“I ordered the grilled pork sandwich and it came out in less than 5 minutes. They put in a pretty generous amount of pork and pickled veggies, and the bread had a nice, crispy crust. The pork was a little too peppery for me but otherwise well marinated. I managed to find free street parking in the front and was able to grab and go quickly.“

“I grew up here in the West Valley and have passed this place so many times. I have always been curious to try it since it's a shop that's been on Ventura Blvd for like 20 years. After a friend told me that this used to be her go-to lunch stop, I decided to give it a try. The parking is pretty great given its location. There's a parking structure that is fee free, and there is a side entrance to the shop so you don't have to walk all the way around back to the front street entrance. The cafe its self is has a NYC sub shop vibe to it. I enjoyed the friendliness of the staff. At my first visit, the shop owner was there helping me decide between sandwiches. The one thing that bummed me out was that they didn't have some of the items I wanted like Swiss cheese and the banana pudding. The owner stated she was out of Swiss for the day and that she hadn't made any pudding. However, I wasn't too upset cause I appreciate a restaurant that uses fresh ingredients! The sub itself, I ordered their Turkey Ham & Cheese, was pretty good! The pickles are house made and are delicious! The only things I didn't like were first, the pickle spear the comes with the sub was way too wet when she plated it with my sub. By the time I finished the first half of my sandwich, the bread of second half was soggy. Secondly, I do not like how they chop their ingredients. I prefer sliced tomatoes and onions and this place uses diced tomatoes and onions. Nevertheless, those are very minor preferences that I had. I still enjoyed the dry half of my sub and have been back a few more times since.“

“The biggest and best chicken tostada you will find anywhere! Baja salad is great with all the colored tortilla chips. Tuna roll, French toast, beef dip, Rueben, Pastrami, Denver omelette, All delicious meals I have had here that were great. Oh yeah, Hamburger with mushrooms, swiss cheese, bacon and tomato with crispy fries! I love this place! Carlos has worked hard to keep this place going with great tasting food. “I’ve been meaning to review this place for a WHILE. The only reason I didn’t get around to it sooner is because I was always so excited to eat my sandwich that I forgot to take a picture of it. Any sandwich here will be one of if not the best sub sandwich you’ll ever have and are all elevated to the next level with their Italian dressing that you HAVE TO get extra of. The sandwich in the picture is the Pandoras Box, and it’s fantastic, but the Hula Girl, Sweet Caroline, Captain Morgan, Endless Summer or just a traditional sub (I recommend the #6) are all amazing choices you will never be disappointed by. Also all the staff are super friendly. They even recognize my dad and I whenever we go. Easily the best sandwich’s in LA.Parking: It’s parking on Ventura, so it’s sucks, but you can usually find a spot.“

“I've been coming here for so long. This might be the best Vietnamese Sandwich shop in town. It's authentic Vietnamese for sure. They also bake their bread in-house and I've overhead other customers raving about it, sometimes coming in just to buy the bread! Also, try their Vietnamese coffee with your sandwich! I love that they sell other items at the counter in addition to their sandwiches; banh gio, cha lua, banh bot loc, just to name a few. In gacy, I'm craving their food as I'm writing this review! There is indoor seating available, parking is limited but it seems like most customers get their food to go so parking doesn't seem to be an issue.“

If you are just walking in, expect to wait a bit. They have quite the system going on here. They have people prepping the food and making sure its fresh, people taking orders, people packing up to-go orders, people servicing the tables. You will never feel like a certain group is getting prioritized more than you. They take care of walk ins, to-go orders, app orders, and table service efficiently and with a smile. I usually order ahead on the app and even when I have had to wait and ask about the status of my order, they ACTUALLY check on the status of my order and report back. They may have only one or two servers there but they take the time for each and every order, I witnessed it while waiting and then dining in. Everything always tastes so fresh. We ordered at the counter and they delivered the finished sandwiches to our table. But the first bite of my sandwich (a Buenos Aires) told me this place is very good! Steak, grilled mushrooms, peppers, cheese and chimichurri sauce on a telera roll--absolutely delicious! It came with freshly prepared potato chips that were also very good. My friend ordered a Health Nut sandwich with a side order of French fries. She was very happy with it, but then she has been getting sandwiches delivered from The Carving Board for a long time. This is a great sandwich place! My one suggestion? Get better signage so that the drivers on busy Ventura Boulevard can see that you are there!“

“Before you read the rest of this review, bear in mind that I have only eaten here once. HOWEVER! I have nothing but love and praise for this establishment. The food was delicious. The service was quick. And the atmosphere was visually engaging and relaxing. I ordered the Turkey and Avo and I am not exaggerating when I say that it was one of the best sandwiches of my entire life. It was creamy, sweet, and savory. A flavor profile that I had never experienced prior. One that frankly, I didn't think would be as delectable as it was.
