I recommend the lentil loaf, colossal kale salad, flautas, and the orange cauliflower lo mein among others, and I hear the breakfast items (served all day) are excellent. Arlene is a fantastic server. In addition to the mostly vegan items, the eclectic menu also recently added some vegetarian but non-vegan entrees and even fish. This has drawn some unfair criticism. Please keep in mind that times are very difficult now for restaurants, and at least doubly so for vegetarian and vegan restaurants. If the inclusion of a few non-vegan items helps keep this gem of an eatery with a predominantly vegan/vegetarian menu afloat, then all the better for all of us.“

In general, customer service is not very friendly. They are only involved in their work and don't take the time to say hello or say thank you for the purchase.“

“We have been working with Haute Chefs LA for at least 9 years!
Haute Chefs are always the first on my list when I have to cater a dinner or event.

Their prices are incredibly reasonable for everything you get, but lets be honest, we're here to talk about their food. Their food is always delicious and portions VERY generous. Their presentation is also something you can't forget about, we eat with our eyes first.

They have also become very conscientious of people's dietary needs over the years that I never have trouble finding gluten-free or vegan options on their menu for those with dietary restrictions.

I was going to list some of my personal favorites, but then the list got very long. However, you can't go wrong with their roasted cauliflower, steak & shrimp. Their charcuterie & cheese board is also very beautiful and delicious with the freshest in-season fruits. Their menu has something for everyone, and they are willing to take any other adjustment should you need them for one reason or another.

Definitely worth having them cater your next event/dinner, etc.“

“My wedding was about two months ago at Hummingbird Nest Ranch, and David and his team were beyond incredible! From our very first meeting, he was welcoming and attentive. The food tasting was such a lovely experience, and he thoughtfully applied every single note we shared.

The ingredients were fresh, the service was top-notch, and his staff was both professional and friendly. Beyond catering, David truly cared for the entire flow of the venue—his experience in the wedding industry really shined, especially since many of my other vendors were beginners.

During the reception, he was constantly walking around, checking in, and making sure every table was taken care of. That level of attention gave me so much peace of mind on such an important day.

“Jeff catered my wedding and I could not ask for a better caterer. The first thing I loved about Mr. Ardi's was the menu. It's comprehensive. You can pretty much get anything you want, and he'll still have some surprises! I actually didn't get much of an opportunity to enjoy the food itself, being the groom, but it was all delicious. Jeff was great to work with. He and my wedding planner pretty much took care of everything for us. Jeff and the staff were great and we all had a wonderful time! Highly recommended!“

“This is my favorite late night snack. I get the carne asada tacos with avocado salsa on the side. The best carne asada tacos!! The flavor is delicious. They are consistent so it’s always delicious. I put my friend on and now she’s hooked. I legit crave this truck!

Parking: Parking is fair

Kid-friendliness: It’s a taco truck so you can take your kids however it is on a public street so always be safe and hold tight to your babies. There are street sleepers around.“

“Contemporary Catering is incredible. Period. Hire them. It will be the best decision you make. It certainly was ours. My (now) wife and I spent over a year planning our wedding weekend and Rob, Rachel, and, of course, Chef Nate, were there for us every step of the way. First, the food: It is 5-stars, no joke. I am a “foodie” and a bit of a self-admitted food snob. Honestly, I would drive an hour daily to Encino to eat in their test kitchen 7 days a week if they would let me. Even now, three weeks after our wedding, our guests continue to rave to me about the food (pro tip: you NEED to serve the mini chicken and waffles appetizer). Trust me when I tell you that their execution was flawless and the quality was exquisite. Second, the people: You will not find a more invested, passionate, and sincere team of individuals who love what they do and are so good at it. They are unbelievably responsive, overly generous with their time, extremely attentive to detail and endlessly patient. Without a doubt, we can say that thanks to Contemporary our wedding day was perfect and we are so grateful to everyone on the team.
