“Decided to try this restaurant and there were pros and cons with my food choices. 1) Pollo a la braza was amazingly seasoned and delicious, would come come back for it 2) Salad was a good sized plate, would order again 3) plantains were not good, they were green; tasted horrible 4) the Picarones were okay, but it was my 1st time eating them. I wouldn’t definitely not order them again.“

“Very good restaurant to eat at when you’re craving something different and delicious. Some of the vegetables and herbs are grown right in the backyard. Dessert pie homemade and delicious. This was the first restaurant I ate at which served us a Soursop juice drink. My first visit here but definitely not the last.“

“Toyitos is a jewel in the city of Downey. Best Rotisserie Chicken around. I love Chicken with fries and Salchipapas( sliced hotdogs and fries). The chicken has special peruvian flavor and peruvian sauces. Don’t forget the ice cream Lucuma flavor, and the peruvian soda Inka “

“Got the lemon June drink and the truffle fried rice to go and both were really delicious. The rice Had pork and sausage in it and came with great side of in house soy sauce on the side as well as utensils and the lemon June drink had peach purée and it was super refreshing, a bit in the pricey side for everything but it was all super good so I’d definitely come back and try more, inside was fairly small but the decor was super nice and service was good and on point so I’d definitely recommend this spot“

“Amazing spot to get whole chicken. I called in to catch the person on the reaction of their chicken. The little Gemini lady at the window said she rates this place a 10/10. I liked how the pictures looked and I still thought she was playing. But I was 7 minutes away so I stoped by. That whole chicken I had was so good they marinate their chicken, I’ve never tasted all those flavors before. I’m glad I stopped here today.“

“Unbelievable food—we had the aji de gallina, ceviche pesdado, and pescado a la parrilla and truthfully may have been the best I’ve ever had.
Quaint and comfortable atmosphere plus the service was super attentive and the food came out hot and quick, definitely coming back!“

“This is our first time in this restaurant and we are very pleased. First approached by a gentleman guiding my family and me making us feel so welcomed. Betty was very nice, kind, respectful , and very professional on her job. She made us feel very very special that we are definitely coming back to visit and enjoy the greatest Peruvian food we ever trued before. I really really recommend this place.

“Amazing hidden mom & pop gem in Downey!
First time having Peruvian food and it did not disappoint! Cute, clean atmosphere - the owner was nice enough to chat with us and introduce us to some menu items.
Highly recommend the Ceviche Mixto to start, and the Lomo Saltado to share all around. We also got the Tallarín Verde con Pechuga which was a cleaner dish. I recommend the Maracuya (passion fruit) drink.
For dessert, I loved the Lucuma fruit based ice cream which kinda had a light but sweet maple-butterscotch flavor.
Would come back again!“

“This is my favorite and the best Peruvian restaurant ever!! Me and my family have been coming here for 17yrs and we love it! The food is so delicious and you can tell he makes it with so much love! Everything tastes fresh and the owner is the cook and the server he’s so nice and attentive and cooks amazing! I will continue to recommend this place to my friends and family. The anticicho is the best and the rachi con papa is to die for!“

“I’ve been coming here since I can remember. At least 10 years by now. Their food is always consistent and delicious and priced well. My family’s order is a full chicken, fries, and arroz chauffa. The chicken is always tender and juicy and has great flavor, but my favorite is the arroz con chauffa. I think it’s genuinely my favorite food ever. period. I could eat it every day and not get tired of it 11/10. Now, we usually order take out because the inside is kind of small and we like to share with our friends and family (who also love it) so keep that in mind if you’re thinking of eating inside. I would recommend this place to everyone, as there’s something for everyone on the menu!“
