“This is a hidden gem in Placerville. The precious Somm refer me to come here as he mentioned they have good reds here. The wines I tasted was good, but the thing was they have food here. I had the duck confit nachos and the spinach salad. Both dishes were surprisingly delicious for a winery kitchen. Beautiful tasting room but small. Outside patio and view of the lake is amazing. Stacey was personable and knowledgeable. She also invited me back for future events. Definitely a good stop for tasting and eating if visiting Placerville.

“This winery is one of the best! We visited for a wine tasting and the gentleman was so informative about the wines and how they are harvested, we couldn’t get enough of his knowledge! The wines, all six, that we selected on our own were excellent! We will probably join the club when we get home! Also, there is a picnic area that you can purchase a charcuterie board or cheese and crackers, spreads and dips to sit down and enjoy with your bottle of wine! It’s fantastic!“

“I went to Annie's for the first time today and ordered the Mexicali sandwich and fries. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sandwich had just the right amount of spiciness to it with the chipotle sauce and jalapenos. The fries were amazing and crispy too. Everyone that works there was very attentive and super friendly. I live right around the corner and I will definitely be back to try the breakfast and mimosas. I told my husband it was a 10 out of 10.“

“This place continues to go downhill in my opinion. We have been going there for years. But the last year we have stopped going much at all because the service is very hit and miss. A few good servers here and there. The food had also started to be not as good. We decided to try it again and for me this is probably the last time. The serving size for the price is pitiful. Especially the ridiculously small kids pizza for $12. It was burnt on the bottom besides. The garden sandwich sounded very good but was pitiful and served on a dry bun. The service was adequate but not friendly. Just disappointing again. This used to be one of my favorite places.“

“My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner with warm personal service. We had a nice view of the Main street in Placerville from our second floor overlook table. Great food, excellent service and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend the strawberry Panna cotta with chocolate mousse for dessert. Great personal service from the owner!! Very friendly. “We went to this place today for the first around lunch time. Took someone a while to greet us and take our order but that's understandable considering it was about 4-5 orders in front of us.... they seemed short staffed. The burgers were great and the fries were hot. I asked for a ranch and was charged $1 per container. I don't understand if someone spends $40 on 2 burgers, 2 drinks, and 1 French fry.... why would they be charged for 1 condiment? I understand that every dollar counts but that's ridiculous. If you have to charge 1$ for the container, maybe you should do smaller servings and give away a courtesy container per customer before charging. This practice alone will drive a potential, repeated costumer away. Not saying I will not return, but I'll think twice.“

“Today was my third or fourth visit to Starfield Vineyards. I missed their custom of greeting you with a glass of sparkling when you enter their tasting room. I was also disappointed to hear that the kitchen had been closed as a recall, how incredible our meals were in the past.
That being said, atmosphere, environment and views cannot be beaten. I love that there’s walking paths to explore their vineyards, and of the lake with the lily pads.
We enjoyed the charcuterie plate however were charged extra when we asked to add the Manchego cheese which we’d had on the last visit. Joe was our server and he seemed well educated with all the wines. My favorite wine of the pouring was Big Canyon.
When we reached the lake we learned it was National Grenache Day (who knew?) so were each poured a nice taste of their Grenache.“

“Unbelievable food! I am so excited to have discovered this foothill gem on a whim. The Place is a little out of the way, but WELL worth the trip. It wouldn't be a stretch to say this is the best food in El Dorado County. The cuisine is Italian fusion rather than straight Italian, but it works incredibly well! Make sure you start with the Piemontese Bagna Cauda (AKA "Hot Bath"). It's the best flat bread you'll ever have, without hyperbole: crispy outside, wonderfully doughy inside. For main courses… take your pick. The pizza— traditional Napoli Italian style— is perfect, no matter which one you choose. The other entrees are just as good. Don’t be put off by the use of polenta in place of traditional pasta. I was skeptical at first, but the first bite washed away all misgivings. These people know how to cook! Bene, Cirino’s, Sergio’s, Three Forks… all the best Italian places in the foothills will have to fight for second place.“
