Shortly before we left, around 9:45 - they started seating people on the patio. I felt not taken seriously, to be honest.“

Instead of sliced chicken breast like in the menu picture, it’s fried chicken chunks like in sweet and sour chicken. It’s also very oil and salty. Other than that dish, the rest are really good!!“

“I have had nothing but spectacular experiences at Rootstock, and especially the MV location! The staff is so knowledgeable and is so kind within their expertise. I have so many questions and so little knowledge but they always make me feel welcome with all my questions. The drinks are, of course, spectacular! I impress people at parties now with all I’ve learned through Rootstock. And the food is so tasty, I love the Empanadas especially! This is one of the greatest wine bars in the bay: yes for their wine selection! But also? Truly foe their staff, the ambience at their wine bar, the member program, and all that I learn from their experts behind the bar *AND* all the food I enjoy and fun I have. I love this place and I’m too scared to have tattoos for real but I’d tat I love roortsfoxk on my body, that’s how enamored I am! And this is a review after 2+ years of being a patron here! I should’ve shared my love earlier but ADHD 😅

but now that I’m a few months into my wine club membership, I just really had to make clear my enjoyment of Rootstock. The ambience reminds me of Edward Espe Brown’s writings: the table is a place of giving and receiving sustenance. Here we are served and serve others. That’s what I feel at Rootstock and it is such a pleasure and privilege! They make me want to learn about flavor notes so I can truly wax poetic about their menu, ambience, and so much more.

The TL;DR is if you are of drinking age, and in Mountain View: you HAVE to go to Rootstock. you will be doing yourself a disservice if you miss them! my favorite restaurant, from the chefs to staff to sommeliers! Endless things to love and celebrate.

Vegetarian options: There are a number of veg options! 3/4 flatbreads have meat BUT they are so flexible with substitutions. I often ask for meat removed (when alone) or on the side when I’m with friends and they are always so kind and on top of this.“

“Been to rice junkie multiple times for lunch as well as for dinner. The service is always quick and fast however I do not like the new digital menu that they have especially if you’re on the tables close to the wall.
Their selection of sauces is always very interesting and I’m yet to try them all.
The ambience is somewhere in between a fancy restaurant and a fast casual.
Definitely get their corn and cheese combination either with the chicken or with the pork. Lunch for two with a drink and appetizer was $30 per person.

“A random find, but turned out to be beyond expectation. Were looking for a place in downtown Saratoga to have a casual brunch with a friend, trying to get out of “popular” places to avoid the long unnecessary wait, hence we did not expect a great meal from this random walk-in.
But we walked in, clean and standard restaurant decor, standard brunch menu, ok food display. So I thought, meh, ok meal.
Then I took a spoonful of the Shakshuka Egg, amid the look, it’s actually quite delicious! So we stopped the conversation and focused on the food more, took another spoonful of the Loco moco, it’s way better than I expected, surprisingly tasty! The beef patties is juicy, real-meaty and fulfilling!

I would recommend coming here if you want an easy and nice brunch, not overcrowded or hectic but quiet to meet with friends or family. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still in Saratoga so it’s pricy, and don’t expect IG friendly photo. But it’s a decent place if you want to eat and chat!
And downtown Saratoga got a lot of public parking spots, convenient to walk to restaurant.

“Everything we had was tasty. The mussels dish was our favorite. Garlic noodle was also really good. The salmon mousse, we couldn’t really taste the salmon in it but it tasted fine. We also ordered catch of the day dish (not shown in picture), the fish was light and crispy but the kimchi fried rice it came with was lacking; it tasted more like lightly seasoned fried rice—couldn’t taste the kimchi. Overall, the presentation was great and taste was enjoyable.“

First time having it. Good portion of chicken. Reminded me of butter chicken. Definitely recommend.

This place opens till late and the staff were very friendly. We (Taiwanese) were the only table who were not Koreans. Food was okay, the pineapple soju was really nice!
Food portions are big but taste is average
I highly recommend ordering pineapple soju or watermelon soju. Share it with everyone.
There will also be some fairy sticks on top, which looks very cute when photographed.
- There is a fried pork belly dish which is very delicious.
