“Update: we visited again today, mid day. Super busy inside and out. Same lovely service and great coffees and pastry. I tried a flat white today, excellent! And a blueberry scone. I am serious when I say this was the best scone I have ever eaten. Moist, rich flavors, plump blueberries! And served warm with whipped cream and jam on the side. Amazing. (See photos!).

Our first visit to this cute comfy coffee house was absolutely perfect in every way! We were warmly greeted when we arrived (with eye contact), service was friendly fast and efficient, interesting and diverse pastry and food selections. Comfy couches and chairs with pillows, or lots of table options too. Funny coffee house sayings on the walls to get you smiling, and some cool art hanging too! (Thank you for supporting our local artists!😁), plus small touches like plants and flowers add to relaxation and peaceful vibe. You feel welcome, relaxed, attended to and not rushed. The music selection is perfect too. Contemporary, but not annoying, right volume and feel for the place - you could definitely get work done or carry on a normal conversation. There were quite a few customers, yet voices were low and respectful of others.
We had pastries today (creme brûlée croissant and banana nut muffin). Both were delicious, moist, flavorful and not overly sweet.
And now the coffee! We had a latte and Americano. Both were excellent! Strong, complex flavors on the dark roast of the espresso balanced perfectly with the milk in the latte. Beautiful latte art to top it off. I seriously was reluctant to stir the design away.🤎 Hubby said the Americano was “very good” (which is his highest praise). Food and drinks were brought to our table with care, we were check on to see if anything else was needed. And then finally, we were warmly thanked for coming in. Exceptional experience! Thank you. We will be back.“

“This place is so good. I wouldn't necessarily hang to work or study, but the drinks are the best. My favorite is the monster boba latte. It's an iced latte worth boba, then they drizzle brown sugar molasses down the sides. The windows are a bummer, you can hardly see out of them, but I'm a window cleaner so i notice these things.“

“Since my husband went a second time to buy pan, I decided I had to write this review. The conchas were the best I’ve ever had! You can taste the quality ingredients. We bought a variety of pan dulce and everything was excellent. We will be back to try the bolillo . It is a tiny place and not easily seen from the main road. We met the owner and the baker who were very kind.

“First time visiting. This is a must visit for all food lovers who also appreciates quality Californian ingredients. I had all tonics on the menu, the Turkish eggs & the Spanish French toast. Absolutely yummy! I was super nervous to try the French toast so a super sweet couple sitting next to me shared some their French toast with me & I’m so glad they did. I’ll be coming back for sure for the French toast! I absolutely loved the ambience and customer service. I felt at home and I can’t say that for half of the restaurants in San Diego. Definitely a must visit! I highly recommend! I will definitely return!!

When I reflect on my childhood, I suppose that many aspects of it were pretty normal. While I had individual interests and priorities, the adults in my life imposed a certain amount of structure for my well-being and development. However, a recurring period of time when I was permitted some “me time” was Saturday mornings. Back in those days there were no cable channels devoted entirely to kid centric programming, so Saturday mornings were a youngster’s “primetime” and the cartoons that were featured would become the fodder of deep playground discussions the following week.

Madison Avenue knew exactly who their target audience was during those hours, so we were “fed” a steady stream of cereal commercials. While all of us kids were focused on the glorious sugary aspects promised by those cereals, our parents were likely horrified by our behavior after being primed with hyperactive jet fuel. In order to assuage those parental fears, the ad campaigns frequently included the phrase “part of a complete breakfast.” That phrase (clearly recommended by the legal department) absolved the product from contributing any nutritional value whatsoever (because the other items visible in the background provided ALL of the nutrition for that breakfast).

While I don’t intend to comment on the nutritional value of the breakfasts that I’ve enjoyed at the Encinitas Cafe, I can assert that a breakfast here is “complete.” For me “a complete breakfast” within the “greasy spoon” genre must prominently and unabashedly feature unlimited coffee, eggs, bacon, hash browns (extra crispy), and pancakes. 😋

I salute the Encinitas Cafe for remaining faithful to the cause of proudly serving a simple breakfast, offered at a fair price, with friendly service included at no extra charge. 🫡

If you choose to visit you may find parking a challenge along South Coast Highway, but there is a parking lot directly behind the restaurant that offers convenient access to a back entrance.

“Great food and friendly staff. Clean, fast and delicious food. Don't miss this place for a delicious breakfast. Scrumptious food and caring staff. I had the Mexican eggs Benedict and it was probably one of the top five breakfast meals in my 64 years of living. My 90 year old mother enjoyed avocado toast with lox and they brought her out some apple pancakes on the house after she shared her story with them. Myself and my 3 siblings were in CA for my daughter's wedding and arrived from all over the country to share this breakfast with her. From fresh squeezed orange juice to various coffees and many many options of breakfast treats, thisbplace should not be overlooked. I would go here again and again if possible to try the entire menu. They know how to cook!!!“

“Heard about this coffee shop at the San Diego airport so I wanted to check out one of it's brick and mortar locations. I ended up asking for what the most popular drink was and the answer was the Mocha. I ended up ordering the Aztec Mocha which has dark cacao, cinnamon and cayenne. You could really taste the cayenne spice. I enjoyed the drink. Lots of spots to sit inside and outside. Nice coffee shop and looks like the food is solid as well!“

“An interesting little coffee shop located on the bottom floor of the building that houses Vintanas and a Lexus dealership. It has a very open entrance, so it feels like it is a part of the dealership. It's not. It's a small separate business.There is plenty of seating available. It has a very upscale feel to the bar area, where you can sit and enjoy a drink. There are also other tables around to sit at. The staff here have always been friendly and attentive. There is a large variety of coffee options to choose from. They also serve food like sandwiches and breakfast items, smoothies too. Blended coffee drinks are also on the menu!If you like exploring small and unique coffeee shops, this definitely makes the list. Grab a coffee and roam around the lexus dealership or nearby shops and restaurant. It's a pleasant place to find somewhere to sit.Parking is a bit odd. You can park in the front in the dealership parking lot area, or there is a huge 3 story parking lot around the back of the building. Park on any lever and walk in, then take the elevator to the first floor.
