“I am absolutely blown away by my experience of working with Nick and his team to create my son's Pokemon themed birthday cake. From the very start, Nick was super quick to respond and took the time to not only work with me to draw out my vision, but also offered some of his own ideas and creativity which brought this project to a whole other level! He was so easy to communicate with and I appreciate him always making himself available to follow up on any thoughts or questions I had throughout! Our party was on Easter day when the bakery was closed but he was super accommodating and made sure to deliver the cake to the venue the day before. Our guests could not believe that the figurines were sculpted- everyone thought they were toys!! Most importantly, my son, who is typically difficult to impress, was absolutely in love with the finished product and couldnt wait to take it home. I think we can all agree that the photos speak for themselves!! I am so, so thankful for Nick and his incredible team at Shirin Bakery and cannot wait to work with them again in the future! In the meantime, Ill be recommending them to anyone that is looking for the perfect cake.“
“Had a craving for Hansen's cupcakes today. I love Hansen's cakes but the cupcakes are perfect for when you want a smaller portion. Bought 3 cupcakes- 2 vanilla and one chocolate all toped with buttercream frosting. All 3 cupcakes were absolutely delicious. The vanilla with rainbow sprinkles is my favorite. All the cupcakes were top I just have a preference for that flavor. The girl who took my order was courteous & patient while I decided what to get. Will definitely be coming back! There are many sample cakes out to see- all beautiful. It's a low key ambiance. The cakes are fancy but the shop is low key and clean. The focus is really on the cakes as it should be. The cakes & cupcakes of Hansen's Cakes are exceptional!“
“The food at Porto’s is great. Their savory basket food is very tasty. The seasoning on their meats is fantastic. I had the steak torta, the meat is tender, lean, and well seasoned. The bread is soft with a nice chewiness to it. The ingredients are all very fresh. I also had a guava smoothie, which is amazing, if you like guava. I will definitely be returning and trying other items on the menu.“
“I've been getting their pastry on my way home recently and everything I tried has been great. Tiramisu, Napoleon, Fruit tart, Chocolate muffin, blueberry muffin and the butter cookies. Looking forward to try the spinach and cheese croissant they will start to offer sometime next week.“

“We stumbled upon this bakery and got tempted with the 'Hong Kong' style baked goods. We were there around 2:30pm and by then most baked items were sold out. There were a few egg custard tarts left so we took the 'buy 5 and get 1 free' offer. And I must say they are legit HK egg custard tarts ! They still tasted good the next day.Next time we will try other items.“

Every summer, I make an appointment with Mary 2-3 weeks prior to my birthday and she always is eager and ready to bring my ideas to reality in her creative space. Even after we have finalized all the details, she will contact me a couple times prior to the pick up date just to verify the details or to suggest new ideas. This bake shop is located in a tough spot for business but has a couple parking spots in front which is nice if you snag one. If you're coming from Barrington and turn right on Olympic, it's easy to then turn right on the street that JFB is located. If you're coming the opposite way, Olympic turning left to get there it's kinda dangerous imo!“

“Really kind and friendly staff which I appreciate. They let you sample some flavors since their ice cream menu is constantly changing. I appreciate that they let you sample the flavors since I can be choosy with what ice cream flavor I want. During the last visit, there was an issue with the gift card we had and the staff member was kind enough to see what the issue was and called (over the phone) the manager/owner in order to fix the issue. The store is small inside but there is plenty of seating outside. Also plenty of parking as it is located in the central part of the shopping center. Definitely recommend if you are looking for ice cream around the West Hills area.“
“This is a family run business. Wendy bakes out of her home and has little Bake sales on her porch. The house is quirky, with funny weird decorations on the outside- nothing that you would imagine a bakery to be. And you don't go inside the house. Order a few days ahead and remind her on the day of because she gets booked with a lot of orders . Her son brings out your order. Her cherry pies are fresh out of the oven. A thin light crust with an incredibly tasty cherry filling.“
“We received a cake for my son’s 17th birthday and it was amazing! They included many special touches to personalize the cake while still maintaining a pleasing aesthetic. Not only was the cake amazing but we also had a mishap with our dog bumping the cake while it was in its packaging which damaged the corner. Although it was completely our fault, Crumbles jumped in and quickly repaired the cake for us and saved the day after much stress and anxiety about the mishap! “It's Lady M!! by far best chess cake ever had. The taste is on par with Lady M in NY next to Central Park. Overall really awesome desserts, but be prepared to pay the absolute premium for it too.
