“Catalina Kitchen is the main dining room for the very upscale Terranea Resort, which sports several dining experiences, from causal beach front to fine dining, with a price tag to match. Catalina Kitchen falls in the middle. The food there was a very high quality, although on our Monday evening visit the menu was limited. No specials on Monday. What was outstanding was the excellent service we received. Our waiter, Juan, was superb; attentive, not overbearing, helpful, and went out of his way when we made an unusual desert request. All the staff, from the bar, to the bellhops at the main entrance, who insisted on driving me to the free public parking, which I chose over the pricey valet parking, were friendly, and authentically cheerful. Altogether, a great experience.“

“I got the mushroom carne asada bowl and the hibiscus drink. I’m not vegan but this is one of my favorite restaurants in LA. The owner is lovely. The food is delicious and portions are big! These bowls aren’t just rice and some toppings, it’s a great balance of every ingredient. The drinks are perfectly sweet and refreshing. The seating outside is comfy and relaxed. I recommend this to anyone local or visiting!!! Check them out!“

“Been stopping by Tommy & Atticus since they opened in July. The country, round sour dough is our family favorite. We've tried morning sun citrus pastry (my fav), jalapeno/cheddar sour dough bread, lunch pizza & sandwiches. Great place, great customer service.“

“The ambience of the restaurant is really nice and the staff were very friendly. Brian H was our waiter and he was very nice - since it was my first time at the restaurant he gave us some Pura Vita pins and stickers which was a nice surprise. I enjoyed all of the food we ordered and would come back and try more dishes.“

“Tive uma experiência maravilhosa no Oakberry de Hermosa. O atendimento foi incrível, an Alex nos recebeu de forma muito acolhedora e simpática, explicou tudo sobre o açaí. Ela também compartilhou suas dicas de toppings favoritos, que foram um grande sucesso. O açaí estava delicioso, e a equipe foi super atenciosa. Definitivamente, um lugar para voltar!“

“Their food is so tasty. We tried the mergez sandwich with their French baguette and sautéed potatoes. We loved it. We also had a café crème with a delicious mille feuille (French pastry). their staff is very friendly. They do their best to make you feel comfortable. I definitely recommend this place.“

“The service at this place was phenomenal. I was craving aglio olio e peperoncino and asked if they could make it for me even though it was not on their menu, and they did. It did taste great ? the mussel and veal dishes were satisfying but not phenomenal though.“

“Great food, fast service. The waitress was friendly and they kept our coffee and water filled. The food was fresh although they weee out of asparagus and shrimp for my omelette. I had a vegetable mix that I selected myself. It came out just a few minutes after we ordered. The ham & eggs were great, too. The ham was bone in and thick. This place is a hidden gem.“

“All gluten free desserts! The most popular pastry is the Almond Brioche, it was delicious and different, made with rice flour, served slightly warm and moist inside. We like it that it's not overly sweet. For coffee, we ordered a large mocha, it's on the smaller side, but it's wonderful and also not overly sweet. The service was prompt and friendly. Environment was clean and relaxing. Outdoor seating is a plus, especially for dog-owners.“

“Can't go wrong with complimentary fresh baked bread served warm. Love Fritto Misto. We've dined in a few times and ordered takeout once. All experiences have been fantastic with staff & food, although on one visit my sauce was broken and I should have sent it back but definitely not a deterrent from future visits. Pasta is definitely made in house along with pretty much everything else. Some of the specials & really complex pasta dishes can be on the pricier side. I appreciate how affordable the simple choose your pasta & sauce option is. They don't accept reservations. This spot can be really busy during normal dinner times but if you go before 6:30 you can generally get a table easily, no problem. If you take any of their pasta to go and need to reheat it, do it on the stove & not in the microwave..“

“Very simple place but very nice selection of Mochi. Reminded me when I was a kid. Remember only Cash and Checks had to go across the street to the market to get cash. They are going to make a great present for our neighbors who just went to Japan on vacation.“

“I can’t say enough about Lido! I personally love the food, atmosphere and staff. I have also had several events in the back patio area, including a monthly Kiwanis meeting, and they are always seamless. Lisa, Carlos, Javier and the rest of the team always make sure everything runs smoothly. If you are just going to dinner or throwing a party this is a great spot!“
“The pasta at this restaurant was absolutely delicious! The noodles were perfectly cooked and the sauce was rich and flavorful. The service was also top-notch and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a tasty pasta meal.“

