My husband and I ordered the Saucy Butter Chicken Wings, Paneer Masala Fries, Kahmiri Alla Pasta, Spiced Lamb, and Curry Fun (Chana Masala and Chicken Tikka Masala). Our favorites were the wings, fries, and pasta! Must orders. We also had the Mango Lassi and the Pink Punjabi. We both preferred the Mango Lassi. The Pink Punjabi tasted like milky sprite with a hint of rose. For dessert, we finished with the Rose Doughnuts because the Halwa Ice Cream Sandwich wasn't ready. I think I would've preferred the ice cream sandwich because the doughnuts were way too sweet for me. It is a little pricey than what I'm used to - since I live closer to Little India in Artesia. But it's the pricing for the area its in to be honest. Love that this spot is halal and vegan/gluten-free friendly. There's a public parking lot that didn't have an attendant, but had signs to still pay the amount of $10 in a box. We didn't want to risk it, so we parked in the neighborhood and walked. Our service was fantastic with Rajat. The place was clean and vibrant. Everything came out hot, ready, and pretty!“

“Bomb shwarma spot! Highly recommended. The wraps are filled with meat and delicious veggies. The sauces are very tasty as well. The size of the wraps are big and could probably feed two people. “No frills, simple, and homey restaurant with incredibly generous portions of biryani. I ordered the lamb biryani, which is one of their most popular items, along with a samosa and chicken roll to try. There's a service fee for card transactions (I think 5%). The samosas and chicken rolls stay in a small food warmer box near the entrance and is self-service . They call your name to pick up the main entrees at the counter. Chicken roll was really savory and the samosa had a good crunchy fry to it. The complimentary chutneys go well with them. The biryani comes with its own special chutney (sauce?) that brings a much needed brightness (minty-herbaceous) flavor profile to the otherwise salty and filling biryani. It took me 3 days to finish and made for great leftovers. :)“

I could've tried the next tier after Spark --- I think .The batter was great - loved the crunch and crispyness of it.I thought they would've been stingy about the $2 tenders but the size of the tenders were a good size.Staff was nice and efficient for a busy Thursday lunchtime. If you've never had Persian Food, or you love it, this is the restaurant for you! Drinks? I love Korean Soju and Cass beer, so yeah, +10 points from me. They do carry various Wines and Beers though...and of course your choice of Soda Pop. Atmosphere? It' gives you a Kewl Kids Vibe; a classy place where you can be yourself with family and friends and just enjoy each others company. You have your choice of Indoor and Outdoor dinning which is amazing. There's also a private room upstairs that can hold 20 people for a meal and karaoke (there is a fee to reserve, but very much worth it). Staff? We were greeted at the door as if we were coming home. Pasha and his staff go above and beyond to make sure all your needs are met. Their suggestions on meal and drink pairings are spot on. So decided to look up a few places and while driving, I saw this at the corner and this place had been on my bookmarks for a while and decided to give this a go instead. Since it's downtown and midday parking is horrendous, but since they're located near an alley, homegirl parked on the red and came in to do a to go order. Walked up to a kiosk and ordered 2 chicken shawarma, one with hummus and the other with mixed greens. ( Summer is coming around the corner, so gotta make sure we're staying within the macros.) I really did enjoy my plate, the wrap was packed with protein which I enjoyed. Usually a lot of places are skimpy with their protein portions, but the chicken was tender and full of flavor. It was also very refreshing as there was tabuleh and pickles. I like the little banana peppers addition to the salad, I just ate them with the shawarma instead. The hot sauce is creamy, pretty mild, but got the job done. PS Would you guys make a halal hot sauce? Just asking because some people like me would like our insides to burn. Lol. “I contacted Misah regarding catering for my birthday party for 30 people. From the very start, Misah and his staff were polite, professional, and friendly. My wife took me to the restaurant for lunch to sample the food a couple of days before the party. Misah was very nice in person as well. The food was freshly prepared and very delicious. All the sides were good as well; the lentil soup, cucumber yogurt, and hummus. He offered us free desserts to sample. Their homemade baklava is so good. When they prepare your catering order, they cook the kabob close to your pickup time so that it is hot and fresh when you get home. They use very good quality containers for transporting the food. Our party guests loved the food so much that we barely had any leftovers for the next day. We will definitely eat at Chelo in the future. It is a small hidden gem in Van Nuys.“

Sometimes it's hardly spicy at all and sometimes it's so spicy it's almost inedible. Sometimes the color of the dish is pale and tastes bland, other times it's a deep red-orange full of flavor. Sometimes the consistency is watery and other times thick. I never know if I'll be disappointed or not until I get my order. I've never dined inside, but I have picked up my order and it seems like a nice place to have dinner. Looks clean, low lighting, and the service has always been very friendly.“

While the Mie Tek Tek noodles may look like other South Asian noodle dishes, the flavors made this dish really unique and unlike anything we have tried before. “The experience exceeded my expectations. I came in just a few minutes before closing, and the chef came out from behind and kindly took my order for chicken kebab. He offered two versions boneless or with bone I chose with bone and after I already placed my order I decided to add on a chicken Koobideh. He said that would be 20 minutes, so I relaxed and enjoyed the smell of my made to order dinner being cooked. When I saw it prepared, I opened it up with the chef and he gave me a big smile with pride. I told my wife I'm bringing home dinner. Looking forward to going in person and trying their balti dishes as well as the paya. "Very very spicy" here seems to mean mildly spicy, so if you're a chili head like me best to let them know you mean business. The cilantro mint chutney was probably the best I've ever had-so fresh.
