“Came here the other night for dinner.(+) Vibe. Very cute little restaurant with the sushi bar and a few tables along the walls.(+) Service. Pretty on top of things and friendly. There were a few times I think the server didn't notice something and the sushi chef said something in Japanese and she would come over quickly.(+) Food. We got the $150 omakase, and it's a great deal! You get a good amount of kitchen dishes but also a good amount of nigiri. Fish is fresh, had some cool fish types we haven't had before. Sushi chef was super nice and chatted with us a good amount.Would definitely come again.“

“We came to try out this place as our original sushi restaurant had closed, this was a good substitution. The food is delicious, great service and the ambiance really made me feel welcome. I would like to say that I felt like I was back in Japan as they greeted incoming guests. Try the carpaccio! We will come back as the food was delicious!“

“Good service is hard to find and excellent service is impossible, however the staff at Tabu Shabu delivered excellent service this evening. We were a group of 3. It was 20 min to closing and they welcomed us with a smile. The food was excellent. The flavors were on point. This was a 10 star out of 5. Great service is a lost art. This place is a gem. The staff understands the importance of creating a memorable dining experience.“

“We became a big fan of Kokoro and the chef. We had Sushi Omakase. My husband and I are from Japan, but this place had the best and most authentic sushi we've found anywhere in Japan or the U.S. I chose it for my husband's birthday, and it was a hit including the atmosphere and portion! We've since recommended it to some friends, and they've all been fans as well. We will definitely be going back soon!“

“National City & the South Bay area are quickly becoming a foodie paradise. This place is new to me but I really liked their menu options. We had a unique Sushi n Gone roll, some delicious soup & a nice side salad. Come early because parking is limited during peak hours. Family friendly tho they do serve beer. Great staff.“

“Small neighborhood sushi spot with great sushi and sake! The sake specials are something to definitely take advantage of! Unfortunately the bang bang corn was not in season during my most recent visit, but we’ll be back in no time. It would be best to call for a reservation, as they do get busy.Parking: Parking sports in front of restaurant and neighborhood parking.“

“Food was great, the Thai tea was cheap and very fresh, came with free salad and ice cream, and the ambiance was also very pleasing. But most of all the service and quality of food was outstanding. Would recommend this top tier restaurant to people looking for a good asian fusion dining experience.Dietary restrictions: I got a drunken noodle platter but realized that it had nuts, which I am allergic to. They exchanged the plate without hesitation or charge, and they were nice about it too. Great service.“

“I've been craving some fish and this had really hit the spot! I had gotten the sashimi bowl and it was really satisfying, the fish was cut into larger strips and it was tender and it didn't have a strong fishy smell to it. The rice underneath was quite good as well it was flavorful without being overly vinegar-y. Also if anyone was wondering what the difference was between the sashimi bowl and the sashimi set with rice (both of which are the same price), it seems like there's more rice in the sashimi bowl and there's some crushed seaweed and sesame seeds on the sashimi bowl between the rice and the fish. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, I don't think I would bring more than 2-4 people with me.“

“My sister and I stopped in here for lunch and we saw 50% off sign as we pulled in, which sounded even better. I heard a spider roll with softshell crab crab, avocado, cucumber, and eel sauce which was excellent. I also ordered a UFO roll, which was tempura, shrimp, crab, avocado, cucumber talked with salmon, eel, seared tuna, fried onion crunch Sauce and spicy mayo. My sister ordered the tuna sashimi and had already eaten half of it before I took the picture but it was very fresh. She also ordered the sunshine roll with crab, avocado, cucumber topped with salmon, Escalar, sliced lemon and dressing sauce, which is also excellent. She also got the miso soup which was good and had plenty of soy and seaweed. Staff was friendly and service was quick. I highly recommend him especially while they have the 50% off special.“

“Food was delicious and good prices especially for the area. The workers were friendly but there were three different people who were all waiting our table so we got asked multiple times if we wanted appetizers and if we wanted the check. Not a big deal tho, we'll definitely come back“

