“Upset...this place had quality sushi, great prices, and awesome service! I am not happy I don't have a sushi place near me thay checks these boxes and more.
Down at SDSU on move in day and after the move in we wanted something fresh and light that would not put us to sleep on our 2 hour ride home. We found this place with a basic search...glad this popped up.
Walked in to this low key location, greeted right away and seated. There were quite a few people here already, but a couple open tables. Server was attentive, gave suggestions. We chose 4 different rolls, nothing basic, large sashimi plate, even some chicken and rice. We all had drinks, they brought us appetizers. The server continues to check on us verified our food was good, drinks were filled, etc. Spent about 45 minutes here... Time for the bill...for 4 of us...barely at $100!
This will be our go to for our SDSU trips when visiting“

“The food is amazing, as is the service. My family have eaten there since they opened in 1986. They were small then, when Swenson's ice cream used to be next door. My favorite dish was the champon noodles. It still tastes the same!!“

“Great spot for sushi, the food was good, the vibes were there although they could have a better music selection, the servers were super sweet and personable, I would definitely go back especially that the prices are very reasonable and the quality is there.“

“What a find! Completely unexpected gem in Chula Vista. Food was absolutely amazing. My garlic noodles with pork belly was the best pork belly I've ever had. By far. The cut of pork and preparation were perfect. My UK coworker gave a huge 2 thumbs up for their fish and chips. Said it was legit. Another coworker raved about their bao buns. Drinks from the bar were great as well. A must visit when in San Diego.“

“What a wonderful time we had. The only complaints was that our reservation was at 8:15pm and didnt get sat until about 8:45.
My 2 favorites were Yubadofu and the Toro. The ice cream was unreal as well. So delicious. The entire meal was pretty spectacular. We got the Omakase nigiri and it was definitely the right choice. We left full and satiated.“

“The workers were very kind to us. When I paid, he gave me a free water. When I asked for a medium, he gave me a large, and he spoke in a very gentle manner. The lady that took my order would point towards the menu to make sure that I knew what I was ordering.
The place seemed very orgainized, and the counters were spotless.
As for the food, it was high quality and delicious. We ordered the Udon, Caterpillar Roll, and the Green Dragon Roll.
The crab in both rolls was creamy and soft on the inside and out. Along with that, The udon was rich with flavor along with garnish. The noodles were bouncy and gummy, and the broth would have a rich, deep, brown color that made it feel like I couldn't leave my table without finishing.
Overall, I would come here again, being one of my first food options at this mall.
(I didn't get their names)“

“Ordered from Sarku Japan first time and loved it. Teriyaki chicken and shrimp are flavorful and tender, rice is fluffy and veggies have nice crunch to it. Their sushi rolls turned out pretty good too. Try some Cali rolls or Spicy tuna rolls to complete your meal. 🍱🍱🍱“

“Great prices! While everything seems to be getting more expensive it's good to know there are some places putting out delicious food for a decent price. The rice is good thats what makes or breaks a sushi spot. We had the Red Dragon roll, Rainbow roll, Philly roll, California roll and some orange chicken all were really good. If you live in National city and want to stay in the area and have goid sushi this is a place worth stopping at.“

“I look forward to coming here every week during my lunch break. It is such a calm and relaxed atmosphere where I can unwind and read a book with green tea and my favorite sushi roll. “Love this place . The food is really good and nice reasonable priced. For two people we usually pay $40-$50 , when I go it’s not that busy which tells me not everyone knows how great this place is. With all the expensive sushi places these days it’s nice to know I can get a great meal without going broke“

“This place is my absolute go-to for Sushi. I mean no matter what you get it is amazing. This place was one of the few things I really missed when moving away from here. If you are nearby then I 100% recommend you come here.
Parking: It is in an open Mall that has plenty of parking. Probably too much. Could have been used for housing instead but still helpful.
Kid-friendliness: They have a fun fountain in the middle of their food court you can run around in.
Wheelchair accessibility: I'd say so.“

“Oishii is such a hidden gem! Very clean, and the insanely friendly and attentive staff make you feel right at home. The highlight for me was the pork noodle soup—seriously, it’s the closest thing I’ve found to authentic street noodle soup from Thailand. Such a rare find! Everything we tried was fresh and delicious. I’m already planning my next visit. Highly recommend!
Also 50% off apps and some rolls, beer and Thai tea for happy hour. Can’t beat it. Everyday from 2-5pm.“

“One of the best Chinese food places in San Diego, Ca. Everything is super tasty and doesn't leave you feeling bloated like other Chinese food places. I gave 3 stars for the atmosphere because at lunchtime it can feel super crowded. Other than that it's a definite go to when I'm around that area. I always call my order a few minutes ahead and I'm in and out of there quickly freeing more of my lunchtime break to enjoy my food.“

“I really enjoy dining here. I was introduced to this spot by an older friend and my wife. They had been coming here for years before any of us met (this place has been here for over 20 years). The food has always been on point, the service has always been excellent and everyone is just so nice when we visit. Consistency in these three things is such a hard thing to find these days and the folks at California Sushi deliver, spot on, everytime we have visited. Thank you all and we look forward to dining with you for years to come.“

“Pleasantly surprised by this place. First time trying it as I’m looking to make 2023 a year I explore new food places. This was my first new place of the year and I’m glad I found them! Friendly people and don’t be fooled by the small frontage. Hole in the wall places are the best. I also liked their happy hour menu….I was there for lunch but will be going back for happy hours and dinners😃“

“Cochinita is some of the best Teriyaki in the region, originally coming to us from about 50km south straight out of Ensenada, this is their flagship and only US location and if you’re in San Diego it’s a must; bold of me to say, but in my heart it’s one of the city’s speciality dishes. I’ve been coming here since I was a child, and we’ve always been faithful to the chicken Minoru or the chicken Nomuraki if you want a more flavorful dish. It’s basically just a bed of rice with grilled chicken on top, but the Nomuraki goes a step above and adds seasoning, green onion, and an accompanying side of a picked cucmever salad. It’s not intensely pickley though, and it’s a very refreshing side to enjoy with the chicken. Everything is always fresh and steaming hot as they cook the chicken thighs right in front of you the only thing I’ve been instructed by my mom to do is to ask for the chicken without any skin. It does cost a little extra but I’ve never not ordered it like that and I’ll continue to do so. Also be sure to let them know if you want any condiments, they have pickled red onions, pickled jalapeños, and a signature red salsa. But truly I recommend anything this place has to offer and it’s as local and authentically Chula Vista as it gets. I really love this place and I’m glad it’s survived the test of time which is why I hope y’all can give them a chance and see if you just found out one of your newest favorite restaurants. Overall, DAYGOEATSCERTIFIED✅✅📋“
