“I am a local and The Pendry lounge is one of those spots that has an amazing atmosphere with great service, and staff. It is the best bar scene currently in the OC. I’ve met people from all over the U.S there and always enjoy my time. All the bartenders are amazing. I always tell my friends to go and see for themselves. Friday and Saturday nights are extremely busy later in the night, so make sure you arrive before 9ish or there might be a line.“

“They have great food and a fantastic venue to listen to quality musicians! I was there last night with my husband. We got to hear Kenny Metcalf perform Elton John’s Deep Cuts. It was SO good! Kenny Metcalf performed songs I have only heard on Elton John’s albums. I’m so delighted I got to see this particular show!! WOW! It was off the charts musically and Kenny is such a talented singer and musician. When I closed my eyes I thought Elton was singing. The band was amazing too. That guitar player that I don’t remember his name, played a few solo guitar riffs that had everyone in the room clapping. The sold out venue was electric with the sound of Elton John’s deep cuts that I would never have heard live. So amazingly well done!!!! I left with a big smile on my face. I’m going to tell all my friends about Campus Jax….“

“NICE LUNCH ! My wife and I hit this Whole Foods Market in Newport Beach on Saturday morning for most of our weekly grocery needs. It was pouring down rain when we arrived and when we left....thankfully the Fashion Island huge multi level parking garage is straight across the street. After taking care of our grocery needs we headed to the tavern ( opens at midday ) at the rear of this store. We've had lunch here a few times and it's all been good. We parked our full shopping cart beside a table and I fetched a menu from the bar counter. Juana the manager / server / bartender said hi. I asked for a couple of iced waters. My wife selected the TTLA Sandwich ( Tempeh bacon, garlic aioli, green leaf lettuce, tomato, avocado, toasted ciabatta, side salad or fries ) with Fries option and I decided on the Pulled Pork Sandwich ( BBQ pulled pork, BBQ sauce, cabbage, ranch, pickles, toasted brioche bun, side salad or fries ) with Fries option. My Pulled Pork Sandwich & thick cut Fries came out within a few minutes but my wife was left wondering about her order. A minute or 2 later Juana came to our table and said the kitchen was out of Tempeh Bacon ( bacon made from fermented soy beans ) . WHAT'S THAT ? Not being vegetarians we had no idea that Tempeh Bacon was a fake bacon. GIVE US THE REAL THING ! Juana said they can substitute regular bacon for the fake stuff. Eventually my wife's BTLA Sandwich with thick cut Fries was brought out by Juana. NO PROB ! I think the lunch menu should be clearer when describing the ingredients...in particular the Tempeh Bacon. We were both pretty happy with our lunch....I did mention to Juana they should go easier on the BBQ sauce. GOOD SPOT !“

“I have only great memories of the Beach Ball in the early 1980's when Phil Johnson was owner or manager. Beach Ball always had a live band on Sunday afternoons. Great drinks great people great memories and times“

“Our first time there, but Jeff made it feel like back home. He filled us in on some of the local lore and the history of the bar itself with such warm energy. Lots of laughs were had as well.

May Jeff always be tipped well and never have to eat mayo-- his mortal sandwich enemy.

“Bayside Restaurant in Newport Beach is a gem, especially for its live music every night. The atmosphere is so captivating that I often find myself singing along or even getting up to dance. The food and service are just as exceptional: my go-to dishes are the scallops, the lamb, and all the steaks. The seafood is so fresh and the steaks are far superior in flavor to any high-end restaurant. For appetizers, the ahi tuna tartare is a must-try (THE BEST I’ve had anywhere), and the calamari with its Thai-style twist of chilies, green onion, and cilantro over an amazing salad is a standout. Desserts? Absolutely heavenly. The cheesecake and panna cotta are favorites, but the Grand Marnier souffle is simply to die for. The service is also impeccable…from the moment you arrive with the complimentary valet service, to the hostesses, the bartenders, servers, and bussers. Everyone is so friendly and attentive! Bayside is an experience I cherish every time. Can’t wait for my next visit!“

“Old Bar and Grill on the peninsula.
Good food and drinks. Great location. Its also going thru couple different expansions.
The facility is getting upgraded. Just more room for food and drink.

Tacos on Thursday are excellent and priced to win. The owner of this place is a high level
bar and resturaunt pro.

He turns old landmarks into an even better old landmarks. He has a sharp eye for contractor selection and the details it takes to make a place better than it was.

Come check it out open during construction. Good amount of parking as well.

“Celebrated our anniversary at Buona Forchetta Newport last night. The food was delicious and the staff were lovely and went out of their way to make it a special evening. The artichoke starter was so good! We ordered our mains from the specials list, both were fantastic. We can’t wait to go back and try the pizza!“

For food, the Albacore appetizer with the crispy onion topping was an absolute smash hit for the evening, as well as the Crispy Rock roll. They both disappeared faster than I could chew. The sashimi we ordered, in addition to having beautiful plating, was absolutely fresh and delicious. The salmon sashimi in particular just melted on the tongue like butter.

Last but certainly not least, it's not every day that I dine at a Japanese restaurant with a memorable Sake selection. While sake is available at most sushi restaurants these days, after a while you tend to see the same two or three options over and over again. To have an extensive list of various sake options, as well as their house and seasonal sake options was a breath of fresh air.“

“For Mother's Day, we had a party of 15 - which the restaurant easily accommodated. Our table was ready on time. The food was good, the scenery was great. The service was, however, lacking. The sun was out, so we asked the waiter if he could help move an umbrella for my 18 month old son and wife (she was on the opposite side of the table from me). He ignored us despite having been asked twice, by my count. The third time he pawned it off on a co-worker, who helped immediately. Finally the checks came - we asked for separate checks, which was no problem. Everyone paid and we were on our way. Later, my wife discovered that she had been charged for the whole table ($400) on top of the separate bill that she already paid. I was charged an additional $80, and my sister was charged an additional $20. My wife had to call the restaurant from work in order to straighten it out. So if you go in a group, be careful of how you're billed. Aside from that, it was a great meal with family. We would go back if there were no further issues.“