“My first visit here. My Daughter had the salmon salad And I had the beef sandwich with fries. my daughter said that’s the best salmon she ever had. I had to try it got a piece from my daughter and it was delicious.. my sandwich was medium rare just how I like it. Very humble people love the location and atmosphere. People tend to forget this is not a fast food restaurant. I read other comments that it took forever to get your food. Don’t expect a McDonald’s service expect a five star restaurant.. The best thing to do if you’re in a hurry or a crunch of time order ahead. But I like to enjoy my food and take my time because life is too short. I’m in no hurry.. I will visit this place again and again. Whenever I’m in town thank you keep up with the delicious food and courtesy to customers.. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“We had the Chef's Choice (4x3 sashimi mix). The pieces were big and thick. Worth the price. We also had the Ex-Girlfriend Roll and the Island Roll. Both do not contain rice so they have good options for those watching their carbs. Great service and the restaurant was clean and cozy and the staff was friendly. I plan on going back.“

“Only thing, when you walk in it seems like a sewer pipe is burst so not a fun time breathing it in.Food was good though. Hopefully that smell issue is fixed soon. Don't worry, you'll start to not notice it after a few minutes but you'll know it's there “

“This little oasis nestled in the heart of Downtown Chula Vista is a tropical paradise. Friendly staff, who are welcoming, kind, personable, and know their menu. The beautiful atmosphere with music ideal for enjoying your evening. Loud enough to hear, but quiet enough to make talking with friends easy. The drinks are inspired tropical tastes of the islands. The scorpion bowl is heaven in a large cup and perfect for sharing. The fish and chips are my new favorite fish and chips. Fish and fries both heavenly seasoned and fried.“
“I'm so addicted to the Torched Salmon Aburi bowl here. I add avocado and it's really worth it. They recently moved 2 stalls over in the Market on 8th food hall and share space with Cafe Indonesia now. Everything I've tried has been good and I keep wanting to try new things on the menu from them and from the Cafe Indonesia menu too, but it's very hard to not just keep ordering my usual.“

“I was recommend to this place in by someone who used to work here. All their sushi rolls are delicious and come with so many pieces. The amount of pieces per sushi roll is worth the value. Each roll comes with approximately 12 pieces. For the quality and amount per roll I highly recommend this place. This place is my go to spot for sushi.“

“Love this place. San Diego has no shortage of Sushi, but we make a point of coming here as often as we can! Service is great, the staff are attentive and friendly, and they ever remember our favorite seat and order when we come in Nothing quite like a comfy local restaurant like Kaki to make you feel right at home. I highly recommend the Black Dragon roll, Salmon Sashimi, and some hot green tea“

“This place is dope!! After a phenomenal dinner experience, it’s earned our favorite sushi spot in Chula Vista.Happy hour Monday through Wednesday is all day. Lucky us, we had dinner on a Wednesday night here.Immediately loved the vibes.Drinks were great. I loved the mango martini with chili. Our food was just as good. Lemon cilantro roll was the perfect amount of fresh fish, lemon and yummy goodness. The crunchy roll wasn’t bad either! I loved how fresh the shrimp tempura is. We also loved the seared tuna nigiri on the HH menu. It was super spicy and had a smoky kick. We loved it!We were most surprised at the top tier service. All the employees were kind. Everyone greeted us when we got there and when we left. Our food came out soooo fast! I couldn’t believe it. All of our rolls were ready within 5 minutes of ordering it. Insane! Shout out to our server Nika. She recommended the spicy ponzu sauce and I loved it so much. The restaurant is almost like a club. If it’s your birthday, there’s a mini show with cow bells, a happy birthday sign, lights and all.“

“Absolutely one of the best Sushi experiences of my life in 30 years of eating sushi . You have to try the vero roll if you like lemon and citrus tastes. The service was top notch...if you have the pleasure of getting Veronica you are in for a treat. She's friendly, positive and loves helping customers improve their dining experience. She also knows the menu and combinations well.“