“Many of the workers do not know a lot of basic questions regarding cakes and prices. I’ve ordered some drinks here over years and .. when a cup needs to be replaced before giving it to customers please do that because several times the cups are leaking every time you take a sip. Please be better at that. Thanks.“
“I've had a few cakes from this bakery and they are delicious. The bakery is very cute, def a neighborhood gem. The cakes are large and feed a good amount of people. I like that they can do vegan and everything is decorated beautifully.“

“Super fast, delicious, healthy - I’m so sad I didn’t find this place sooner. The chickpeas were fire, I can’t wait to try the meat options. One note is the place seems to have rebranded to “South Bay Eats” from “Ben’s Fast Food” as of writing this review, so I was a little confused finding it at first.“

“Lazt Dog is a great place in Torrance. Bar area is very nice, with several large TV's. Bar can be a little crowded, should remove a couple of stools to make it a little more roomy. Outdoor area looks really nice, but it.was a 40 min wait, so I opted for the bar. Food looked good. I had the Baja California burger, with the Apple Cider Slaw. Burger was done very well. wasnt very hot, as the bartender indicated, but it was good. Recommend leaving off the lettuce and tomato. There is a good amount of sauce on the burger, and the lettuce and tomato turn it into a slippery, drippy, hard to eat mess. But it was a really good burger. I will just leave those two items off next time. Beer was great, nice and cold. Bartenders were fantastic. they engaged with all the bar people. Kept water and beer filled. Overall, I will go back. There are a fee other items on the menu I want to try. Also want to check out the outdoor area.“

“This place is incredible. I dined here with my vegetarian son twice in five days, but I’m not a vegetarian. I didn’t miss the meat whatsoever. The food was seasoned so deliciously that it was simple to eat healthier. The texture and flavor of their “meat impostors” will trick your palate! My only criticism was the bathroom was not exactly the cleanest! Given the quality of the food, this seems like an easy fix!Vegetarian options: Nothing bland here!Parking: Several parking spotsKid-friendliness: Space for childrenWheelchair accessibility: Space for wheelchair or walker“

“I've been going to both locations for years, but this one is more convenient for me. I love everything that they bake. My favorite is the cookies. But they also made my wedding cake. I made an appointment at the Torrance location for that. It was beautifully decorated just as I requested with different flavors on each tier: red velvet with cream cheese, yellow with strawberries and whip cream, and banana with custard. Everyone raved about it! Back to the cookies. I usually go to the Gardena location for my fix. They have a cookie special on Wednesday, but I can't remember what it is. The chocolate chip cookies are great. Pro tip: get the bag of cookies vs. individual ones for a better price. The fudge chews are a cross between a brownie and a cookie. We call them brookies. They make a maple one as well. But my favorite cookie is the peanut butter. They're slightly crispy but also soft. They also make great custom cookies and cakes, donuts, petit fours, small pastries. I'm sure there's something for everyone with a sweet tooth.“

“I’m soo impressed with the food and service at this place. I just casually visited this morning for breakfast. I felt healthy after having their balanced breakfast of scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and potatoes full of flavor with fresh fruits. The organic coffee just hit the spot. I accidentally skipped the tip portion when I made the payment through their machine, and despite me requesting a reswipe, they gladly said it’s fine. I can’t wait to go back there and pay a double tip for their exceptional service and value for money food.“

“The gentleman who answered my call last week was outstanding. Because I was on a short layover in LA, I did not have the chance to go in person, as with my previous trips. I, therefore, ordered through Ubereats. I was looking for an item not offered as an option and also had a question about doughnut ingredients. Although, I am certain I gave off a harried vibe, he was so pleasant and accommodating. He offered to assemble my order and said he would start prepping, so the delivery driver could grab and go. My entire order was in perfect condition when I received it. Thank you so much! Thank you also for including the store receipt, so that I know how outrageous the sum of fees I paid for delivery were! YIKES. Hopefully, Sidecar will one day offer local delivery, so that the well-deserved profits can stay in house.“

