50 Best Vegan Restaurants in San Jose

“Omogari is popping here in the Japantown neighborhood and I was excited to dine here with some friends in their outdoor patio.

With a long line for Korean food and indoor/outdoor seating, be sure to use the Yelp waitlist if you can to get ahead of the wait.

They have classic Korean dishes with fairly generous portions from what I could tell. Limited veggie options (and you'll have to ask to make sure something can be fully plant-based/vegan), but I was happy to see they could make their Mushroom Sundubu with veggie stock. I ordered that spicy and it luckily also came with rice.

The sundubu was fantastic and hit every note I could want from a tofu stew. Loved the veggies, the broth was not too salty, and the accompanied banchan was great with the meal.

Service was also pretty fast considering how busy they were and they checked in on us for just the right amount of time. Thanks Omogari for a great dinner experience.“

The soup is hot and yummy, the sides are great and as far as I know are free refills, it comes with a free drink, and the workers are nice. Truly a hidden treasure, highly recommend you come here.“

“Our server Andres was an amazing server! He recommended drunk for me which was the Oaxaca mule and it did not disappoint. It was smooth and fruity with a hint of smokeyness. He also recommended the tostada norteña which again was like a lomo saltado but in a Mexican tostada. Everything was amazing! Will come again:)“

“The food was very delicious and I highly encourage the Villages residents to come support this restaurant. It's cheaper and has more food than what the Village Bistro provides. I'm planning on coming back soon to try out more things.“

“Food: We got the earl gray lavender flavor with original puffles. We got the ice cream regular hardness and it’s very creamy and flavorful! The puffles is not chewy as expected like a mochi but it still tastes good. Would definitely want to come again and try more flavors!
Service: the owner/staff is very welcoming and helpful. My friend wanted a softer texture so he made it that way and he also came and check out whether it’s good for him and Ben offer to make it again if he’d like it a harder texture. Haven’t seen people who enjoy the job and being so attentive for a long time!

“This is one of my family’s favorite restaurants in the world!!! The staff is incredibly friendly and sweet, the food is out of this world, and the presentation is so nice! It has charming outdoor seating and is so cute! We recently moved to this area and were searching for a nice lunch spot when we found this place. The location is a bit hidden, so you won’t see it on the main street, but the food is absolutely amazing. I 100% recommend coming here.“

“The chocolate vegan cake was delicious! Wouldn’t have guessed it’s vegan. Very light and fluffy. The “fish” sandwich was light and had good flavor, a few more fish pieces would have been good. The smoothie was fresh and creamy and the kumquat drink was goood and not too sweet. I’d come back for sure , it’s a nice cozy spot with seating inside and out. Fresh made vegan food“

“Wanted to have a nice outdoor lunch here again since we haven't been in a while. We noticed the menu was smaller new menu with photos. We ordered the garlicky green beans which we love, Tom Yum Goong dumplings which were yummy, Xi'an Dumplings vegetable were tasty, Pork Gyoza were very good and unique crispy toppings and shrimp garlic noodles were good but a little too creamy for K.“

“Great ambiance . The pani puri was very different with pani in green chocolate covered balls with spicy water . We had the shrimp Koli Wada which was my favourite appetiser , we had the chicken tikka bao , shish tawook with hummus , really wanted to taste rhe lamb chops but they were out .

“TBH I was hesitant at first to eat at Acopia. As a vegan, most Mexican restaurants do not usually have options for me. Their menu is somewhat minimal and limited, so entered with few expectations or hopes that I could order anything more than a salad. However, I was pleasantly surprised! The owner came to our table and was most accommodating. I ordered a succulent nopales salad, street corn and some delicious blue corn sopes de calabasita (zucchini and flower). It was all quite tasty and I was even more surprised when she brought out some vegan mayo AND vegan cheese to top off my food with more flavor. The atmosphere is very modern and simply styled, mirroring their “chic” food menu. I found the food delicious though a bit on the bland side, but was grateful that they came through for me and my vegan diet. I left sated and happy that I could fully participate in the meal alongside my meat-eating friends. The owner was very thoughtful and really went out of her way to make sure I had plenty of choices to order. Although it was a bit pricey, I will definitely go back again. The modern ambiance, the attentive service and the fancy yet rustic food combined to make a lovely evening meal.“

“Greeted warmly as i entered and met a friendly smile at the register. It was my 1st time at this location, Almaden, and very surprised by the great variety of offerings.
