“The burgers were amazing- so tender and juicy for a default medium/medium well burger! The fried chicken sandwich was also so juicy and yet crispy, in fact I think my friend and I both preferred that, please don’t tell the owners! Just kidding..but it was great. Very light batter, but just enough crunch. The mochi waffle was yummy, and the combo of hot waffle and cold ice cream was uber-comforting. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a simple but extremely well thought-out meal.”

“HI, I have to be honest. I was trying to find a way to contact Flappy Jacks as I have a proposition I think would be perfect for Flappy Jacks I have what is probably a bit of an unusual idea. Or maybe just a good idea. I know it is an unusual way to contact you but there was no email address. So I hope this works. I am from Columbia Missouri and I am visiting my Son, Grand Kids, and family there, just a few blocks to the East of Tustin. I am a musician, part time, and I like to street busk (play music on the streets) for grins. I noticed your nostalgic decor and your Elvis statues and the mural featuring the St Louis Arch, which is in Missouri on the Mississippi, of course, where I am from, and the 1930s, 40s and 50s nostalgia, and I wondered if you ever considered, or entertained the notion of having a little nostalgic live music, every now and then, perhaps even if only just once as an experiment. I just happen to play that old classic blues from that era, mostly, at least in this capacity, as Mr. Fletcher's One Man Blues Band. And I thought we might make a pretty good match up. As I said, at least, as an experiment. You can check me out at Facebook "Keith Fletcher, musician." Though most of that music is from my original music shows, and not my one man blues sets. I noticed you had a nice patio area where I could play outside and it might be a nice treat for your customers to have a bit of entertainment, just for a change of pace. They might really appreciate it since they obviously like your atmosphere. I don't play loud music. Unless folks want that, but I prefer to play soft. Or at least in situations like this. I've been the house band for BBQ joints and restaurants on several occasions. So I am familiar with the proper decorum. Mostly I was just looking for a little music adventure in CA within a walking distance of my Son's house, where I could carry a very tiny amp about the size of a cracker box, and my guitar to a gig. I thought maybe about just doing a street gig but saw your venue and something seemed to click. I hope you think so too. I estimate you are about a mile walking distance from his house and I only need an electrical plug. And probably some cool beverages. Like I said, I'm mostly in it for a small musical adventure, and so will play for tips, though, maybe you can pay me with free cold beverages, especially if it is hot, and maybe a sandwich or meal depending on how long I am there. It all looks delicious to me. If you find you'd like to host me again, and want me back, that might be possible over the week, and I may be back for the Christmas holiday. I might even be able to talk my Son into bringing the kids and family. Could be a total bust, or could be a very nice thing, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Who knows? If it worked out well enough for both of us, you might even want to do it again sometime, Maybe even offer some kind of fee next time, if there is a next time. Life is an adventure. You / we, might stumble onto something good. If you would like to give it a whirl, what day and time would you think is good to catch a crowd? “This small sushi restaurant may not have the luxury fancy interior decor but the food beats out pretty much all the high end sushi restaurants. The fish selection, grade and quality is incredible. Sushi rice is prepared right and very light and perfect compliment to raw fish. Sashimi just melts in your mouth. You don't need soy sauce here as the fish is already marinaded and prepped to be eaten right away.”

I've seen their business increase. The food is very good and competitively priced. Some comments I read earlier that it was overly priced they must go to Denny's a lot. The weekends get packed. Sometimes 1-2 hour wait for dinner. They have entertainment on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. They also have great Happy Hour specials M-F. I'm just another happy customer that has been coming in for years.”

“Wow, what an amazing chorizo breakfast burrito! This was my first time at LJ's. The quality of the ingredients was seen and smelled before the first bite. Then came the crunch of the tots which triggered a taste and experience of freshness along with a perfect blend of other flavors from the other ingredients all perfectly balanced proportionally. I had a different chorizo burrito this weekend (another 1st time try at a place close to my house) but it had soggy hash browns (so much that I had to surgically remove some) that really overshadowed and ruins the burrito. This burritos was awesome! I also highly recommend trying the sauces. The hot orange sauce was my favorite then the cilantro cream. The chipotle was also rich and creamy. Thank you LJ's for a yummy burrito experience!”

“Overall enjoyed my experience here. The flavours for the sauces were extremely yummy. Seafood was slightly overcooked in both orders we had, but the sauce and seasonings made up for it (probably the best seasonings I’ve had for seafood boil)!

Service is helpful - not necessarily attentive nor proactive but if you ask for anything they’ll be happy to help.

“As almost rveryone who has been to an In and Out knows there are hamburgers an cheese burgers made fresh. Options are no onions, raw or grilled onions, tomatos lettuce sauce and pickles lid some I don't know about. Fries can have melted cheese and sauce and instead of a bun the burger can be serv ed wrapped on a lettuce leaf. Drinks are fountain and unlimited a milk shake or coffee. It is almost always a mob scene which tells you how popular it is.”

“Very good find! The inside was very clean and bright atmosphere with happy music. The food was amazing! Generous portions and I could tell there was thought put into the presentation of the food (ceviche was beautiful!). We ordered a ceviche plate and fish taco. We don't speak Spanish but the cashier was helpful in explaining each dish and naming recommendations. I will definitely come back when I am in the area. Price was reasonable for the amount of food.”

“Fluffy, perfectly charred, nice chew and just the right amount of saltiness. I ordered a Margherita pizza to go and ate it later that evening and it still tasted excellent. This is as close to authentic Italian pizza as it gets. My only gripe is they open at 5pm so it’s difficult to eat there more often. The restaurant is tiny and cozy so reservations are a must if you do go. I can’t wait to come back and try another pizza.”

I went for thr first time this evening out of curiosity and I'm so happy I did! The food is GREAT!
I ordered the fish and chips basket with chicken strips and a side order of coconut shrimp and couldn't even finish it all because the portions are HUGE!
I was really pleased with everything and thr best part about tonight's visit is that everything was STILL HOT once I got home!

“Me and coworker were looking for a decent Mexican restaurant for some tacos in this area, not too far from work bc traffic … But glad we tried this place. Carnitas taco was my favorite. The fact that I could eat that alone without any salsas, delicious. You can actually taste the meat for what it is. Very friendly staff. Coworker got carnitas burrito and loved it.”