“The good:I had a red rooibos tea latte, chocolate chip brioche muffin and a custard cream and strawberry croissant from here for my birthday breakfast. The latte was great and wasn't watery nor too sweet. The custard cream was eggy and delicious. I liked that the tea was caffeine free because I'm nursing and trying to avoid caffeine. My toddler enjoyed the brioche muffin. They have so many delicious pastries to choose from. The croissant was flaky and the cream inside wasn't too thick or runny. The powdered sugar on top made it aesthetically pleasing. The bad:The brioche was just okay. It was a little confusing how it looks like a mini muffin with the texture of bread. They have something called a croissant cube that I'd love to try next time. The interesting:Rooibos tea's packed with antioxidants and is supposedly pretty healthy!“

Everything was delivered to our table on time we weren’t rushed. Everything was delicious and well prepared. The food is very very good. Amazing actually. “Best meal I've had in years. Every once in a while you stumble upon a place like this. This hits my sweet spot for a restaurant. Nothing pretentious or fancy for no reason. Just super high quality food, prepared with care and creativity. Every dish we had was excellent. Just the right balance of flavors and textures: not too salty, sweet, or strong. Everything cooked to perfection - fried mushrooms were just cooked enough on the inside but not overcooked, and perfectly crisp on the outside. The kabocha squash was the perfect texture. We loved the chunky cut cucumber dish, unique! Lobster miso ramen was so delicious and creative! Who has ever heard of that? So much I want to learn from this chef. Even the plain brown rice was perfectly prepared. You can taste the quality in the ingredients, probably local and organic. Service was perfect, just attentive enough without ever interrupting. Top 3 most memorable meals I've ever had. I get the sense the chef here could have Michelin stars if they wanted that, but have opted for a less stressful and pretentious operation. I'm so glad they chose this path. Truly fantastic experience. Had a wonderful date with my girlfriend!Dietary restrictions: Dedicated gluten free, 0 reaction.“

“I stumbled upon this bakery because I was tired of donuts and wanted something different. The Lady at the counter was very nice and answered my questions. I had the mocha croissant, the Madeline and apricot and strawberry little jam containers. The croissant comes pretty close to the ones in France. The croissant was very flaky and tasty. I’m glad I stumbled across it and it brings back memories of France.“

“This is my FAVORITE smoothie bowl place in California. Saying that they are perfect is an understatement. Their fruit is beyond fresh, juicy, and sweet. Every time I visit Manhattan Beach, Paradise Bowls is a must-stop location for my friends and I. (As seen in the pictures below I've gone 3+ times and that shows how good they are). My favorite bowl here is the Peach Bum bowl, its ingredients are super well-curated and the fruits complement each other perfectly. The menu is pretty extensive and goes beyond just smoothie bowls. The prices are pretty affordable and typical for a smoothie bowl, around $10 for a size small. My photos feature the small size and there is still a pretty big portion despite its "small" labeling. The service is good, with staff being efficient. The bowls came out pretty quickly! The ambiance of the store is super cute, beachy, and has a surf shack vibe to it, perfect for the beach! The views right next to the store are extremely gorgeous featuring the Manhattan Beach coastline. This store is located close to the sand, where you can bring your bowls to picnic right next to the Pacific waves.“

“RAISING THE TASTEBUDS (5 stars + meteor shower + starlink satellites) "5 for $15 and get the 6th one free!" (It's actually 6 for $15, but the other way sounds more enticing) ... SAY LESS!!! Take my money. You had my heart when I locked eyes on the Cannele de Bordeaux from a distance. I haven't had one in many years and hoped their version was how I remembered them. Tiny, brown, sweet, hints of rum, carmelized coat with a slightly chewy and slightly crunchy outside, soft and dense on the inside, and custardy in the middle. Although I've had them in other places none hit the same. Until... I discovered the Bread Bar! They are at the Little Italy Farmers market in SD on Saturdays and at the Santa Monica Farmers market. And indeed, their version of it is PERFECT!!! Gave me an O-face and sent me to heaven. Yummy. :: Backstory :: Cannele de Bordeaux are my favorite French pastry... my favorite pastry... in the entire world. They are hard to acquire as they are not always found in the states. I use to treat myself to them at a French bakery in SF when I had one of those really good days that deserved a reward. I was quite obsessed with them. I was gifted with a set of Mauviel M'Passion Copper Molds (have yet put to use all these years to make my own but love to marvel at as a fixture in my kitchen cabinet). Can't wait to pick up my 6!“

