“Great Food, Disappointing Service — A Missed Opportunity

Saltie Girl has a well-earned reputation for exceptional food, and in that regard, it delivered. Every dish that came out of the kitchen was flavorful and beautifully presented — the oysters, in particular, were a standout.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the service.

After ordering a bottle of wine, it took over 20 minutes for our server to return, only to inform us that the manager would be retrieving the wine. Another 10 minutes passed before she reappeared — not with the wine we ordered, but with a different, more expensive bottle. Rather than apologizing for the mix-up or offering it at the original price as a courtesy, the switch was presented matter-of-factly. A gesture of goodwill here would have gone a long way.

To make matters worse, our oyster order was mishandled — not once, but twice — with incorrect counts and missing varieties. For a restaurant that charges premium prices, these details matter. Guests expect not only excellent food, but also attentive, polished service to match.

In the end, the meal was delicious, but the experience left a bitter aftertaste. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and invests in training their staff. As much as I enjoyed the food, I won’t be returning until the service rises to the level of the kitchen. Dining here should feel seamless — not like a constant series of corrections.“

“I had a wonderful experience. I got to my reservation early, so I sat at the bar to wait for the rest of my party. I was helped immediately in ordering a drink. I chose their Tempranillo red wine. So delicious and easy to drink. I highly recommend. The bar manager greeted me to see how I was doing. He was very nice.

The decor was super cute with pretty umbrella canopies over each table. The service was excellent, our server was friendly and attentive.

Honestly everything we ate was delicious. If I HAD to choose, I’d say my favorites were the scallop appetizer and lamb entree. ? I wish I took photos, the presentation was beyond exquisite.

I would definitely go again, and I would recommend anyone and everyone to come here.“

“My wife took me here to celebrate my birthday because I wanted to come here. I haven't been to this BOA location in like 10 years so it was long overdue. My wife made reservations and put we were celebrating a birthday. When we arrived to the place, we did the valet parking in front of the restaurant. It's credit card only with the valet so be aware of that. We then walked into the restrauant and checked in, they took us to our table right away. The inside of the restrauant is very nice, exclusive and feel like a luxury place. When we got seated our waiter Abbey came to greet us and told us about their special today. She took our drinks order which was just soda with free refills because I asked since at another place they didn't tell me it wasn't free refills. We already knew what we wanted so when she came back with our drinks, we put in our order. My wife got the Chilean Sea Bass because she was deciding between that or the Linguine with Clams but Abbey said the Sea Bass was a better choice. I went with the Filet center cut at medium with the peppercorn sauce since you get 1 free sauce. We also got regular fries and original Mac & cheese. Our entree came out first and then they brought out the sides after. My filet mignon was delicious, cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The peppercorn sauce was good as well but I like my filet more without it. My wife totally loved her Sea Bass, just wish it was a bigger portion because it was delicious. My fries was great as well because I'm more of a French fries person and my wife enjoyed her Mac & cheese. All of the employees here are amazing, they will keep an eye on your table and if there any mess or finished plates then they'll come take care of it. The owner stopped by and ask us about our experience to which we told him we were having an amazing time. We ended the night with a carrot cake that Abbey brought out to us and it was good as well since I never had a carrot cake. I would recommend coming here if you want to try a great steakhouse. We didn't have any issues with the valet and I checked my car hidden dashcam where it records the inside of the car to which the valet driver was respectful since I saw other reviews with bad experiences. They also charge a labor subcharge here so be aware but it's not too bad.

“I had an amazing experience. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was perfect—great atmosphere, and the playlist was on point with hits from the 90s and 2000s that brought back so many memories. The highlight of the meal was definitely the broccoli appetizer. It was incredible—crispy, flavorful, and unlike any broccoli dish I've had before. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the whole evening even better. I can't wait to go back!“

However, our experience started on a bit of a frustrating note—we had to wait over 15 minutes past our reservation time and were left standing by the bar, which wasn’t ideal.

Once seated, the food and drinks were impressive; everything we ordered tasted fantastic. That said, the service could have been better—we had to follow up a couple of times for missing items from our orders.

“Pros: Food is INCREDIBLE. We ordered the guacamole appetizer. It was so smooth, creamy and delicious. Loved the shaved plantain chips too, crunchy, light, nicely salted. Mains were outstanding. Rib eye cap was tender, cooked perfectly medium, juicy and seasoned with salt and pepper beautifully. Kudos for hot stone bed presentation. Pacific sea bass was a show stopper. Elegant presentation with colorful seasoning over this well prepared fish. So flaky, juicy and melted in our mouths. Loved it!
Drinks were well balaced and delectable. The Dreamcatcher had a perfect blend of pineapple and coconut. Loved the ornate tropical flower presentation too! Just, WOW!
Areas to improve: While all staff was very kind, drinks took a very long time to come out. The guac came out well before our drinks did. No one ever came to refill our water glasses. The broccolini we ordered never came out. The second drink we ordered never came out. We appreciated the $23 "long wait" discount, but a 5 star establishment must have 5 star service. Overall, we still had a wonderful time at this whimsical Cancun inspired establishment.
