It's my first time here in this simple looking hidden gem and I had a great experience. They barely opened when I came so the store was clean. Their menu had so many variations of Thai food and most of them looked delicious.

I ordered the Thai coffee, shrimp and pork spring rolls, steamed pot stickers and the seafood combination fried rice with added chicken.
The Thai iced cofee were very good, although I am not really a coffee person, I liked it.
Their pork and shrimp eggrolls were not bad and the steamed pot stickers were awesome.

The fried rice came with shrimp, squid, and 4 pieces if fried fish plus I asked them to add some chicken on it. It was fantastic!
I could finish it all because the portion was generous and i only cost $40 something dollar for everything.“

“Incredible spot for authentic boat noodle right here in van nuys. We have boat noodle and it’s perfect richness, deep flavor broth. To wash it down, Thai iced tea is very authentic southern Thai style Thai iced tea. It’s perfectly sweet, creamy, and refreshing. It’s great to have a Thai legit noodle house in the neighborhood. Highly recommend five this place a try.“

“I’ve been coming to Grandma’s Thai Place for a long time now, and it’s always been one of my favorite spots. I regularly recommend it to friends and family because the food has always been consistently delicious, and it’s a place I’ve spoken very highly of over the years.

On my most recent visit, I noticed that the orange chicken has actually improved. It tastes less overly fried than it used to, which lets the flavor of the chicken and sauce stand out much more. It was a pleasant surprise and definitely a change for the better.

Unfortunately, the Pad Thai was a disappointment this time.

It lacked the bold, savory flavor that I’m used to, and it looked unusually pale instead of having the rich orange-reddish color it normally has. It tasted like it was missing the sauce or seasoning that usually makes the dish so enjoyable.“

“What a fantastic discovery in Van Nuys. I had such a lovely time here and the food was truly impressive. Everything arrived fresh and flavorful, especially the tofu which was fried to perfection.

The restaurant has a very comfortable atmosphere with these unique, patterned booth seats that make it feel so cozy. It is exactly the kind of place where you want to sit back and enjoy a long, relaxing meal. I will definitely be returning soon to try more of the menu.“

“We had lunch here on our way to Hollywood. Better than any Thai restaurant we visited in LA. Their Khao Soi was delicious ! We ordered both dry and curry - both were fantastic. “Wanted to go to republique for brunch on the way to LACMA. Obviously there was a long wait around 10:30am and we were too hungry to wait. This was the nearest place that was open. Place was empty for breakfast (I assume it’s lunch/dinner that’s more popping) and very cute inside. My kid and I are now OBSESSED with their shrimp omelette - was so airy and light. The lady that was serving us - I assume the owner - was super lovely. Kid has been begging to go back every day since. They also have Thai iced tea, interesting drinks (something pink and milky that the kid enjoyed), and fancy cappuccino machine.“

“Fast and helpful service in a cute vegan cafe with a parking lot and real fresh flowers on the table. The Mac and cheese was very good, but I was most impressed by the shrimp tempura roll! As a lifelong vegetarian, vegan sushi can sometimes freak me out, but this one was incredible! I would have gotten another roll if I wasn’t already so full! It is a little bit small so on a busy Saturday lunch you might wait in line, their parking is by Dixie hotel, please make sure to ask the servers a copy of what you need to put in your car so you don't get towed.“

“I came here on a rainy afternoon with no expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted so warmly. And then the food came.

You know that scene in Ratatouille at the end of the movie when the big food critic takes a bite and gets that flashback to his childhood? That warm, comforted, happy feeling? That’s exactly how this food made me feel.

It was hands down the best Thai food I’ve ever had in my life. Every bite tasted like real family, home-cooked love not just restaurant food.

The service was incredible. The woman there packed up my leftovers for me (something even a lot of “nice” restaurants don’t do), opened the door when I left, and even offered to let me borrow an umbrella because it was still raining.

If you want authentic, family-style Thai food that makes you feel something, this is the spot.

“I had the Salmon Kra Pow which was amazing. My partner had the Smiling Tiger and really enjoyed it. His sister brought us here and said she loved the food. She is vegan and had Pad See Ew with tofu.

They had traditional thai tea, fries, chicken wings and more. Great spot to eat and people watch while dining outside.“

“Bro.. just moved to the area early this year, my partner and I decided to find a lunch spot close by. Looked at reviews and decided to give this spot a try. WHAT?! Hidden gem!! The service- server was super friendly, helpful, and super quick!, Thai tea slapped! (Must get), zap wings - I do think need a sauce so we are taking home to create our own, fried chicken (GET THIS! Moist, but crunchy and soooo yummy, papaya salad(my partner said in her 33 years on earth this is the #2 all time best papaya salad she’s ever had(#1 is her moms), mango sticky rice was perfect- will be coming back for JUST this sometimes 😂
Oh yea I got yellow chicken curry to go so I’ll report later how that is 😂

It’s very small only 4 tables inside, so it was perfect daytime lunch date spot. Shit my partner and I were talking about which coworkers we were bringing here next 😂

Super clean inside. Seems like a lot of afternoon parking in the lot it’s in, not sure about night.