“I love this place it is our friday spot. A couple of years ago i made the mistake of talking my 3 kids into trying sushi. Since then going to Ahi became more costly. This place is a great value for sushi loving families and the food is great. The service is awesome as well. You could find a more expensive sushi joint if you wanted to but why?“

“This place is seriously a hidden gem. They have a wide selection of sushi and other dishes, the price point is super reasonable, the service is outstanding, and the location is very convenient. My go to takeout order is the udon and garlic tofu. I love how they give big portions as well. I will definitely be returning here and making it a point to try some of their other dishes as well!“

“I actually like the spot except the orange chicken which was a nasty or old and we also placed an order online and decided to pay the restaurant when we got there so then they call me and say it's a big order we need a credit card over the phone and they also said, do you wanna leave a tip? Order was only like $60 I guess but should I be tipping if it's a pick up order?“

“obis sushi is a restaurant that I ran into by chance on one of my many deliveries through the San Diego area 3 years ago. the first thing that caught my attention was the nice atmosphere of the restaurant. it gives you a very home comfortable feeling that gives you peace of mind and really soothes you in to be able to enjoy your meal. the music in the restaurant is present but at a low volume so as not to be intrusive when you have friends with you and are enjoying a good talk with each other all the while relishing in your meal. This brings me to the main part, the food. The food is nothing short of amazing and very generous when it comes to portion sizes. While sushi is the main calling card, they provide a good amount of alternatives for those looking for other options like yakisoba katsudon plates curry and so on. My personal favorites are the ex-chargers roll and the dynamite roll. They also carry a bevy of alcoholic beverages from asahi to Sapporo hot sake and a selection of wine (That's just based off the time I ordered a plum wine). Finally from the owner to the waitresses, the restaurant staff provide a top notch service and are always in communication with the diners informing them of seasonal specials and providing changes to the menu that are within reason of the meal options being provided. They stay on top of providing refills without keeping you waiting and all around make you feel at home with a very social personality all the while holding a strong sense of professionalism not really seen in many other restaurants. If you get a chance and are in the area I would whole heartedly recommend you try this place out. it Is a little tucked away to The right of the aero dr freeway exit and looks like a hole in the wall shop from the outside, however it's anything but in this case.“

“The sushi is freshly made and the location is convenient for college students. Of course the price is reasonable, but you pay for the quality of sushi. I would say the sushi is decent for a pick up. Service: the wait times for rolls usually vary from 13-20 mins just depending on the day and crowd. Definitely expect to wait for your food. I really appreciated how they allow you to order via to go on the tablet and the people at the register are very friendly and greet you with a smile (: The ambiance is very casual!! Great for college atmosphere. You can also enjoy your food outside of the establishment (:“

“Service was great! Suzie was very attentive and polite! The ambiance was fun with 7 people in our group. The sukiyaki was very good but the rest of the food was so so! We tried different appetizers but only the hamachi we thought was good. Price is a bit much for each appetizer when it can barely serve 2 people. I would not recommend their poke. It left a very bad taste in my mouth!!“
“What a delightful & delicious addition to the Grossmont's FoodCourt Center !!! This eatery spot only opens 2 days a week and the rest of the days you can catch them at a Farmers' market! so catch them whenever you can! Don't miss out on what they have to offer! The 2 entrees my husband and I ordered were flavorful and well seasoned. We both finished and left our boxes emptied and cleaned . The owner did an exceptional job by making sure if we had any food allergies when taking our orders. This is something that rarely happens where business owner take the cautious and careful step to ask and make sure customers are safe. So we really appreciated that very much! We can't wait to come back and catch you on the days the eatery spot opens! A MUST TRY!!!! :D“

“After making your order and praying, the cashier asks you to move to a park and wait area. After 15 minutes I began to think they had forgotten me. I had to call into the store to check on my order. It took another 8 minutes for them to bring out my food. Not returning any time soon.“
