“This is Costco for bakery. Huge and crowded. Lines and orders move pretty fast. Dine in and to go available. Parking is crowded most of the time. Bakeries, coffee, and pastries are above average, but not something you gotta have. Prices are reasonable. Good to visit once when near by.
Try the Bensito, very good cookie pastry. Good cake pastry with nice inside truffle fillings.“

reference photo that I gave her. The cake was also so good and moist and everyone at the party loved it. There was a little hiccup on our end where one of the letters got damaged in transport and Susy was able to replace it last minute before the party started. Overall a great experience and I would use her again if I need a cake in Long Beach.“

“It was exactly 2 weeks before my daughter’s quinceanera. I had been considering making her cake but after a lot of stress and agonizing over what to do, I decided to stop into Sugar Mama’s just to see what they had to offer. Within about 10 minutes I was placing an order. The shop is very cute and the staff makes you feel instantly at ease. The order process was fairly straightforward. If anything there are almost too many options for flavors and additional toppings but that’s not a complaint. The day of our event came and the cake was beautiful. They took my inspiration photos and made her a gorgeous cake. It was delicious and reasonably priced too. Overall, we had a great experience with this business and will be back.“

“I have been going to this bakery for many years...about 30 years but not sure if it's the same family. They have always had delicious Mexican bread, pastries, and cakes...now they have added tamales (if you're lucky enough to get them). Great for a quick trip when you need milk or eggs, but you get to treat yourself too.“

“They made my mom’s birthday cake it was a work of art and it was delicious. We chose my mom’s favorite. Carrot cake with a whip cream frosting and custard filling. It was the most delicious carrot cake I ever had! Even family members who exclaimed they did not like carrot cake tried this one and changed their mind it was that good!! We also got a flan pie. As soon as the dessert bar open at 9 it was almost cleared out. We didn't put everything out at once and had to restock it in 7 mins. My daughter even said she didn't get a chance to have anything but a cake pop because it all went fast. Back to the wedding cake, they did such an amazing job recreating the cake we wanted. Parking is a little tight in the one way lot. Baskin-Robbins is located in between Adalberto's & Pep Boys.A scoop of ice cream in August is a must. More so when it's free! Baskin-Robbins always delights me with their birthday promo, and the difficult part is deciding on which flavor to choose. New, artisan ice cream shops have popped up like weeds, but Baskin-Robbins is still the classic mainstay that still delivers the goods.“

“Ice cream is usually a safe choice—until you order a banana split and it looks nothing like the picture.

This is my second time visiting since they moved across the street. The store is very clean and feels brand new. The staff were young, friendly, and pleasant, which made the visit enjoyable.

Unfortunately, both visits had the same issue: missing toppings. They didn’t have hot chocolate syrup, which is essential for a banana split. The whipped cream was flat and seemed watered down, likely from being left out too long. Making a banana split isn’t hard, but without the right ingredients, the experience falls short. The alternative topping combinations didn’t really work either.

If the manager sees this, I hope you make sure all toppings are consistently available and fresh.

“Haven’t had Cold Stone in a while. Got the Strawberry Blonde in the largest size (about 12oz) and was surprised it’s now $12.79, almost the price of a lunch! (I usually stick to grocery-store Häagen-Dazs when it’s on sale.)

The Strawberry Blonde is super rich and delicious, more than enough to satisfy my ice cream cravings. The largest size is definitely big enough to share between 2–3 people, and for an occasional treat, it’s actually pretty great.”
