We ordered the ribeye, New York strip, fries, Japanese Caesar, and skewers. Every steak was cooked perfectly - juicy, tender, and richly flavorful. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned, the Japanese Caesar was fresh and delicious, and the skewers were my wife’s favorite and added an extra savory touch.

The restaurant’s atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it ideal for a relaxing night out. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the manager went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. Their genuine hospitality made our visit even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a halal-friendly steakhouse with excellent food and great service, Matu is a fantastic choice in Beverly Hills.“

“I went to the Tonchin location in New York late last year, so I came into the Los Angeles location excited and with high expectations. The food was good overall. My wife did not quite understand the hype around it, but I personally thought it was solid, even though it did not stand out as much as the New York location.

Where the difference between the two locations stood out the most was in customer service. We had to wait nearly twenty minutes just to receive the check, and throughout the meal the server rarely came by to check on us. Because of this, the overall experience at the Los Angeles location fell short of what I experienced in New York.

Then came SpeedyFromda9, moving like his sneakers were powered by caffeine and prophecy. His flow was razor sharp, slicing through the beat with a voice that sounded like it had seen too much and decided to weaponize the truth. The whole room leaned forward like the floor tilted toward him.

And just when things were about to cool off—Doctor Striker took the stage. Think gothic punk warrior meets cybernetic cult leader. He and his band delivered a set that felt like getting electrocuted in the middle of a haunted sermon. Guitars screamed, drums exploded, and somewhere in the chaos, the audience found religion. Or at least a reason to sweat through their favorite black t-shirts.

The bartenders—Ariel and Sam—kept the drinks flowing like they were summoned by incantation. The sound? Flawless, thanks to the wizard behind the knobs, Nubs, who made every snare hit feel like thunder in your chest.

The walls were thick with stories. Dave Grohl, Jack Black, Slash—they’d all played here. Not as VIPs. As pilgrims. Worshippers. Just like the rest of us.

Was a thin crust pizza but good crispy crust, not too thin. I got a strawberry spritz, non-alcoholic drink that was fresh and my friend got the Espresso Martini. I'd never tried one before but had a sip and will absolutely get it next time, very smooth. The bartender was nice and attentive.“

“We went here when exploring the Hollywood area on a whim and looking for a comfortable lounge bar to end our evening with. Came across this one when searching for recommended lounges, and after passing 2 that weren’t the evening vibes we were hoping for, we were very happy to take a chance on this one.

The Spare Room is on the mezzanine floor of the Roosevelt hotel, but doesn’t require you to be a guest or have reservations (at least we didn’t need to when we came on a Monday evening in January). Walking into the lounge, there’s a bar followed by a series of couches on the left, great for a date night or drinks after work with friends. Next to the couches are pool tables, they aren’t too full when we came in but I wouldn’t be surprised if they are popular on busier nights.

The bartender was wonderful, easy to have conversations with and she was very accommodating when I asked if she could use less syrup and more coffee in the espresso martini, which was one of the best I’ve had in a while. Definitely overall has an atmosphere of authentic vibes, welcoming staff, and options to chill, chat, or play some games with friends old or new.

There wasn’t live music when we came, but the bartender said there often is depending on the night, and we will look forward to coming again soon!“

“We have been going to Horses ever since they opened since it’s right in our neighborhood. The most friendly staff with a big shout out to Amanda. The most amazing craft cocktails and absolutely delicious food. I think we’ve almost tried everything on the menu and have not been disappointed once. Her fingers moved like liquid gold on the keyboard and her compositions were witty and mesmerizing. The word that kept coming to mind as they performed was "subtle." The music was powerful, but so discrete as to be gentle and gentile. Woodwinds, Bass, and Drums - all played with the kind of delight that makes everyone love the performers as well as the music. “I have dined here twice, once for breakfast(which was amazing) and once for dinner. My recent visit was two weeks ago for dinner for my sister's birthday. Our food was absolutely scrumptious, everything we ordered was extremely DELICIOUS. There were five of us and all of us enjoyed our selections. The best part of our dining experience was our dining attendant, Michael. He was attentive, joyous, professional, knowledgeable, fun and gave awesome recommendations! We will be back very soon.
