“Wow!! I just wish we lived closer so we could come more often. This place was amazing to eat at during vacation. Me and my husband shared the brisket and tri tip. Both were phenomenal but we liked the tri tip a little more. The sides were delicious as well!! We tried the Brussels sprouts, Mac and cheese, and creamy corn YUM!!! Our waiter was so friendly and great and letting us know what was more popular and she really helped us enjoy our food. We will have to visit again and eat here!!“

“The quality of US wagyu is really good. Differs from Japanese A5 but not as greasy and still tender. Recommended for the quality of meat. Try the beef sukiyaki where the thin slice of beef wrapped with rice ball and raw egg yolk as dressing; it's like the taste of heaven!“

We always get the meat sampler. Get some of every meat plus 2 sides and cornbread and enough for us to share and have leftovers. Great way to save money and get a taste of everything for us seniors.“

I spent 5 years researching and slowly deciding who and when to get my pit and after a lengthy process I’m more then thrilled to have my 120 Gallon Harper Pit! It’s a no brainer they are often imitated but never duplicated with their ingenuity and craftsmanship is second to none.“

Our chef Nick was OUT OF THIS WORLD with all his jokes and games, he even GAVE US EXTRA GARLIC BUTTER. “This has become my go-to canteen-style Chinese restaurant in Irvine — I literally know the menu by heart at this point! My coworkers and I often come here for dinner after work, and everything always hits the spot.
⭐ Grilled Skewers: Don’t underestimate their BBQ! It’s hard to find good skewers in Irvine, but these are legit — juicy, smoky, sizzling when they arrive. Must-tries: lamb skewers, chicken cartilage, and wings. I also love their nostalgic Chinese-style sausage (淀粉肠) — so good!
⭐ Stir-Fried Dishes: I’ve pretty much tried them all and none disappoint. Every dish has real wok hei (that smoky “breath of the wok”). Favorites: scallion beef, fish-flavored eggplant, and sweet & sour ribs (tastes like Hong Kong-style “sweet-sour pork”). Perfect with a bowl of rice.
⭐ Mini Hot Pot: No explanation needed — go for the spicy beef or golden soup beef pot. Big portions, packed with flavor, and super satisfying.
⭐ Chicken Soup Noodles: I order this every single time. The broth is rich and flavorful, with tender poached chicken and plenty of veggies. Comforting and delicious!
⭐ Dessert Discovery: Tried their Mango Sago Lava Bun for the first time — so good! Warm, creamy mango-coconut filling with chewy coconut bits. Not too sweet, just perfect (but be careful, it’s hot inside!).
The menu is huge — from northern to southern Chinese dishes — and everything we’ve tried has been great. The cold appetizers are also worth exploring. We came with five people, ordered a full table, and still had leftovers. Around $25 per person — definitely qualifies as an “Irvine Canteen” spot in my book!“

Had the pastor and the chicken tacos and loved both but that chicken with the extra sauce, bomb. Even the Jamaica was great n refreshing. Prices were reasonable and fair. “Love their lunch items! Less greasy yet super filling lunch items if you are on the go! That being said, there is little to no seating area to eat the box lunch items.
If you are craving some Siu Mei (Cantonese Roast Meats), this is where you can also get items such as Honey Roast Pork (叉燒), Crispy Pork Belly (燒肉), Soy Sauce Chicken(是油雞), and Roast Duck(燒鴨)!
Important: They mainly accept cash. However, depending on who is in charge of payment during the day, they may be able to accept Zelle (no Venmo).“

“Very tasty! I got the soy sauce fried chicken and soon tofu soup with dumplings. I would eat another plate of chicken right now if I had it. I got medium spicy soup but it was pretty mild, someone else at our table got very spicy and said it was mild as well. I'll probably try it a level or two spicier next time, but your mileage may vary.“

“I just bought some roast pork and roasted duck at this Hao Vi place yesterday 2/24/2024. Their food were very good as they advertised. The service was very nice and pleasant. Severs and cashier are very friendly and courteous. Definitely I will come back anytime when I am going to O.C.“
