“I've been here three times now, and I always order pretty much the same things. The food is good and the service is great too. It's a bit different on Saturdays compared to Mondays or Tuesdays - on Saturdays we have to order from the circulating carts ourselves, while usually someone comes around to take our orders. But on Saturdays they're busier, so whether you order separately or pay the bill, you'll need to wait a bit longer“

“Uncle Chungs is the best. My family has been coming here since before I was born. Princess chicken and honey walnut prawns are a must. And if you like crispy noodles try your chow mein Hong Kong style.
Uncle Chungs is family owned and a staple if you are anywhere close.“

“Rickshaw Chinese Restaurant is a take out only There is no option of sitting down. Henceforth it is take out only. That's a plus you won't have to take out a loan to get good healthy food. There are some benches out sde if you can't wait to get home. It is popular with locals and those in the know. Food is displayed to see sells quickly so it always fresh . Never dried out from sitting at a steam table. Some nights a hour before closing at 8pm they maybe sold out of pork fried rice or barbecue pork loin or sweet and sour pork with vegetable The sauce is not too sweet not too sour. It's like Goldilock's porridge at the home of the three bears just right. Portions are big I can barely finish a pork fried rice with a sweet and sour pork entree. $12.50 includes tax.
The Chef takes pride in making good tasting food a simple menu with something for almost everyone. Yes I am a big fan of Chinese style cooking. Sometimes a simple dish made with care is just as good as a fancy complex food at 3 times the price. Highly recommend for the days you are just too tired to cook or just because you want to to enjoy their food. I only like to post positive reviews of well made foods.
This is definitely positively good food enjoy“

“Not bad for a quick Chinese food fix reasonably priced. Location has ample parking and has a loyal frequent diners.
Hot and Sour Soup is a good starter, but I prefer a bit more heat. The fried appetizer sampler is something I would skip. The BBQ Pork Chow Fun was full of flavor and the Salty Fish Fried Rice was fragrant. The clay pot was a miss. I was hoping they would actually cook the food in the clay pot for that taste, but it appears the food was cooked and served in a clay pot. The Iron Platter was just what you expect, burning hot served.“

“Ben Ben Hot Pot was the coziest hot spot experience I've had. I ordered the ox tail broth. It came with tender oxtail meat. There was a generous variety of ingredients to add and open access to tea and drinks. Our waitress knew just when to offer more broth and meats. The music was calm and the ascetic was clean and cozy. Great value at a low price, I will defiently be back !“

“My parents have been coming here since before I was born and I grew up eating here. I 100% would say this is my favorite Chinese restaurant ever. The quality of the food is always top tier and super delicious every time. The staff is so friendly and the service is always fantastic!“

“Wow. Had a great experience. Was staying at a local hotel, did my want “fat” food like fires or bread. I’m not a huge Chinese food eater, a little Panda or whatever, but this was amazing! A light crispy tempura like breading on the honey walnut chicken, the fried rice had great flavor. I can’t wait to come back.“

“I ordered three orders of chow mein for my kid’s birthday party. They served them all in one big aluminum tray and it was enough for about 9 small servings.
I was really thrilled. The quality of the chow mein is outstanding, and they really made it easy for me to order the day before and serve it hot. I will definitely be ordering here again.“

“I've recently both eaten in and picked up frozen dumplings and chive pancakes to make at home. My gut tells me they really want to be take out only based on the interior of late. Which I fine, the food is super easy to make at home and really, really good!“

“Favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Food is fresh and delicious, seasoning is perfect, and I always really appreciate the kind service. We usually get takeout, but the restaurant itself is very nice. The MuShu Chicken is my personal favorite, my husband loves the Mongolian Beef. Every soup is delicious. You can't really go wrong here.“

