“First time visiting this place. This cafe seems to be a local favorite and I can see why. I had a ham&cheese croissant and a coffee - the pastry was delicious and the coffee came in a nice big mug. Local spots like this are always the best find!“

“My favorite place. I grew up in Palo Alto and Peet’s was the local high end coffee to grind and serve via French press. Philz pour over coffee is sublime, hot, comforting and the staff are always wonderful. While many folks order online, I prefer to do so in person and usually have a short wait to receive my coffee. ☕️“

“The Redwood is a secret gem in downtown Palo Alto. I'm a sandwich for lunch guy, and what I've loved about the several that I've had is that Chef Julien takes excellent base components -- like bread/rolls, meat, cheese and veggies -- and adds extras that make it taste especially good. My wife is a soup and salad person and she's always been very happy with her food. We're so grateful that a friend turned us on to the place.

I'm addition, we recently had Chef Julien cater a dinner for us. He was especially thoughtful to manage the menu around dietary restrictions of guests. Everyone loved the meal, from start to finish.“

“My sister and I had lunch on July 28, 2025. The French fries are absolutely the best. Crisp with rosemary scattered on top. Two Ceasar salads, one with chicken and one with wild Pacific prawns. My sister said the chicken was cooked perfectly and had good flavor. The problem was with the salads. The dressing on the salad had no flavor at all. Who ever made must have forgotten the flavor ingredients. My prawns were cooked perfectly but no seasoning, just no flavor. Not sure what happened yesterday but just no taste and no seasoning of the dressing and prawns.“

The downtown location includes more ample seating inside and outside that is usually found, owing to the unusual architecture of this corner building.“

“The menu is very limited, but they are so pleasant — the young man behind the counter is unfailingly kind, and his choice in music is always excellent. They have far fewer warm options (basically warm pastries and a couple of brekkie sandwiches) than Mc Donald ‘s and La Baguette, but to not deal with the crummy, antagonistic service the staff of both those places provide, and to not have to sit outside in the cold or the damp (like at la baguette) or be made to stand around until well after the opening time while the employees giggle, gossip and ignore the customers (mcdonald’s), I am fine skipping breakfast and having an extra cuppa for 15 minutes before work in the morning. Plus, sometimes you just REALLY need a quiet corner where Green Day, the Clash and the Cure are playing at top volume at 7:30 am, to remind you that it is, in fact, Monday— and you are NOT on holiday.“

“So glad I stumbled across this gem today! William (cashier) was extremely patient, accommodating, and helpful. We ordered a porchetta sandwich, side of fries, double espresso, burger, and scone. Everything we had was delicious - the porchetta was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had. There isn’t a dedicated kids menu from what I saw, but they provided a high chair and most kids survive off fries, so we were fine. Parking is in a private lot and an easy walk from LPCH or Stanford shopping center. The weather was perfect for their patio dining, and staff were prompt to bring our food and clear tables.“

“Just discovered this little gem! So conveniently located near the research park. Very clean with a nice parking lot. They also cater parties on site, mostly for nearby businesses. They don't mind if you stay a little while between meetings, and there is a lot of seating.“

“I ordered my parents the Easter holiday meal and they raved for days about how good everything was, especially the ham and mashed potatoes. I thought it was terrific value as well....four people were left feeling full and there were leftovers too. I have ordered the weekly meals before as well and they are always a hit and very plentiful.“

“This is a Starbucks placed in the middle of the hospital. I hide out there until my husband is done with his treatment. I actually got a grande latte for four bucks. It's probably my favorite place to be on those days. Nice people...quiet surroundings. It doesn't get better than that
