Tastes authentic and do-able. 4.5 star food. On Both take out orders, the skewers felt a little cooler than I was expecting to be fresh off the grill. But the taste is good and portion is much larger than Little Skewers, so this alone makes it feel more worth it to return. 3 star service. Service was average typical China-Chinese, non-American style. Waited quite a long time to order take out as they seems to be busy & short staffed Friday night around 10 pm. Ordered again next evening on Saturday around 5:30 pm and barely any customers at that time so the order was fast. 3 star other. Friday night, the restaurant dining area and the whole plaza, in general, smells like cigarettes. So many smokers seem to hang out in that plaza at that time. Not a pleasant smell walking around. The restaurant also habitually leaves cardboard containers and boxes out on the walkway (right outside the restaurant kitchen door) which makes the restaurant look very China-ghetto. I wish they didn't do that. Is that even legal to be leaving trash out on the walkway like that? So the standard of cleanliness and organization brings down the restaurant a notch. Overall, I would return from time to time if I happen to feel like it.“

“If you haven’t been here before the setup might be confusing. You should head all the way to the back, go to the cashier, tell him the number of people, get a table number from him, and then get a bowl and start putting stuff you want in the bowl. The bowl is weighed and charged by the pound, but you don’t pay until you’re done eating. Then you hand the bowls to the cashier to order what type of soup you want. They hand you order numbers and you go to your table and just wait for them to bring you food. You can also make sauces at the sauce station. When you’re finished, bring your bowls back to the front and pay.Also note that you get one tong for picking up all the foods, so if cross contamination is a concern or you have food allergies, this might not be the best place to go.The lady in the front was not helpful and just shouted Chinese at us and acted like we were in her way for not knowing the rules. Some of the customers tried to help us too, but they should really just post the rules outside the store or in front of the front door to help newcomers. I think if you look East Asian, they will assume you speak Mandarin, so you should mention that you don’t speak it to clear the air. I would come here right after they open to dodge the wait. I overheard roughly 30 minutes wait when I was leaving so not sure how bad it could get. If i was to return I just get noodles straight up, I feel like the other stuff just distracts from the main event. Bae couldn't eat hers because she comes from a place (new england) where people say stuff is too spicy because there is PEPPER in the dish. Like, the pepper you have at your house. I cooked a dish with pepper once and her mom wouldn't eat it for that reason.Also the service was good, they actually called us because they were out of something we ordered and wanted to make sure they gave us a refund or something else.Unless you are a monster two people can split one dish here, any dish. The popcorn chicken serving here is huge, and the chicken is really moist and flavorful. I get mild spice and it's pretty spicy imo! The beef noodle soup is also a favorite of mine. I love the chewiness of the noodles and the beef chunks always fall apart. The drinks are served in huuuge cups so that's also very worth the price. “When thinking of soup in the Pasadena area we have our favorite places. Last Friday evening we tried this fairly new Ramen place that has been open about two years. When walking in we were greeted and seated quickly. The place was not so busy for a Friday evening but later more customers did arrive which is a good sign. We were seated and the menu was simple and prices were in the range of other soup restaurants in the area. We got our water and tea quickly and the servers kept our water glasses full. Very attentive staff. My wife ordered the gyoza and the Tonkatsu ramen and I had the Shoyu Ramen. Food was delicious and if you don't like your food too salty, get the more creamier Tonkatsu Ramen. My Shoyu ramen had spinach which was surprisingly delicious.The food portions looked small but once we started eating they were very hearty portions. I was not able to finish my noodles.We will definitely be back as they also have Mazesoba here which is dry noodles with egg. Can't wait to try these dishes.“

It was a pretty good sized bowl. We also tried the beef roll and it was very, very good. I expected it to be greasier because of the pancake and sweeter because of the hoisin but it wasn't. It was perfectly balanced between meat, pancake and the scallions and cilantro. It even came with some chili oil to make each bite extra tasty. The food was nicely portioned, perfect for family style and everything was fresh and very delicious. The decor was modern and very clean. 5 adults and 2 toddlers left very full and satisfied with left overs to boot.
