I've been to his Momofuku restaurant in NYC and loved it so I naturally had to try Majordomo.You have to plan ahead to reserve the short rib special and it is amazing. They cut it tableside and serve it lettuce, kitchen, and radishes. Such a good balance of flavors but the prime rib by itself is very flavorful and smoky.The Bing is also a must with the cultured butter and honey. This is seriously addictive. I honestly didn’t have any expectations for an udon place because I’ve had udon at the Marugame Udon chain and expected something similar. Let me tell you that this place elevates their udon to the next level. The mentai udon was easily one of my favorite meals during my trip to LA. The sauce was creamy, savory, and sweet with the perfect balance. The umami from the mentai and shrimp complements the sauce so well. It wasn’t too rich and was just right. “First off the portions are hefty and the presentation makes the entrees really appealing. Then comes the best part, you actually get to eat it. We've had Laotian food before as there are excellent ones in the SFV, but hands down this has to be the best by far. So far we've tried grilled beef plate w/ a side of papaya salad paired w/ chicken and sausage ala carte (instead of the plate) and they were all in scrumptious. The saucesParking: It is located in a multi use apartment above/commercial businesses below. So the parking is actually where the tenants also park which leaves plenty of spaces for the restaurant and it's free. No ticket and validation required.“

“Nice little gem we recently found. Place was clean & inviting and one of the cooks did a great job explaining the menu to us. We ordered the cheese Katsu meals and the portions are perfect! Really enjoyed the salad and dressing that topped it. Bowl of miso and rice were the perfect touch to complete the meal. Cheese katsu was amazing and the food was hot and fresh and the service was great. Definitely going to put this on our list of "places to return to"“
“This place is so cute! It reminds me of a hipster joint you would find in LA or Tokyo. They play funky music and offer happy hour everyday 8pm to close and you get $2 off munchies (their version of appetizers or small plates) and $1 off drinks. The food can be pretty spicy. For example, the drunken noodles were like a 7/10 on spice level. The boat noodle soup was loaded with robust flavor. The fried chicken wings appetizer was moist with a sweet and tangy sauce. They offer a variety of drinks from Thai tea to fresh coconut as well as unique desserts! I've been to Thailand and some of the best Thai restaurants in LA and OC and this place ranks among them for their creativity and uniqueness. The service is good and everything came out in good time. Another plus is that they provided eco-friendly to go packaging AND their water is fresh and clean! Didn't taste like tap water! I'd come back to try their other foods but make sure that the spice is not as intense.“

“This place is amazing. My friend made reservations for us about a month in advance. We were seated right away. We had the options of either seafood or beef menu. We choose the beef menu. This is my first dining experience so I was looking forward to everything. This was a unique 12 course experience and the staff here did an amazing job. Every item that came out was very good. Here, at Happy Bee, I'm delighted to say their curry chicken was predominantly chicken. Oh so tender chicken! The bell peppers & curry provided a good amount of heat, enhanced by the addition of chili oil on my part. Really good!Service has been excellent. No more making the drive in traffic out to Savoy in Alhambra when craving for Hainan chicken rice. It's a small restaurant tucked behind Popeye's fried chicken adjacent to Auntie Anne's pretzel and Jamba Juice. They have a limited menu that specializes in chicken rice. For my first try I kept it simple with Hainan chicken rice to go order. There is regular and a larger size portions. The perfectly sliced boneless chicken sits on top of ginger chicken broth flavored rice comes with minced cucumber slices, and three sauces sambal, soy sauce, and ginger sauce. There is also a small side of chicken broth. The chicken tastes clean, no MSG detected. Next time I'll be back to try the fried chicken. No cash accepted, pay by cashless credit card or Apple Pay at the kiosk.“
“Called in an order today based on recommendations on Yelp! The person taking my order was very quick and helpful. He said it would be ready in 15/20 minutes. Located on Del Amo/Bellflower it was easy to find. Large lot but very busy as there are a few food stores there. There was a small line ordering when we arrived. Two of the six tables available were taken. I noticed on the menu board Wednesdays are $1 a wing day. We were served by a very friendly associate who grabbed our order promptly. My order consisted of 6 Garlic Parm Wings 6 Sweet and Spicy Wings. Garlic Noodles with Tri Tip and a Ninja Quesadilla The food was great, very tasty and spicy where it needed to be. “There are two reasons I would go back to this place. I saw it on Instagram, and I like to judge places for myself, so we went. The first reason I'd go back is they have an employee by the name of America, I told her it was our first time she introduced both beef and chicken teriyaki so we could taste both flavors and it was by far a great recommendation. Both had great flavor, so this place, I would say, is a good five-star. It's always wonderful when you find good tasting food but it's even better when you have staff that backs up the restaurant and gives you great customer service“

“Parking: Very easy even on a Saturday/ Sunday brunch day. I would say to come early to check in on their Yelp waitlist in case their place get's especially busy. If you order all these dishes with a group of 4 people, this will fill you up. Banana Latte: Tasted more of the latte than the banana. Gamberry Rose Pasta: Don't play with the spicy level. It's not death spicy but it's a bit like Shin Ramen spicy. Would not recommend this dish for my non tolerant spicy people. Pasta is wonderful though, sauce was like uni cream, there were bits of masago (tiny fish eggs) to add a nice texture, 2-3 regular shrimp and a jumbo shrimp in the dish. Beet Tataki Salad: Would highly recommend for anyone! The beef was cooked so well, medium rare on the inside and the outside sliced edges were really crispy! Salad was refreshingly and dressed well with their vinaigrette, tomato, and shredded cheese. Gambas: Not my favorite dish. The sliced bread was presented in the skillet so bottom portion of the bread was overly greasy. There was too much olive oil at the bottom of the pan than necessary. Toasted whole garlic and olives, I think the only redeemable feature of the dish would be the shrimp.“

But Miss Shabu has the most friendly staff as they wrote on the menu notes on what foods I'm allergic to and which ones are good. They were very efficient with setting up our table of 16 and were flexible when we had less people than expected. The food was really good for a decent price. For dinner and drinks and tea, we spent about $50 and got 2 different soup bases, had many different types of sides, and plates on top of plates of meat. Definitely recommend this Shabu place if you were looking for one in Buena Park.“

“It's always the places tucked away in a corner that are the best. You would never see this place from the main road unless you go into the business park. I've only been once and tried the orange peel chicken with fried rice. They forgot my fried rice and gave me white rice but I live near by and they were quick to fix it when I came back. The quality and taste of the food keeps this a 5 star. The chicken didn't taste cheap or full of salt and didn't upset my stomach after like other places. I would surely come back!“

For the Fish fillet and Frog in Sichuan Mala Broth, it's the size for two people with many fish fillet and frogs inside the large pot. Though it's a little bit spicy, the proteins are pretty good with the fantastic taste. The staff told me that their boss asked them to add enough food to ensure customers' satisfaction. “It was our first time here and I have to say THE BROTH WAS SO SAVORY. We got the pho tai with the Mor special for an extra $4 which was a very good deal. They only have thin pho noodle here but the noodle was perfectly done. One of the thing about this place is that the portion was super huge compare to other pho places in OC. Service was great and fast during their rush hours. The restaurant has a very artsy and hipster vibe. We would definitely come back again when we are in the area for Knotts berry farm.“
