“This is a restaurant I stopped by on my way from Los Angeles to San Diego.
I visited right at opening time, and when I asked kindly to wait a little longer, they gave me a menu.
We ordered a variety of menu items and, as expected from America, the BBQ was so delicious!!!
The owner kindly recommended travel destinations, telling me to go somewhere, and it was very pleasant and nice.
If the weather is nice, it would be nice to eat outside!“

The restaurants gets real busy. Being there at the opening time most likely will not get you into the first round. My advise is to go there about an hour early and leave your name down. There’s a mitsuwa near by, so you could kill your time there.“

“Today I went to rodeo 39 in Garden Grove with some friends and I stumbled across Kra Z Kai's. It was my second time trying Laos barbecue. This place is a hidden gem for sure. Everything was the delicious. The ribs were marinated for 24 hours. The barbecue pork and the chicken were all marinated in the same sauce. The owner told me the service was fast and this whole ambience was nice some of the best food I've had in a long time next time I'm going to Garden Grove. I will come here again.“

“The roast fish and BBQ skewers are pretty authentic. The environment is also interesting if you understand the culture. It is kinda pricey for the amount of the food. The roast fish plate looks big but it is actually not that much. Two people can spend 100 easily with some drinks.“

Their lunch combos are plentiful and always delicious I’m very well priced because they give you large portions . “For appetizers, we had mango coconut scallops, salmon tacos, and seared salmon. They exceeded our expectation!!! The grilled meat was also good. We had sakura pork belly (unexpectedly good and didn't need the deeping sauce at all), hanger steak, and garlic beef. “I'm probably never going back to BCD. No MSG, more flavorful, where has this place been all my life?

I have an MSG/glutamate intolerance so I would have an almost immediate reaction after eating. But this is my second time eating here in two days and no reaction. I confirmed it with the daughter of the owners today. No MSG used. The food and side dishes feel like mom/grandma made them. Full of flavor without MSG, what is this magic? The bulgolgi tastes like caramelized kalbi. Amazing. Each of the side dishes have so much flavor maturation.

The beer is priced the same as most happy hours elsewhere.

What we ordered:
Soon Tofu soup + bulgolgi combo with kimchi beef tofu soup. They give you a small salad to start. The side dishes include kimchi, kimchi cucumber, Korean potato salad (with cucumbers and apples), fish cake, broccoli/or spinach tofu, and marinated bean sprouts. Every single item was flavorful and delicious.

I feel satisfied, nourished, and happy eating here. Such a hidden family-owned gem. Support small business y'all.

They also offer more than few options for broth which is a huge plus and my favorite here is the yuzu. moreover, the wait time is not long and they have greta service.“
