Great non-Mexico tacos! But so good. Crispy! Their burritos are fried so a little different. These old-school taco places are nostalgic and need to stay around. Service is always fast and friendly with reasonable prices. They make their own hot sauce, so it's pretty good. Go if not just for nostalgia.“

“I was in search of a good Chile Relleno Burrito and Google Maps suggested Calimex. I'm so glad it did! Easily one of the best I've ever had. The poblano chile was the star of the show. It was fresh and green, didn't taste heavily fried or buried underneath a ton of cheese. And the rice and beans packed a ton of flavor. Great flour tortilla too. It didn't look like the flour tortillas were homemade, but they were so fresh and delicious they could pass for homemade. Definitely a labor of love, the whole family is back there in the kitchen having a good time together and making incredible food. Will be back! Looked like a popular gathering spot for families and groups.“

““OMG, my sister recommended this restaurant as I picked her up from LAX, the food was authentic real Mexican food, beyond exquisite. The place gave me vibes of a fondita in Mexico, which I loved. The portions are perfect, the handmade tortillas were fire!! The quesadillas, beans and beef, chicharron guisado where delicious!!! Please try their pumpkin horchata!! The staff are so friendly too. I spent $40 on my sister and I. Well worth it!!!“

“Came to the fairly newly reopened El Bueno Gusto for dinner and happy that we did. As it was a nice night, we chose to sit in quaint patio area. We were brought out tasty chips and salsa and the attentive waitress took our drink order. Just fyi, beer and wine is only served inside.
We ordered the fish tacos and shrimp fajitas. Boy, they were extremely tasty, really fresh flavors. The beans and rice were good.
Prices were reasonable as well!
We will be back to try the asada and other meat dishes.

“I just came by after my dental appointment to check it out because it looked so cute inside. I ordered the detoxing juice and I wasn’t sure if I would like it but oh my goodness, the first sip was a long one because it was so good! I Wish I would have gotten the bigger size! “We had the hots for broiled chicken and it was very good, it wasn't dry, it didn't feel like the chicken had been sitting in shelf waiting for a customer to ask for chicken to have your chicken to be quickly served, the seasoning was very light while at the same time it was juicy, the one full chicken was served on a big plate served with French fries, a lettuce salad for $46 (maybe the two sparkling waters elevated the total price this high) the price itself is a downer for us not to go back. It was good, yet not a to die for finger licking type of full flavor chicken for that price.

The atmosphere was the best, we happened to arrive at a karaoke time, and since I lived in the Karaoke Capital of the world, which is Japan, I can tell you that this place is a gem when it comes to Karaoke for Spanish-speaking mature people that enjoy the 70's probably stretching all the way to the 90's romantic broken heart ballads and songs that have to do with, so if this is what you are into, you won't be disappointed, they have the best sound system and everyone was enjoying the good talented amateur singers.
