Chipotle Mexican Grill in Oakland

“Every time my family and I come here we have a great experience. The food is good and the staff is friendly! Today in particular we had a little mix up on our bowl toppings but the manager Griselda was very nice about it and fixed it for us! Will definitely come back to this location. They’re awesome!!! 😁“

“The downtown Oakland Chipotle has delicious fresh food, but what stands out is their amazing staff! I serve as caregiver for an individual with autism who has sensitivities to music, light, and certain words. He can seem grumpy and curt when ordering his salad, but the Chipotle crew always takes care of him, even going so far as to turn off the music whenever we arrive. Few restaurants will go to this length, so this Chipotle gets six shining stars. We come a couple times a week and the restaurant has become a consistently safe place for my friend. Thank you lovely people, with a special shout-out to Leslie and a few others whose names I don’t know!“

“Let me be VERY clear. 99% of the staff is always amazing. I have been to this location over 150 times this year alone (for those doing the math, yes that means I eat there literally almost daily). I am leaving a 5 star review because the staff deserve that, HOWEVER this is not a happy review. There is a single person (I assume she comes from corporate or is a travel manager as she is rarely there but wears a collared shirt and stands in the middle of the line just watching everybody) she is fair skinned, heavy set, and has a look on her face that I assume makes people that work under her want to quit their job.

When she is there, not a single person in the building is smiling (and they are all so wonderful), when she is there you get HALF the food and charged the same price. Since I am there daily, even though other staff felt bad and apologized on behalf of the business and my experience. As I walked down I looked directly at her and ask do I really need to pay for double meat for the amount of food that was just put on that bowl and she just snarked and stared at the person ringing up the order to ensure that they did it. Knowing that I was looking at her, she just said thank you without ever looking up and tossed my bag down in front of me to go.

Every person that typically works in that building is absolutely amazing. They are extremely nice and as I am there daily, most of them even stop to ask about my day. None of them Deserve to work an environment under a manager like that. Their typical daily manager is a young gentleman with red hair who runs a tight ship while ensuring that both workers and customers are happy.

If that location is fighting profit margin issues And they think that it is due to portion control, I am happy to report that they typically serve proper portions and I, without refute, often opt to pay for double protein.
