“I really did not want to like this establishment. We lived in Redlands for more than ten years and never once visited until this past Sunday. Tartan of Redlands just never stood out. The only reason why we are here was because someone else chose this location.

The inside was really dark—perfect if someone needs to have a good cry or a bad hair day. The tables were dimly lit with one candle per table. The waitress was friendly and helped us with waters and making recommendations for food options. So far, the impression was lackluster.

While the everything was greatly overcharged, the food actually made up for it. We ordered a porterhouse steak, medium-rare and opted for two sides (French fries and vegetables) rather than the house soup. A good measure of a restaurant is whether or not they can cook to the requested temperature. The medium-rare was in fact a medium-rare—juicy, tender with a warm pink center. An even better measure of a restaurant is how they prepare their vegetables. The porterhouse came with asparagus and carrots that were roasted and seasoned with sweet caramelization and crispy exterior.

I definitely want to come back in a Saturday to try their prime rib.“

“Absolutely the best place to treat yourself for a special occasion. The $55 Wagyu Burger was as delicious as I expected it to be and the deserts were a great finishing touch. Service was exceptional, friendly and professional. Staff, including Sommelier, were all knowledgeable for all products.“

“Beautiful steakhouse located within the Mission Inn resort in downtown Riverside. Historic site, which added to the experience. Better than walking down some shopping center. Everybody was really nice. Got us to our table quickly. Warm bread offered right away. Cocktails and extensive wine list available. We had the crab croquettes, lobster bisque and Caesar salad to start off all was amazing large pieces of crab in the croquette and plenty of lobster in the bisque. Ribeye was cooked to perfection and lots of options for sides. Again the staff was very attentive of even helped me find a link that came off my treasure. Celebrated my wedding anniversary as we were married at this hotel, enjoyed reminiscing about such a wonderful day at this amazing venue.
