“As soon as I got into the restaurant I can tell if this is a great place and a great atmosphere. It was just right and perfect. The staff members treated us like family. My mom for Mother's Day spun the wheel and we got $30 off our next item, and the owner I believe gave my dad a free spin and we got a free item also as well. My dad said he loved this place so much that he's going to be here for Father's Day. Highly recommend this restaurant to enjoy with your family or maybe just a few co-workers or friends. The funny thing is that when my mom first spin it says a free alcohol drink which nobody drink. But of course she re-spin the wheel again. Food was delicious, also was there non caffeine hot teas.“

“Nestled in the heart of San Jose, I can truly say I have found my favorite restaurant. For any newcomers to the city or locals looking for a new go-to bar, Goodtime Bar is the spot. It goes without notice the effort this restaurant makes to create a sense of community: DJ nights, guest chefs, wine club, run club – all specially designed to bring people together. I never write reviews, but this jewel deserves all the accolades. Beyond the electric atmosphere, the vast natural wine selections paired with novel cuisine make every visit an experience that elevates my palate. The carefully crafted dishes show the detail chef Alex gives to every order. Diverse ingredients embrace a fusion of cultures, with familiar dishes like Caesar salad (Endive Caesar @ Goodtime), pasta (Bucatini @ Goodtime), and shrimp tacos (Tacos Dorados @ Goodtime) delivering a magical explosion of flavors. I tend to find myself methodically portioning out my meal - not wanting to reach that one last bite from my plate. With a rotating menu, every visit is an exploration of new tastes and has cemented me as a regular.

​This spot has become our favorite destination for a relaxing wine night, whether it's a casual evening with friends or a date night. The cozy atmosphere is consistently a hit with everyone we introduce to the place.
​What really sets it apart are the owners, Nici and Ty. They are incredibly friendly and offer great recommendations. It was a pleasant surprise that they recognized us months after our first visit and even remembered my girlfriend's preferred wine! We also love their flexible flight concept, which allows you to sample any of the wines available for a single set price.
​It's also an excellent choice if you're looking for a laid-back wine bar before heading over to a Sharks game!“

“What a hidden gem! The snowflake potstickers are so crispy and juicy, best enjoyed in the restaurant! My son gets so excited to go here before his baseball practice. My daughter loves their soup dumplings, and the fried rice is our family favorite. Staff is always kind.“

I’ve been telling people it was the best meal I’ve had this year, and that still holds true almost into May! I’m so glad we chose to spend an evening here and I can’t wait to come back.

Standouts were the raw fish round with the salmon dish with thin apple slices and the tuna with what I think was a red pepper puree. The hamachi crudo and the oysters were outstanding, as was the liver mousse crustini. The grilled fish with bao buns was my favorite warm dish.

My only critique is the dessert was a bit too rich for my taste. What a problem😂“

We arrived on their kickoff into First Fridays and while it got busy outdoors, it didn't interfere with us getting to enjoy our time together, holding great conversation, and also having Jake as our server who was attentive and swift in his service while being mindful as he served drinks, food, refills, etc. Our group of four shared multiple, flavorful, delicious plates (pita + chips, empanadas, disco fries, spicy handroll, quinoa + tuna poke salad, branzino) and desserts, along with several rounds of the cocktails. I will say that the mango sticky rice did not come with fresh mango, and the ice cream sub worked but did not meet our expectation as we had hoped for fresh mangoes. The pandan flan was also good, but we questioned its authenticity as it wasn't the light green color as it is in other desserts and Asian treats. Sharing as they were still good and setting others up for enjoying without expectation.“

Roy was also great with the room upgrade when he saw that I had brought a friend and might have needed a bigger bed. 10/10 Customer Service!“

“The place had a long queue and we waited about 30 minutes to get in. Credit to the staff for managing the waitlist well. They didn’t turn anyone away, even after their official closing time.

The food was good, but not quite worth such a long wait. Most dishes came with a lot of rice, so even a single dish can be quite filling. Service was fast once we were seated.“

Presentation, flavor, and attentiveness of staff made the experience fantastic. We nibbled our way through a lunch of Salmon, Tuna tacos, Burrata bowl (with avocado!), Beef Wellington, all with a lovely sparkling wine. We enjoyed our meal in the outdoor patio, though we loved the interior of the restaurant, too, with its small market and warm, welcoming feel. We will definitely come back.“
