“I had such a great experience here. I called because I knew I was going to arrive about five minutes after closing, and before I even asked if it was still possible to order, the staff member offered to prepare a bento box for me anyway. That alone meant a lot after a very long day at work.

Since it was my first time visiting, I wasn’t sure which sides to choose, so she helped pick them for me and did an excellent job. Everything was fresh, balanced, and delicious. When I arrived, everyone was incredibly kind and made sure I had all my utensils and condiments before I left.

The food quality was great, but what really stood out was how thoughtful and accommodating the team was. It’s rare to see that level of customer care, especially right at closing time. I’ll definitely be coming back. 🍱✨“

BUT if you're looking for a hole in a wall, great quality food, friendly staff, and located at downtown Redwood City, this place is for you. I need to come here more often. It's so yummy, they make the wrappers from scratch for the dumplings, the dishes are not overly greasy (which I like ALOT), and it's affordable. Give me a place like this any day. “Taiwanese Eats is a takeout-only restaurant in Redwood City that specializes in fan tuan (Chinese rice burrito). Fan tuan has become super trendy lately, but this has been my go-to spot long before all the hype! I’m so glad I discovered it early because it’s gotten really popular now, and orders can take a bit longer during busy times.

I usually order it through DoorDash for breakfast or lunch, it’s so convenient, incredibly filling, and always hits the spot. My most favorite are braised pork and pork floss. They offer both sticky rice and purple rice options, and the purple rice costs a little extra. Personally, I think it’s worth it because I love its chewy texture, although my friend prefers the classic sticky rice. The crispy fried dough inside is always flavorful and adds the perfect crunch to every bite. And, the portions are super huge! I can almost never finish one in a single sitting, so I usually cut it in half and save the rest for later. It’s just as delicious the second time around.

Their soy milk is another favorite of mine. It’s fresh and not overly sweet, which I really appreciate since many places make it too sugary.

If you’re craving authentic Taiwanese breakfast, I highly recommend giving this place a try!“

The acoustic isn’t good, making restaurant very loud when it’s crowded. Hard to talk.“

“Today is our first time trying the food here. We got Taiwanese tempura, basil popcorn chicken and grilled pork chop bento. All the food is yummy. For sure we will go back to try other food. 😋“

“We had the most wonderful experience at this restaurant. From start to end the customer service was so accommodating and friendly. Our group had a tired toddler and the owner of the restaurant came to help find us accommodating seating for our group. He also came to take our orders and asked if our toddler had any known allergies to common allergens since there were some in the dishes on the menu. He additionally made recommendations on what would be good to order for our tot. As an stressed mama I so very much appreciated the care he put into connecting with us. On top of the amazing customer service the food blew us away. I had the hand pulled minced pork noodles. It was amazing and packed with flavor. We tried other dishes our table ordered like the beef noodles and everything was so delicious. We don’t ever expect to be accommodated for having a fussy toddler and would never request any accommodations either. However this was such an amazing experience from the moment we walked into the building to the moment we left. 10/10 would have easily came back for the customer service alone but the food itself would have made us come back again and again anyways. Thank you! We will be frequent repeat customers!“

I think it totally depends on what you order some things are solid (4 stars) and others are a bit lower

For example, I had kung pao, 3.5 before. Most of the dishes are 3-4 stars. Mongolian beef 3.5
Pork chop bento 3.75 stars

The meat was really good but the broth, to me was ok. I have eaten at other Taiwanese beef noodle places. I just think their broth is better. It is very authentic but the flavor profile is not as tasty to me as other places

The general chicken was good solid 4 stars

“So many creative and yummy options! We were lucky and able to get a same day reservation at 5:15 pm on a Friday.

Service is impeccable and it looked like there was more staff than tables when we arrived but over the course of dinner, as the rest filled up, it made more sense.

We loved the custard appetizer. So smooth with great textures and flavors from the potato, fish roe and everything else in the bowl.

The lasagna was very unexpected yet delicious with layers and ground meat.

The pawns had great flavor and we liked the sausages and tomatoes it came with. I also love that the bodies were de-shelled as already.

The cold noodle was very interesting with the foam. It's a very mild flavor so this dish is more about the presentation and textures.

The scallops were fresh but not that interesting. I love Hokkaido scallops but I prefer them raw. This cook was good, just not that interesting.

The spicy hot tofu soup was fine. It didn't feel different or elevated from what I've had at other places and a touch too salty for our tastes.

There's plenty to try on the menu and would have loved to try the kalbi but our bill was quite pricey already.

I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try, it's a great treat and dining experience.“

“I ordered Taiwanese Supreme Spicy one with mild spice which is not spicy, taste so good. They offered free iced green tea, its refill. I went there lunchtime so there’s a line. It comes with rice or vermicelli. Potion is good, can be shared by two people.“

“My favorites are Bomb bread, black sesame pastry, coconut raisin loaf, sweet green bean mug, taro cake and strawberry shortcake. My little girl is the big fans of the Nutella wheel cake, strawberry shortcake bread and cranberry loaf. My hubby likes the milk bread and Vietnamese sandwiches. The twins (fries and chicken) and shave ice are very good too. Owners and staff are very nice and helpful. I always call ahead to reserve my favorites. “Authentic home-style northern Chinese food. It’s best if you go for the dishes that don’t require pan-frying, such as the buns, the pumpkin porridge, or the cabbage tofu stew.
I chatted with the owner, she is very passionate about not using additives, and fresh small-batch oil everyday; her own grandchildren eat here. I have a sensitive stomach and this is indeed one of the only places I can constantly order from.
Overall, this is a restaurant that preserves ingredients’ original flavors like your grandma’s kitchen. The atmosphere is likewise — nothing fancy.“
