“Everything is fine, the detail is that it takes a little while to serve. The food has that homemade flavor, they sell Mexican and Salvadoran food. It is in a small town with very old buildings such as the train station. And how nice it is that everyone knows each other.
Parking: It is on a street where there are more shops, old ones that look like they are from the old West, and they park on the street.
Kid-friendliness: It is suitable for children because it is family-friendly.“

“My friend found this place on Yelp and wanted to give it a try, so we decided to stop by. It’s an Oaxacan restaurant known for their mole negro, which is one of their specialties.
I ordered the enchiladas de mole negro. I’m Peruvian, and the flavor wasn’t quite my personal preference, but I took the leftovers home and my husband who is Mexican and a big fan of mole absolutely loved it. So if you enjoy traditional mole, you’ll probably appreciate it.
My friend ordered the mole negro with rice and completely devoured her plate. She said she really enjoyed the flavor.
I also ordered the Oaxacan horchata, and that was a highlight for me. I loved it so much very refreshing and delicious.
The customer service was alright, a bit slow, but understandable since there was only one girl working the register and serving tables at the same time.
The restaurant itself is cozy, and the bathroom was clean, which I always appreciate.
Overall, it was a nice experience trying a traditional Oaxacan spot.“

“I’ve eaten at a lot of restaurants. I love Mexican food. I’ve even inspected restaurants for 30 years. My cousin ordered the Carnitas for a birthday party. It was the best I’ve ever had. Hands-down.“

“Legit Mexican food in Fillmore. We ordered a variety of tacos and a bean & cheese burrito. Everything was seasoned well. The carne asada was made with excellent quality meat becaise there was zero bone, gristle, or fat. Just 100% soft, tender deliciousness. Salsas were good, too. Would definitely recommend!“

“Stopped by Yolanda’s in Simi Valley for happy hour and it did not disappoint. 🍻 Great happy hour menu, nice cold beer, solid margaritas, and plenty of sports on the TVs. The place is clean, the crowd was good, and the waiters were friendly and attentive the whole time.
I had the corn burritos (almost went with taquitos!) and they were actually really good — flavorful and hit the spot.
Definitely a place I’ll come back to.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Okay let me just say one thing first, FIRE 🔥!!!! If you’re looking for the real deal authentic Mexican food that hits the spot every time without caring how much you spend because it’s so dang delicious, then this is the place you need to visit next! Their Micheladas are the best in town! Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself. Oh, their carnitas tacos, tortilla chips and salsa, chilaquiles, flautas de pollo, menudo, I mean the list goes on. Just trust me and give it a shot! 🙌🏼
Aside from the food, the staff & owners are amazing! They make you feel at home and like family!
Pic of food is when I ordered to go. Pic of beer was when I stopped by to dine in of course.“

“I love this place. I'm here whenever I'm in Simi. great food, great price. i recently posted a review for this restaurant, but today what I ordered was not what I usually get.
ive been coming here for sometime and today I ordered my usual carnitas and bean burrito. it was small and not the sane.
a restaurant is best measured by its quality and. consistently and the last few visits its been questionable.
im an ex chef and I look at the overall picture before criticizing, today I had no choice but to give them a thumbs down“

“Saw this place in the late spring when me & my wife were in town for a day trip but didn't eat here. So glad we came back. We were seated quickly and given chips & salsa. Our server was pleasant & welcoming. Next came the Mimosas and they were perfect. My wife & I both had the namesake Fiesta Plate which is taquitos (cut in half) wirh your choice of beef or chicken topped with chips & cheese quesadillas with salsa & quac in the middle. It was next level! Prices are really good also for the quality of the food. They're right in Fillmore's cool little downtown. Will definitely come back.“

“We were headed for Ojai this afternoon but a roadblock through the hills changed our plans. We checked out Santa Paula but nothing really stood out, so we headed towards Filmore and discovered Los Altos Mexican Restaurant - a hidden gem on Santa Clara Street. We really enjoyed our lunch with our patio seating and delicious food and margaritas. We highly recommend this restaurant and are glad our adventure led us to this terrific place!“

“I've been meaning to try the other places in the shopping center but it's hard to pass up Gaby's. Coworkers and I drive over there from Simi on our lunch break but it's easy with being able to call in our orders and have it ready when we arrive.“