“If you’re looking for a great spot to grab Chinese food in Richmond, V8 Kitchen on Macdonald Ave is definitely worth checking out. My wife and I found this place on Google Maps while looking for something new to try—and we’re glad we did! The photos and menu looked promising, and we were in the mood for a good lunch date.
As soon as we walked in, the lady who took our order greeted us with a warm welcome and helped us feel right at home. She was quick, polite, and made the whole experience feel personal. The place had a peaceful and quiet atmosphere, perfect for a casual and relaxing couple’s lunch.
The food? Excellent. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. You can tell they put care into their dishes, and it shows in the taste. The prices were also really fair for the quality and portion size.
All around, this was a great little food adventure for us. If you're local or just passing through Richmond and want good Chinese food with kind service and a calm vibe, V8 Kitchen is a nice choice.“
“I was so happy to have this restaurant open up a location in Berkeley. I've been to the original in Bellevue Seattle as well as their other locations in Seattle and here in the Bay Area since I enjoy their food so much. However, I think the Berkeley restaurant needs to work on the consistency of their dishes as compared to their other locations. I ordered the Mala Spicy Noodles last night and it was half lettuce instead of noodles with lettuce garnish. Fortunately, I asked and they graciously re-fired another order for me with less lettuce but when it arrived, they had the lettuce correct but now it also had less mala spice. I'll check again in a few weeks and will gladly change this review to a 5 star rating if they have the consistency fixed.“

“Little Hong Kong feels like it has been here forever, and in a good way! A true neighborhood staple on San Pablo Avenue, sitting in its own standalone building with its own parking lot, which makes it easy.
It is family owned and run, and you can feel that in the way the place operates. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, and nothing feels overdone.
This is classic Cantonese comfort food. Nothing flashy, just familiar dishes, consistently well made, and come in decently generous portions. It’s the kind of place people return to for years, even decades, because it delivers the same good experience every time.
In a time when prices seem to climb everywhere, it still feels reasonable, which adds to the appeal.
I have been coming here for years, and it continues to hit that simple mark. Good, honest food in a place that feels like part of the neighborhood.“

“This has been my favorite Chinese food spot my entire life. They always pile their portions high and two of their combo plates (and maybe a side of potstickers, my personal favorite) feed my family for multiple meals. Highly recommend the bbq chicken, spicy salt chicken, spicy salt fish, and mushroom tofu!“

“I went around 1:30 pm on a Monday and the restaurant was busy, busy, busy, but the cashier/waitress was fast, pleasant, and deserved to be tipped well!!! We ordered the lunch specials to go: Hunan Beef (it was tender with the right amount of spice and sweet and veggies) with Chow Mein (plump and juicy) and Sesame Chicken (crispy, tender, flavorful, coating on a few pieces were a little excessive..but it was edible) with Fried Rice (very tasty, wasn't dry, no soy sauce needed). Overall the food was delicious and I need to kick my own butt for not discovering this hidden gem in Point Richmond a long time ago. I think this will be my spot from here on out, and yours, if you give it a try! Side Note: the restaurant name is hard to see and needs to be repainted but it is directly across from the library.“
“Self-serve. No hassle. Great food at awesome price. Definitely will try their dim sum dishes next time at an earlier time. They actually use ceramic/actual bowls and dishes and not disposable/single-user like many other places of similar food.
Would love to see maybe next time they will have their own home made chili oil!
Update: visited two more times after initial review a month ago. Seems like the secret is out so it's getting crowded here. If you arrive after 1:30ish they only offer to-go because they close at 2 and it takes 20 minutes to freshly cook the food.
This place is run by a small team with only one person at the counter who is also responsible for 26 other tasks so please be patient and understanding. They probably don't mind losing business from potential customers who are in a hurry or turning away due to long and slow line; this place is probably not for you and try again next time when you are not in a hurry.“

“Very good. I'm not really a fan of Chinese food but my son asked it was his birthday and the place we usually order from was closed. I have to admit it was really good. I ordered chicken chow mein, fried rice, beef broccoli, sweet sour pork, sesame chicken, and gyoza. Everything was delicious hot fresh flavorful and quick. Keep n mind this was the 4th of July, they were open and the guy who took my order was really nice and attentive. This will be my new spot“
“First time. Great find! The food was delicious and well prepared. Didn't have that "all day in the steam tray" look and feel that now seems standard at other similar places. Vegies looked and tasted like they were made from fresh. The meats were tender and generous. Sauces light and not overly sweet or heavy. Will be our new go-to Chinese takeout!“

“We enjoyed daal makhani and veg korma with rice. All was delicious. But be forewarned, we asked for a spicy level between mild and medium, and we both found the spice heat level to be way above what would be considered medium at most every other place we've been to. Good food, but very spicy.“

