“The food was very delightful. The service and how loud it was, wasn't the best. It wasn't the worst service. Just things were forgotten and servers didn't alert people when they were arriving (as they walk up behind, right before getting up). They almost got my daughter twice, with her back to them.“
“As always, the German pancake is the best. We always get one for the table and it is everyone’s favorite. I pull off pieces and eat it plain or with butter. My breakfast also came with pancakes which were very good, the others got the potato pancakes and they were delicious. I got the corned beef hash with two poached eggs. Hash was good and had more of a corned beef flavor than other restaurants but it didn’t taste like St Patrick’s Day. The eggs were cooked right. My wife got the California Benedict, the eggs were cooked a little too long and the bacon and English muffin were very hard to cut. My son had the Crab Cake Benedict and his eggs were on the hard side, I pointed it out to our waitress and she was going to replace them but he decided to eat them so he wouldn’t have to wait. Despite those issues, the meal was very good. Everyone was super friendly but the place was busy being a Saturday morning. Our table was just inside the door and a ton of people walked by.Parking: The Amazon grocery store never opened so there is a huge empty lot to park in.Kid-friendliness: They are very nice to kids.“
“My large extended family and I recently had a reunion. At the end of the trip, twenty of us really wanted to go out for a final breakfast together, but it was St. Patrick's Day, we all had flights to catch, time was tight and we hadn't made breakfast reservations. We called Broken Yolk, not really thinking we had any chance to get in, and we were informed that they could accommodate us on their patio. Fifteen minutes later, all twenty adults and children were seated on their patio, and we were surrounded by helpful, friendly wait staff who took our orders, and then delivered beautiful, delicious food in record time. They came back to refill drinks, to see if we had everything we needed, and we were able to have our last meal together and make it to the airport on time. I was impressed. Kudos and our thanks to the cooks and wait staff at the Carmel Mountain Broken Yolk.“
“This is definitely the best spot for breakfast/ brunch. The food is always delicious, the drinks are spot on. We are regulars now here and all the servers have always provided great service, Belen in particular is very nice and always on top of it. The thing that really makes this better than other nearby restaurants is that the manager, Ivan, he actually goes around always making sure you're taken care of. He's refilled our drinks, brought us condiments we needed and is always aware of the customers which is a rarity nowadays and that makes you feel welcomed! Definitely recommend San Marcos Broken Yolk!“
“Excellent as always, from here to Washington State I have never been disappointed so far.At This location From the woman who sit us down to the young Man who took our order and Make sure we were ok service was Good. One suggestion though, San Diego is hot this time of the Year so the building obviously has AC going, is ok , But our pancakes were really Cold, so may be don't wait to long to serve them. Personally don't care how hot temperatures are u don't like cold pancakes“
“Great breakfast at this slightly hidden diner! They really know how to cook eggs exactly how each person orders them. Really clean, and not too busy or crammed. My only complaint was that my home fries could have been cooked crisper, but the toast and pancake options were delicious. House fresh salsa is awesome.“