“My Mom and I were in Moorpark for the afternoon (from Oxnard) and happened, by chance, to land here—glad we did!
All the various meats you could want are on offer, with shrimp and fish dishes available, too. We considered the prices reasonable.
Mom ordered a taco salad; I had a big plate of nachos with the meat on top split: half carnitas and half Chile Verde [no other eatery has made a point of offering me this half & half option, btw].
A well stocked, complimentary, self-serve display of salsas, chips, and marinated vegetables was much appreciated.
Our dishes were promptly brought out to our table. Mom's taco salad was not large to look at, but was packed full—she kept commenting about how delicious and fresh everything was (I agree) and enjoyed her beef. My nachos were loaded: carnitas were crispy, not greasy, and with more flavor than I have experienced at other places; the Chile Verde was succulent and scrumptious with a tangy sauce.
For unpretentious Mexican fare, Taqueria El Tapatio was really a delightful surprise for us. We're not Moorpark locals, but will be back when we can.“

“From the moment I walked in, the experience started on a great note—friendly service and a warm smile at the counter really set the tone. I ordered two crunchy tacos with rice, beans, and potatoes, and wow… these are hands-down some of the best crunchy tacos I’ve had in Simi Valley, and honestly, they rank among the best I’ve had anywhere.
The corn tortillas are homemade, and you can absolutely taste the difference. Perfectly crispy, fresh, and packed with flavor. I went with the shredded beef, which was tender, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. The presentation was on point—everything looked as good as it tasted.
The restaurant itself was calm and welcoming, yet clearly popular, with a steady flow of customers coming in and out—which tells you everything you need to know. Great food, great vibe, and solid consistency.
I’d easily give this place five stars and will definitely be back, especially for those crunchy tacos. Highly recommended if you’re in the area and craving legit Mexican food done right.“

“We had them cater my daughters birthday party with a taco bar. It came with 3 kinds of meats, tortillas along with all of the fixings and then some. All of my guests kept getting 3 and 4 plates of food. We have been in Moorpark for years and had not heard of them, until we were referred to them by the owners of Jaro’s (another local Moorpark eatery). I highly recommend you try and support this great local spot.“

“I had the same server as two years and ago and she’s still awesome. I wish I could remember her name :) I go every time I come to visit from Maryland. The food always hits the spot. I just miss the tree stumps. Other than that there’s 3 things to look forward to in Simi Valley-good friends, Smiley face hill and Jerry’s Coffee Shop. :)“

“I’ve been eating at Baja Fresh for over 20 years, and their bean and cheese burrito has always been a favorite—big, flavorful, and wrapped in a tortilla that just hits right every time. Their salsa bar is still top-notch. Honestly, I wish they sold this stuff at grocery stores.
We visited this location in February 2025, and the food tasted exactly as it should. But $10 for a bean and cheese burrito? Oof. Dropping $48 for three b&c burritos and two kids’ meals felt a little steep, but I guess that’s just the world we live in now.
The food took a few extra minutes to come out, but the real disappointment was that my 7-year-old didn’t finish their quesadilla. Even Moses had to pause for a moment of reflection. Double oof. Still, a solid experience and a good meal.“

Best I've tasted, with a sauce that included red an green bell peppers and onions with fried Japanese chiles. Great beans as well. On my way through Fillmore I will be stopping by“

“I order here often. Love the food.
Four stars because the Only negative is that since the price increase the portions have gotten A LOT SMALLER. THEY ARE HALF THE SIZE THEY USED TO BE.
Some people say the to go orders tend to be smaller as opposed to you standing there and watching them make it.“

“I stopped by this Kalaveras to take advantage of their happy hour. When I came, they were not busy at all. There was tons of parking spots near the front and barely any other guest inside. I sat at the bar area so I could watch the soccer game playing.
I got the spicy buffalo wings from the happy hour menu. I think it's a great deal because you get eight bone in buffalo wings. They also give chips and salsa as complimentary.
I like the chips and salsa, it had a nice spice to it. My buffalo wings came out quick and it was good to me. When I sat at the bar, the bartender used a fly zapper swatter to get the small flies around the bar area. It would discourage some guest but it didn't bother me.
The customer service I received here was great, I didn't have any issues when I was dining at the restaurant. There was no loud music that Kalaveras is known for when I was there but it could be because they save it for the night time.“

“The food is absolutely amazing. The fresh tortillas are delicious and my conchinitas combo plate was perfect.
They were insanely busy when we arrived, with the line to order going out the door and down the sidewalk. It was about a half hour wait to order and another 30-45 minutes for our food once we did order. Definitely worth the wait though.
They do run out of things due to high demand and the barbacoa that we were hoping to try was gone by noon on Sunday. We will definitely be back so we can try the famous barbacoa.
The only thing I didn't love was how loud the music videos were. It was very distracting.“
