“A Hidden Gem Near Welk Resort – Don’t Let the Renovations Fool You!

While staying at the Welk Resort—which isn’t exactly known for its dining options—my husband and I ventured just a couple miles down the road to Oaks Bar and Grill, and we’re so glad we did.

The first thing you’ll notice is the fluttering BBQ signs that help you spot the place easily. The restaurant is currently undergoing renovations, and admittedly, the interior atmosphere might not immediately draw you in—but trust me, persevere. The food more than makes up for it.

For dinner on Mother's Day, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of fries and, on a fellow patron’s recommendation, the potato salad. I’m usually not a “double potato” person, but I’m so glad I listened. The pork was perfectly tender, lightly sauced so the flavor of the meat shone through, and incredibly satisfying.

My husband went for the Korean BBQ options on the menu and ordered the bulgogi plate with fried rice and kimchi. We were both blown away by the taste and quality—so much so that we decided to return the next day. The kimchi was so good.

On our second visit (for breakfast around 10:00am!), the chef—who seemed to be a Korean mama and clearly knows what she's doing—recommended the spicy Korean pork. We both ordered it, and it was nothing short of phenomenal.

We also ordered take-out bulgogi and kimchi to take home for dinner! It was nicely packed up and excellent reheated.

There’s also a full bar onsite, and during the day, the space seems to serve as part of the golf course pro shop. While the setting may still be in transition, the food here is next-level and truly makes Oaks Bar & Grill a hidden gem in the area. We’ll absolutely be back!“

“10/10 will be returning and recommend to everyone!!! I have recently made big changes to my diet and this gem will now be my go to so I can stay on track. I had the Southwestern salad that had an amazing dressing and yummy chicken! We indulged and had the gluten free pumpkin muffins and when I tell you they were absolutely delicious.They also have an area for cornhole! Lots of seating and parking isn't an issue either. Take a friend or enjoy solo either way its a big YES!!!

“We love Bar Meets Grill! The food is always spectacular especially when Carlos is the chef on duty and the service is ALWAYS top notch. Everyone is so welcoming and attentive from Miriam at the front to Behrouz bringing the bread, singing Happy Birthday with his beautiful voice and bussing tables to almost all of the servers….Stephen, Tiffany, Sean…everyone is incredible there. We had the pleasure of having Stephen for our waiter for our Valentines date with our daughter and he is always exceptional and accommodating! The jumbo shrimp cocktail was delicious and the steaks flavor was amazing. Best desserts too especially the flourless chocolate cake (highly recommend)! This is always our go to restaurant whether is for a date night or even taking our kids out in their birthdays( it is all 3 of our kids favorite restaurant). Thanks to everyone at Bar Meets Grill for always making us feel so welcome and taking the best care of us consistently!“
