“After my husband and I picked up orders from Yoshinoya, we noticed a restaurant across the Beach Boulevard advertising takeout deals: two Teriyaki Chicken Bowls for $13, two California Rolls for $9.50, and a buy-one-get-one-50%-off deal on any rolls. So we decided to swing by and grab some Teriyaki Chicken Bowls to go a week later.

When we walked in, there was an Asian auntie and a young staff behind the counter. As we ordered, we got to chatting, and the auntie told us that she used to own a restaurant in Buena Park for 18 years before moving to Stanton in this location 7 years ago. (She might be the owner but I’m not 100% sure) She proudly assured us that everything the restaurant served is fresh and delicious. Just by looking at the neatly arranged ingredients at the sushi bar section, I could already tell this place is good.

We ordered the takeout special: two Teriyaki Chicken Bowls for $13. It was such a great deal, and they were indeed very delicious. The chicken was tender, and the sauce had a refreshing hint of lemon. The bowls came with two slices of carrot, cabbage, and broccoli, along with a perfectly portioned amount of rice. Just as the auntie guaranteed , it was tasty and worth every penny. (If you dine in, there’s no discount. These deals are only for takeout.)

The menu offers a lot of variety. The lunch specials (11:00 AM - 3:00 PM) seem like a steal. Here are some combos it offers as follows and we’ll definitely be back to try more.

Just last week, my friend and his family of seven came to visit Disneyland. They were craving for Asian food, so I picked up some Teriyaki Chicken Bowls from here and brought them to the park. Everyone loved the teriyaki bento ? , even the picky kids finished their bowls. Highly recommend this place.

“My brother and I wanted to try a new ramen place and ended up here. The food itself was great as I got the bulduk ramen and tempura shrimp and my brother got the tonkatsu. It was all good until I wanted the check. We sat for 30 minutes waiting for a check. The front of staff was more concerned with the group next to us or being idle. I have pressed to call for a server multiple times and hearing the ping letting them know a table needed help but I could not get their attention. I only got my check after the table next to us asked for a check when I told them I wanted a check. I partly blame the system for not properly letting the staff know since the ping only went off for a server request but also for how unattentive the staff is to some other guests. We were at the corner of the bar.“

This place is actually pretty fire ? if you’re an omakase eater. Most of the cooked dishes were surprisingly bomb ?. So I give this a place a recommendation for being in GG.“

So I was so excited to have been able to finally go today to celebrate @wakandinh 's birthday and do a date night. This was honestly some of the most prettiest and tastiest food I have had. These were some of my favorites tonight. They honestly were all so well thought out and meticulously prepared. I am so grateful to have experienced this Omakase service. The staff and Chef Gino were very attentive, friendly, and endearing. “Came here for lunch while we were searching for a sushi place and this had good reviews. The restaurant is in a little strip mall with plenty of parking. We were seated right away and we could see that it's quite small.

Each table had a button to call the server which we thought was good if we needed anything. Although it took a bit for them to come after pressing it.

We ordered the black ramen, rainbow roll, and sashimi bento. They also had a 50% off deal on 2nd item (ramen or roll). Food was pretty good. The family enjoyed it. A nice touch was the complimentary ice cream at the end.

It's a good restaurant and we would probably come back if around this way again.“

“Wow, wow, wow! I've been meaning to come to this place, and I finally got the chance to go for my birthday. My bestie and I both ordered the Yamasaki Set. It was truly worth every penny! During our meal, I texted my husband that "we had to come back, so he can have the same experience that I did." It was THAT good. Our set starts off with the seafood salad (came with little white fishies, scallops, and salmon sashimi, 5 pc sashimi (smoked albacore, halibut, tuna, kanpachi, and ankimo), 3 piece nigiri (salmon, hotate, and yellowtail), 1 toro handroll, another 3 piece nigiri (mackerel, blue fin tuna, amberjack), miso soup (one of the better miso soups I've ever had since it was more rich), 1 blue crab handroll, then finish with a otoro and uni nigiri. “The sushi was amazingly ? fresh. The place was clean and the presentation was on point. I loved the quaint atmosphere. We had an appetizer of blue soft shell crab. The breading was a bit thick and the crab was rather moist. The flavors were good but I'm not sure I would order that if I went back. Only because the balance of bread to fish ratio was so so. I think this combination could have been pronounced better with a sauce. We also ordered some egg rolls but again, their sushi was so good, had I to do over again I would have saved all my stomach space for another roll instead of the appetizer. The sushi was 5 stars +, the egg rolls 3.5*, and the soft shell crab 3.5. The mango tango roll had so many flavors going on I did not even want to use the soy sauce as it may overpowered all of the other delicate flavors happening within the roll. Same with the crazy monkey, loved the cashews and sauces and did not want to overpower the delicate flavors with soy sauce. The service was attentive to all of our needs. We also had Yuki Sake and that was delicious with a slightly sweet taste but not overwhelming. I would go back there in a heartbeat for their sushi and service.Rolls: Mango Tango, Crazy Monkey

My 2 gripes:
1) The specialty rolls are overloaded with sauces (I don't order anymore)
2) I wish they had a menu for making custom rolls (I always have to ask the server for my custom order)

Having to ask the server is more work and leaves prices/options ambiguous. Leading me to a more simple customization.

Parking: Parking all over.

Kid-friendliness: As kid friendly as sushi gets. It's not a place made for kids, but the atmosphere is conducive to bringing kids along.“

“This is my favorite sushi spot to regularly visit. While it's not fancy, it's unbeatable for the price. Appetizers and Sushi quality taste far better than most places that are double/triple the price. The server Karen is kind and attentive - my partner and I are always happy to see her! When a mistake has happened (infrequently), they have resolved the issues wonderfully. The bottled beer is also cheap.

Some of my favorites include the baked mussels, kalamari, dragon roll, yellowtail sashimi, fisherman roll, fire in the hole roll. I've tried most appetizers/rolls and have liked everything.

Only requests would be more options for hot sake and beer on draft.“

“Kikyo Sushi and Sake Bar is a great place to eat some great food. Their handrolled sushi rolls are lit!

We had a California Roll and a rock shrimp roll, and they were perfectly delicious. The rice was plump, with a slight bite with the perfect amount of filling.

A must try is their spicy garlic edamame. Man, they are so flavorful with the right spiciness. You'll be asking for seconds.

The reason for a 4 rating is that the bulgogi beef was a bit dry. It fell a little short in flavor and its traditional sweetness.

They have a great 5 dollar "thirst-quenching" draft beer that goes perfectly with your meal of choice.

Will I be back...YES! In a heartbeat and you should too, when you're in the area.“
