“Absolutely fantastic restaurant. I literally walk here and eat frequently with friends and family because I live on Presidential Drive, the same street that the Reagan library is on.

I strongly suggest the turkey croissant club sandwich! Delicious.

“Sadly, I would recommend the Denny’s in Moorpark and NOT the “new one” in Simi Valley. We were SO EXCITED to see that a Denny’s was coming back to Simi Valley - and for the first few months we enjoyed weekly breakfast and dinner once a week. Servers started changing (NOT a good sign) and sometimes it seems like they really didn’t want to be there. And WHAT on earth did they do to the gravy? I use to love a side order or biscuits and gravy - but the last three times it was watery and had absolutely NO flavor. Today we had lunch at the Denny’s in Moorpark and the food was excellent and the servers were attentive, friendly - and ones we have seen working there for years. That has to say something about how management is treating them. The last time we went to dinner at the Simi Valley Dennys - a nice, familiar waitress served us and I told her we had missed seeing her and she said her days were cut to just 2 days a week. She use to work at the Denny’s on Sycamore and also at the Coco’s on Los Angeles Ave. (now closed). We’d sure like to see MORE servers like her at the Simi Denny’s - any restaurant that has such a change over in staff is not a good sign. A happy, well treated server will tend to stay if the Manager is good and cares for their employees. I’ve lived in Simi for almost 50 years and many of my friends who also liked the Denny’s on Sycamore now go to the one in Moorpark instead of the one closer to “home”. That is such a shame. In general, we all like Denny’s menu and affordable prices - but our local Denny’s needs to care more about providing it’s customers with the best food and service possible. Please, Simi Denny’s - hire better staff - including cooks - and treat your staff better so they will want to stay - and will be happy to serve their customers instead of making us feel like our servers would rather be somewhere else.“

“The Hat in Simi Valley is an absolute gem! This classic spot at 1308 E. Los Angeles Ave has been delivering that old-school, hearty American comfort food vibe since the chain started back in 1951, and the Simi location nails it every time.

I went for the **world-famous pastrami dip**—piled high with tender, juicy pastrami on a soft roll, dipped in rich au jus—and it did not disappoint. The meat was perfectly seasoned, not too fatty, and the bread held up beautifully without getting soggy. Paired it with their legendary chili cheese fries, which were loaded, crispy on the outside, and ridiculously addictive. Portions are generous (we easily shared one sandwich and a small fries between two people and still had leftovers), and everything came out hot and fresh.

The service is quick and friendly—counter ordering keeps things moving, even when it's busy. Love the retro diner feel inside too; it's casual, no-fuss, and perfect for a quick lunch or takeout. Prices are fair for the quality and amount of food you get.

If you're in Simi Valley and craving a satisfying, no-nonsense sandwich (or just great fries), The Hat is a must-try. Easily one of the best spots in town—I'll definitely be back soon! 5 stars all the way.“

The managers are wonderful! They welcome me by name and give the red carpet treatment! The Chefs and those in the restaurant bend over backwards for me, in making my favorite dishes, even if it is NOT on the menu! The house girls cleaning the rooms take care of me with the most beautiful smiles I have ever seen!! Last, and most definitely not least, are the bellboys! They are all incredibly helpful, pleasant, and humorous! TOY and NOPE and WAVE are exceptional! They run to meet me at my car, with the warmest welcome, taking ALL my bags and luggages, and welcoming me so warmly. They ask me about my work, my health, and make me feel like their family!!!! THIS does not happen in other hotels! I travel extensively in Thailand to 5 star hotels, and also in other countries. I love the Restaurant Chefs and Staff! Last night they made Sticky Rice especially for me as I had to work late! Am, Corn, Tarn, Jasmine, Wan, and Perk are so attentive, and wonderful!!! Because of this hotel, I always want to stop in Chiang Rai. I also have talked to the young owners, and gave suggestions and ideas...which they carried out! That doesn't happen elsewhere!
