“I chanced on this place from a person I met at a bar downtown DHS. Looks kinda trashy from the outside but don't judge this book by its cover. The best Karaoke experience I've ever had and I do it a lot. A real stage, stage lighting, smoke machines and friggin A, an actual guitar player who looks like Mick Mars playing along if he knows the song and he seemed to know them all! I sang Black Keys, Deep Purple and The Who so right up his alley. Redd was impressed enough that he bought me a shot after I sang The Seeker, never had a DJ buy me a drink! Both the bartenders were super nice and drinks were really inexpensive so this place freaking rocks. Great crowd too, lots of really friendly locals. And also get this, the place has several pool tables, the longest shuffleboard I've ever seen and dog friendly too!“

“There is good food, there is great food, and once in a great while you hit that place that not only has great food, but amazing service, owner and staff. Those moments really hit, and this was one of those moments. Hint, they open at 4, get in line at least by 3:30.“

“This place is my all time favorite restaurant to eat in the Coachella Valley. Buzz always has the best recommendations for beer, the cocktails are fantastic, and the food is always fresh and tasty. We lived in Palm Desert for about 11 years and every time we’re back in town we make sure to come by here to grab a drink and some snacks. “Concise Review Great poolside food, drinks, & staff ----- Longer Review We have visited Marriott’s Shadow Ridge in Palm Desert since 2002, and afternoons at the pool, with food and drinks from Chuckwalla Bar & Grill, are a bit part of every trip. One of my all time favorite photos is from a nice afternoon, poolside, several years ago when the kids were little... it was one of our most fun and peaceful afternoons as a family anywhere... the photos is of our daughter, asleep on my wonderful wife, my wonderful wife smiling at me, and our son was on the chair in between us, smiling as he was drinking a strawberry smoothie from Chuckwalla’s... such a blessing. We visited Southern California - Palm Desert, Yucaipa, and Malibu - for Spring Break 2021. This trip we had more activities off-property than usual, so we only got one nice long afternoon at the pool, and RebekahM made it a little extra special. The sun, the water, fun in the pool... and smoothies... such a joy. Before I had a chance to think about it, smoothies were en route from Chuckwalla... strawberry, banana, and alcohol-free pina colada. Rebekah delivered them to us with a big smile and infectiously positive attitude. Rebekah turned the fun up a notch with her dancing and smiling and laughing as she took our orders and delivered to the families around the pool... everyone was extra happy when she was around. Carlos has been bartending for 17 years and it shows. He has great suggestions on the food menu, and made a perfect cocktail exactly the way it should be.

“This has been one of my favorite restaurants since it opened years ago but my seafood pasta was absolutely flavorless. I have had it in the past and it was always very good but last night I had to load it with lemon, salt and pepper. I finally gave up on the pasta as it was congealed and just plain awful. I gave up and ate the seafood. The waiter offered to take it back but the elders that I had brought to dinner were almost done with their dinner so I declined.“

“Just attended their annual October Halloween Roundup Rally! Camping area is nice, but not extravagant, mostly power and water sites with a dump station on your way out! But their people are awesome and fun! We had corn hole, and shuffleboard tournaments, Bunko and cribbage games! Feed us every night with great food, open no host bar and the best French fries you will ever eat! Love this facility and the people, will definitely go back next year!“

“This is our favorite restaurant in La Quinta and we eat here at least once a week. On this HH visit we had our usual Stuft Pizza small classic pizza and a ceasar salad. The small pizzas are thin crust (our favorite) and we think their ceasar salad is also excellent. Service is always good and this visit it was also good. Food is always good and a great value too.“

“Table chips and salsa are really good. My wife ordered a medium house margarita and I ordered a medium vintage margarita. The vintage is $9.00 more and we both honestly couldn't tell the difference. I will say I was shocked how big the medium margarita is! For appetizer we ordered macho nachos with beef... Yum! For our meal we shared a chimichanga burrito which was also really good. I would definitely recommend this place for great Mexican food. Staff were all very friendly as well.“

“Had a fantastic experience at the Hideout yesterday. We couldn’t get a table at another restaurant for an hour so while we were waiting we walked around and saw a guitarist setting up at that Hideaway. They let us know that they opened at 11:00, but the waiter arranged for us to sit in the patio and got us drinks while we waited for a few minutes. The food was very good, my burger was the best burger I have ever had and it came out as ordered (no bun/no cheese). I chose a drink off the menu (Strawberry Mule) and ordered it as a mocktail, refreshing and delicious. The service was delightful and the music lovely. Definitely going back.“

“Went to a 5pm fundraiser. Clearly they let an entire restaurant in early. There was not one seat available at 5. It was already maxed out with people wolfing down appetizers and wine with not one seat open. Not Cool. Clearly the good Ole boys got the we will let you in early memo. “We were looking for a place to have a quick dinner and did not feel like venturing out. It was also taco Tuesday and the prospect of reduced price tacos and margaritas was tempting. There is a nice bar along with high top tables and traditional tables. The dining room was very bright, and we opted to sit at the bar. We were taken care of by Kevin who did an admirable job of managing a busy bar. Kevin‘s advice was helpful as we were going to order the happy hour tacos, but he pointed out that they were just not as good as the ones on the menu although they were cheaper. For the second time today I had tacos companion, and I split the shrimp tacos and the grilled mahi tacos. The tacos were on double wheat tortillas and had a nice selection of veggies as well as pineapple in them. An aioli was served on the side along with salsa Verde. The margarita was happy and priced at $12 and was a pint glass. Well-made. Overall, a lovely experience and worth another visit. Besides tacos, flatbreads and the like they do have a couple of more substantial entrées on the menu, such as pasta, salmon, short ribs, and skirt steak.“

“My boyfriend (a competitive pool player) and I are in town visiting and needed a place to practice. This place has 3 nice pool tables and everyone is super nice. We talked to the owner for a bit and he is such a nice, down to earth guy. Some of these reviews state otherwise but from my experience those people just need something to complain about. Great atmosphere and people. Will be coming here everytime we visit.“
