Very well done Chinese noodle soups with a Taiwanese flavor. and pot stickers in a bao bun? It's a must try. Don't forget the honey green tea too- it will keep you awake.“

“Food is delicious and fragrant. Chili oil is authentic and actually has spice and taste, not that mild stuff other places have. The beef in the fried noodle dish is tender and delicious, the sauce is fragrant. Cats ear noodle did take a longer time to make, but it's all hand made. Can't complain.
My husband got the lamb organ soup and the broth is milky white. The soup is extremely clear tasting and not gamey. Hand pulled noodle texture is on point. Not too soft, chewy.
Speciality fried pork was great and had that authentic north west vinegar sauce and taste.
There was a super annoying customer last night and the staff handled the situation very well. My husband was annoyed for the staff. Props to the restaurant. 10/10.
If you're dining in for the first time:
-Staff does not speak English, do some research on Xian cuisine and checkout their menu beforehand so you understand what dishes to expect
-They accept cash
-Water is self service
-Staff is not intentionally being rude, there's a cultural difference between Chinese and western dining service
-They don't bring utensils out because they're already at your table
-If you have any type of food allergies or dietary restrictions it's up to YOU to figure it out and not the staff“

“They’re new, 6 months old .
It is a Cantonese restaurant that serves some faves.
I got the rice roll with beef stew. That was really good!
The salted chicken rice was ok, nothing g to rave about. Hope they serve with more chicken.
Not to miss is the chili sauce. It is the garlicky spicy variety.“

“The place has a cozy, vintage charm, perfect for relaxing with friends over a few drinks and some freshly grilled skewers. Every skewer was perfectly seasoned and cooked — smoky, juicy, and full of flavor. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. A must-visit spot if you love good food and a great atmosphere!“

“I’ve been wanting to try out this place in such a long time and finally bit the bullet last week. Upon reading their extensive menu, we noticed a lot of similarities with DTF but at a slightly cheaper price point , plus short wait. Everything we ended up trying was solid! The xiao long bao had thin wrappers with a rich, flavorful broth inside — definitely some of the better ones I’ve had in the SGV. The beef rolls were flaky and crispy. The lobster abalone soup stole the show — it’s visually stunning and actually packed with deep seafood flavor. The sides rounded out the meal perfectly. Garlic string beans and honey walnut shrimp were delicious. Always a hit with our family. We left SO full and happy 😁
This place does get crowded, so highly recommend visiting earlier (closer to opening time).“

“If you like good comfort Vietnamese food then this is your spot. I always bring my family here when I come to visit. The food is always delicious and low price. We fed a family of 10 for a reasonable price. It's a local family-owned restaurant with food that lives up to family cooking. While the decor may not be very fancy they are slowly upgrading. The owner Nancy is very nice. Try the red macaroni with tender beef, the braised catfish, banh xeo and more. So yummy.“

“Pho Kho (dry noodles) with chicken was good and flavorful. Garlic noodles with grilled shrimp was delicious but a bit pricey; more noodles would have been better for the price. Complimentary tapioca dessert was tasty.
Service was good and attentive.“

“Good food , good place, good price 。“
“the best food I've had in LA is also the cheapest. thank goodness for this lovely couple. They have made-to-order plates and choose-your-items buffet. Probably the most amount of food you'd ever get for the price (buffet). I feel like I'm getting closer to Taiwan! :)
pork (belly?) and curry chicken were amazing!
if this kind of place doesn't exist in San Jose / south SF Bay / Santa Cruz, then I'm not going!“

“The service here was pretty nice, and I love how new the restaurant looks. The food was also pretty good too. My family loved it. However, the porridge we ordered was a little watery, but everything else was so tasty and we'll never forget our last dinner meal around the L.A county area!“
“Beef Chow Fun ($11) + $4 extra beef. Thats enough food for 2 hearty meals. Add a little chili oil and 🔥🔥🔥
Even without the extra beef, it's still two meals. Just have to ration the beef.
Best cheap eats when they have it. Hours and availability are weird. Mainly a breakfast lunch place. I've been before and they ran out of noodles.“

“Reading these 1 star reviews really makes me upset. I have been a regular JTYH patron since 2013 and just got takeout from here today (Feb-26). They are a rare restaurant that hasn’t heavily increased prices AND maintained generous portions, even after COVID.
My top recs are the pan fried pork buns, the best I have ever had. The dough is perfectly cooked and the meat inside is delicious and huge, generous portion. I also love their beef rolls, (also my favorite I’ve ever found), because they have a good helping of veggies and sauce (and beef of course) so it’s not dry like so many other places. Then I also get their sliced pork ears as an appetizer.
I do like their fried noodle dishes and noodle soups (though I wouldn’t claim these are the best in SGV). They are still worth a try and a solid option to round out your meal.
For the past four years, the restaurant has been pretty quiet whenever I get takeout, usually dinner time. Parking is very easy (bc it is in a lot with other tenants that are closed by then). I have zero issues w their (not particularly warm) service. They make good food and pack it well and have it all ready to go when I need it!“

“Years ago my mom randomly came to this store after a gig in the area, and she was shocked by how good it was.
We happened to be in the area again, and my mom INSISTED on coming here. We ordered number 1 and some cucumbers. Clean, rich flavors. We got mild, and while there’s a kick it isn’t overwhelming. Numbing spice though!
Cucumbers were fresh, salty and rich on the outside and crisp.
Unassuming interior, delicious meal.“

“You can’t go wrong with a bowl of ramen from Shin-Sen-Gumi. I’ve been coming here for years and it still hits. I always get the Hakata Red w/ corn (no bean sprouts). The chashu slices are hidden, but they’re in there. Great customer service as well!“

“I tried this place because my friend recommended it. When I walked in, I was welcomed by the flavorful smell of the broth. I ordered the rice cake with egg, the beef sauté sauce with rice noodles, and the fish ball seaweed noodle with thick egg noodles. Personally, I really liked the fish ball noodles, especially after adding their in-house garlic chili oil. The beef sauté noodle sauce was on the heavier side and very peanutty. The rice cake was a little too soft for my liking, but it was still pretty good.“

“Consistently the best roast duck (not to be confused with Peking duck) even in SGV (San Gabriel Valley). Always juicy, tender, and amazingly tasty. We only take out from this store, but we do it regularly. I have no idea what the service is like or the physical plant, as my wife is always the one to go in to get the duck. Oh, the chicken chow fun dry is also consistently tasty, generous, with tender pieces of chicken. I don't know if chicken chow fun is even on the menu. Most places only list beef chow fun, but if you ask for chicken at Sam Woo, you get a very tasty dish.“