“After a good light lunch we had talked about having dessert which the restaurant we are at had none. Being in El Segundo, I knew the place for that. A couple miles away we were at Nothing Bundt Cakes. I've been to the Torrance location which frankly feels like a real dour place in a real dour location. The location on Rosecrans was much better and uplifting. Suits for sweet stuff... as it should be! They have a wide variety of flavors of cakes, cupcakes, and mini cupcakes. We opted to share a cupcake over coffee at Philz Coffee across the street (you may see my 5 star review of Philz Coffee also). We chose the red velvet. I believe anyone of those flavors that had would be great for coffee but the red velvet was not very sweet which was perfect! Can't go wrong here. They even have gift stuff to choose from. Not to mention that these cakes and cupcakes are perfect gifts and great to take to family or friend gatherings!!!“
“I was trying to place an online order. However, since I was in the area, I walked in myself. Nothing Bundt Cakes is nestled in a corner plaza. small parking area. However, I had no issue. I walked in and immediately received help. I needed more than a few minutes to decide what I was actually going to choose.Wow, this can be dangerous! they have a Reese's Peanut Butter bunt cake {rolling eyes} I just ordered all 6 that were available. I need someone to help me stop, lol. It is most definitely easy to buy with our eyes. Especially it being Valentine's Day.Actually, I'm here to get something for my neighbor she has been such a sweetheart, there was a cute 2 pack bundts together, ready for a gift chocolate chip, and lemon was in that there are several flavors for every palette you can not go wrong.!One thing I I ordered 3 RCP Assorted Buntinis at $88.00 those specifically with the stakes displaying true love, hug me, and whatnot with Maya specifically So after I got home, I realized they did not have them. So since I did not get to see in the box as everything came back packed.Next time, I will look inside. Save me the time and any errors occurring. I was not charged for them as they were an add on of 8.00 I was informed after I phoned even tho they were requested.“

“I love this cute little donut shop! I stopped by for my first time not too long ago and ordered a latte and a couple of donuts. I can honestly say the vanilla latte was the best latte I’ve ever had. They made that thang with LOVE. Staff is super friendly and very helpful. Didn’t know what donuts to decide on but luckily they had samples and the girl helping me made some suggestions. I settled on a celebration donut and the saigon cinnamon crumb. Holy damn they were soooo good. My son completely annihilated the celebration. The flavor was immaculate with a light and sweet hint of almond. The cinnamon crumb is to die for. It was nice and warm like a hug. So yummy. I will definitely keep coming back.Kid-friendliness: Staff suggested donut that’s popular with the kiddos.“

“I have been ordering at Umami Express for a while now and it is such a life saver for busy weekdays. I am trying to lose weight and their food is so filling but guilt free - saved me from ordering unhealthy fast food. My fave so far is the chicken bowl, I add chestnuts and cucumbers. The texture is so good and the lemon garlic sauce is good as well. I did try the spicy sauce on time and it is not for me. One improvement I guess I would ask is if there is a way that the calories are stated in the website when I do my online order? I have never been in the restaurant, so I cannot tell for sure if they have it there. With my need to be more calorie conscious that will be a fantastic help. :-)“
“The good:I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! I tried an ice cream sandwich here and thought it was enjoyable. It's interesting how you can get two different types of cookies for the sandwich. The location is prime because it's located right off Hermosa Beach pier. It's a great stop to get dessert that you can enjoy along the beach. For my cookies I got cookies and cream (Oreo cheesecake flavored) and cookie of the month (I cannot recall what flavor this was). I got blackberry crumble as the ice cream. They have vegan ice cream options. The flavors are mostly classic. You can add toppings and get your cookies hot pressed. The bad:The cookie was smaller than I expected and the sandwich didn't hold its shape. You don't eat it like an ice cream cookie sandwich. Instead, they serve it on a paper plate with a spoon. It's pricey. The interesting:They have locations throughout the US. You can order in advance online.“

“I cool spot to stopby if you're around the area. Totally free to come in and they don't even pester you for donations. I enjoyed the art and learned a bit of history from some of the places in Palos Verdes. It's pretty small but can't complain since it's free. Plenty of parking outside and it was pretty empty when I came on Saturday. Will probably spend about 10-15 minutes.“