“My boyfriend and I had a great time at this dumpling restaurant. We ordered a few dishes to share family-style, and everything was amazing. The fried xiao long bao was delicious and crispy, and the pork face was rich and perfectly cooked—the seasoning was very authentic- like what you would get in China.
The staff were very homey and kind as well. A good spot for anyone who loves authentic dumplings!“

“My dad was craving shrimp fried rice so I was searching in a place in Vallejo for take out and thought I’d try 88 baobao’s. I called in and it was easy to place an order. I ordered shrimp fried rice, sauteed green beans, popcorn chicken, and a side of cucumbers. My order was ready in 10-15 mins for pick up. Service was quick. This was my first time ordering from this location, I didn’t even order any baos sio mai or dumplings but I tried them at other locations. They have indoor seating and the food has huge portions to serve lots of people and last for multiple meals. Located in the Gateway Plaza across from Vallejo Costco, so there’s plenty of parking. Located next to Ulta and quickly.“

“Excellent food, even relatively plebian fare like fried rice was a step well above, and the have some unique specialty dishes I'd never eaten. Expensive, but worth it. Hated electronic ordering, and it wasn't clear hot tea was a thing you could get on a cold Christmas night, but I'd go back.“

“Very delicious! I got the chicken and mixed vegetables with steamed rice. Their lunch special came with a corn soup, which was also tasty and a nice way to start the meal. I liked the sauce on the chicken and vegetables a lot. Rice just needed soy sauce. Nice and large portions. Also came with fried wontons and sweet and sour sauce. My husband liked the spicy orange chicken but didn’t find it spicy. We shared the Chinese chicken salad as well. Even their tea was good! Would happily come back.
Parking: Shared lot with laundromat and liquor store, felt safe too.
Kid-friendliness: Noticed a high chair.“

“If you want a hole-in-the-wall and authentic experience, then this is the place to go. As for the customer service, I think it really adds to the authenticity. When I look for Chinese food, I find a direct correlation between lack of ambience/customer service with the authenticity/taste of food. The food proves this logic. The owner is a one man band and banking on skill alone which is honestly quite impressive since the overhead costs to keep this location running is not cheap.“

This has been here forever. Like 20+ years at least. I hadn’t been in a long time but I was driving by and thought I’d stop. Same good Chinese food ready to go as I’d remembered. Would definitely go again. I’d rather give my business to them than the panda.“

“This place always serves their DIY hot pot piping hot like roof-of-your-mouth-burnt hot. It’s one of our favorite hotpot’s in berk. I’m sad they close in between 2pm to 5pm because I always crave it around 3pm!
Once you come in, you navigate towards the bowls and you can grab whatever you want with the tongs. Then set it on a scale and choose the soup base. The cost is per pound of food. I like the classic bone broth. But even mild or not spicy, is quite spicy. They also have a dry pot version, where they just sauté all the items you picked out in some sort of mala sauce. But I find the soups much tastier.
Atmosphere is not much. They have a tendency to turn Tables over pretty quickly. And many will just eat and bounce. Not really a linger type of restaurant.“

“I’ve been going here since 2007. It’s my go to Chinese fast food. It’s cheap and they are generous with the servings. Depending on my cravings, I can finish 2/3 of the plate but most of the time I can eat the left overs at later meal.I ALWAYS order their Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs, half fried rice and half soy sauce chow mein, with garlic chili oil. The taste was the same since 2007, except, I have not seen green chili on it anymore. When my husband wants some, I’ll order: fried shrimp, beef chow fun, beef broccoli, orange chicken, yunan chicken, and/or veggie mix. It really varies depending on what he wanted that they have when we arrive. To summarize, I will always go back to this place. I travel across California for work. Trying different Chinese fast food in other cities, other than Panda Express, this is my number one place that I will always go back to. I said Chinese fast food, yes? ✌?“

“I love the food here. Anytime I go, there's never a lot of people in there and I usually order ahead and pick it up. The Salt and Pepper fish, Shrimp Chow Mein-Skinny and Honey Walnut prawns are what I usually order.
The area has changed a lot, Longs, the Dive Bar and Wheel works are all closed. Safeway is still there and CD is to the right of it.
Parking: Plenty of parking.
Wheelchair accessibility: Parking is not a problem.“
