“Me and my friends came here to spend time with each other again once they came back from college for the summer. We came here before as a trio and feel in love with the food and staff :3. So of course we had to come with the rest of our friend group.“

“We often ate at the original Hang Ah restaurant in SF back in the late 1960's & early 70's. Moved to SR in 1973 and were floored when Hang Ah opened in the old AW building around 2008???

“I love this place. It's the OG of fast, affordable and delicious Chinese take out. Nothing fancy here, just great food and amazing service.
I've been eating at Silver Moon since they opened. If I remember correctly, early nineties maybe late eighties. Then one day to make it even better they begin to offer dim sum. Not a lot, but the staples and some unique curry buns.
Staff and food is 10 stars worthy. Please visit, I don't ever want to see them leave.
BTW - They don't always advertise it, but they do a really great Hot and Sour soup. You just need to ask.“

“One of my go to places for lunch specials there prices and portions are great they even give soup on to go orders. I like the Mongolian beef with fried rice and the bbq pork and mixed vegetables with fried rice lunches and it comes with a crab puff. Pics to come“

“Love this Food! Best Chow Mein, reminds me of the Chinese Food we use to get in Kailua when I was a Kid(60s). Prices are Great, but I wouldn't care even if they weren't. They Pack the To-Go Cartons with so much Food. I wish it was a Full Blown Restaurant.“

“We enjoy going there for lunch when we are out of food at home. The lunch price is reasonable and the portion is large enough for two meals. I like snow peas with beef and my spouse likes snow peas with chicken. The food is always piping hot when they bring it to us. It comes with a cup of soup and it is tasty as well. No complain about the service if you tip a fair amount.“

Their food is delicious. I've tried other places in Santa Rosa but always fall back on China Star and we'll probably always stay with them when I get the urge for Chinese food.“

I also enjoyed that the food was not over seasoned with soy sauce or other seasons so that you could really taste the flavor. Also had best ingredients such as the seasame chicken was only whole white meat. Not bits and pieces of chicken.“

“I’m stoked. Finally a Chinese restaurant to give others in the area a run for the money. Very friendly staff, and the restaurant is clean. The lamb hotpot is legit. Lots of stuff inside a simmering cauldron of soup served on the table. We got the spicy version and it did not disappoint. The numbing sensation of the Szechuan peppercorns was unmistakable. Not sure, this might be the only hotpot north of the Golden Gate Bridge The beef chow fun was GOOD! Sometimes versions are oily, but this one wasn’t. Not at all. Garlic eggplant was also fantastic. Super flavorful and the color palette was stunning. The menu is pretty extensive, not sure that is a good thing.

Restaurant location is kinda hidden. Go! Try it. As a Chinese dude, I’m glad they opened up near my home. Serving sizes are kinda too big, but leftovers.“

Parking: Due to the awkward positioning of the drive thru, if you do get a parking spot, getting out is extremely difficult if the drive thru is busy“
