delicious flavors that let the ingredients shine.
What impressed me the most was the dedication to authenticity. You can tell that the people here truly respect Japanese food culture and put their heart into every dish they serve. It made me feel a little nostalgic for home.
The atmosphere was also warm and welcoming, and the staff were kind and attentive, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable.
If you are looking for genuinely delicious Japanese food, I highly recommend this place. As a Japanese customer, I felt very happy eating here, and I will definitely come back again. Thank you for such a wonderful meal!“

“Love Jo&Go Sushi. They saved me when we first moved to LA and while the house was being remodeled.
4 years later... it's still as good as first discovered. It's a neighborhood gem inside the Korean Greenland Mrkt, which btw, is also awesome.
Must try is the salmon bowl, the salmon slices are so tender and buttery... they give you a crazy amount of salmon over the rice and seriously it's enough to have a 2nd meal! One note about the bowl... I'm not a fan of drenching really good cooked rice with sauce, so I always order without the sauce. The rice is not sushi rice which makes it even more delicious... the rice is always perfectly cooked. You get a miso soup and a cute little container of pickled radish (delish). I would love to know where they source the fish... it's like being in Japan, it's so fresh.
I'll be catering with them soon and happy to update the review post order.
The kind woman who takes the order is so sweet and cute, always smiling...says hi and bye all the time.
If you're in the area, definitely give it a try for takeaway.“
