“We tried the Burrito, and I had the Fish Soft Taco, which I loved. However, the beef bowl with avocado, beans, rice, peppers, and tomatoes in this shop, it felt like too much going on flavor-wise. On the bright side, we enjoyed the delicious pineapple juice. The server is nice and I asked to get another Juice and he said pay after when we are done, he told me next time. “I had lunch with two of my Medicare clients to discuss 2025 plans. I tried the Fish and chips for the first time. They were delicious! The fish had the perfect amount of batter, and the fries were crispy and tasty.

Parking: I had no issues finding a place to park.“

“The restaurant is very intimate but still has that diner feel to it. I brought my daughter here for a breakfast date and they were very accompdating when she asked to switch seats so she could sit next to me.

I ordered a caramel machiatto, bacon, eggs, and a Nutella waffle. My daughter had an M&M pancake and bacon. I got a to go order for my husband and he got the Kobe and a French toast with Nutella.

The presentation was beautiful. You could tell they slowed down to make beautiful lines of nutella on the waffle. The waffle was crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside; just how it should be! The bacon was crunchy and fresh and the eggs were soft and fluffy. My caramel machiatto was one of the best I've ever had. There was caramel milk foam on top that was to die for.

My daughter had 1 pancake and I'm glad the waitress told me they were huge because she wanted two. She ate half of it because the pancake was the size of the plate so she's taking the rest home. This would be a good option to split if you had kids who wanted the same flavor.

There is ample parking since there are many different businesses located near it. Which is nice since parking is something that is always lacking in San Diego

“I've been wanting to try this cute little country cafe for a while now. So glad I finally had the chance! It is small and cozy, seats about 30 people. The staff were inviting and super friendly! I ordered the basic french toast and eggs and my eggs were cooked to perfection and I'm super picky about how they are cooked :) The homemade salsa was delicious and had the perfect kick to it. I will definitley be stopping by again to try the biscuits and gravy everyone has been raving about!“

“Food was good. I was able to get a nice, very full, 3 egg white omelet with spinach mushroom tomatoes and a pretty topping of Avocado slices.
(The old cholesterol needs to come down, so it was my best bet)
Decent size fruit cup.
Didn't have that "cooked on a grill with layers of grease from a hundred other breakfasts" taste.

Also added the Fluffy French Toast, which seems to be my "latest craving - could eat it anytime food." (I cheated. Just half the slice)

And the bread is "fluffy!" At least the size of 2 big slices of regular bread. Different & good.

I loved my waitress, Lizzie. She had the sweetest smile and was very attentive to our table and extras we would need.

The menu looks newer and it's a nice upgrade they did. Also, a nice change from eating at another
Diner favorite a lot.

This IHOP on North Second Street/Oakdale, El Cajon, is my favorite one & I would recommend it.

“Came here on a Sunday morning for breakfast and had great service from Carmen. She was friendly and attentive - 5 star service.

However, I came here craving the turkey sausage I usually get from IHOP and was extreme disappointed when I was told this location doesn’t offer it- only turkey bacon. Would love to see a bit more consistency with the chain. In my opinion, that a benefit of eating at a chain - knowing you can get your favorites no matter where you go.

Overall, I have a good experience dining here, mainly due to Carmen, but the food was good as well.“
