“One reason I really like this place is the fast service but you have to wait to get seated without reservation. Even if you joined the waitlist, you still have to wait when you get there so it’s kind of frustrating. But on the plus, once you’re seated, the service is quite fast from there on. Good freshly made handrolls and other items. The decor…Just my own opinion , i’m sure many loves it. The minimalist decor, I find it cold,dull and boring staring at a big gray concrete wall and kind of telling you that you need to go as soon as you’re done eating 😆 Which they literally are doing from what I’ve read. They don’t want you to enjoy any kind of artwork in front of you 😆“

“The food was very good. I dined solo and had chicken liver mousse, the yellowtail crudo, the peach and tomato burrata salad, and the crab cake. The mousse was rich and interestingly paired with pickled blackberries and honeycomb. The crudo was delicious with the refreshing citrus. The salad too felt very fresh and like I was holding on to late summer. The crab cake was good, the sauce had a nice balance of spice and sweetness, it was very salty which is not unexpected with crab. The service was kind and attentive. I was very pleased with my experience and would return again if I'm back in Santa Monica.“

“Love Saltie Girl, ambience is warm staff welcoming and all the seafood is so creative - ive had the clam Chowder which comes with marbled potatoes crispy bacon on top and atleast 3 clams in the shell some of the best ive ever had. The fish & chips is divine with perfectly crispy fish and crispy and pillowy soft fries. Oysters were fresh and the bone in dover sole sublime - great drinks too my mom loved her totos straight up martini. All in all bit expensive but worth every cent while fining there or ordering in“

“When they say spicy it really is! We were at Monkish down the street and wanted some ceviche or aguachile and saw this place as we drove down the road. We went with the shrimp aguachile and were warned it was spicy. They weren’t wrong but it was SO GOOD. We got the 12 ounce size with 4 tostadas and it was perfect to split for two people. Washed down with a cucumber and lime agua fresca it was the perfect combo!“

“The signature dish is the crab in sauce, which comes in medium and large sizes. medium is two crabs with two bowls of rice, and large is three crabs. Compared with other Korean restaurants, the sauce crab taste is mild, and it will not be salty enough to explode in the middle of the meal and cannot continue to eat. The crab is fresh, not fishy, and the meat is firm, not squishy. The crab meat is also very full, the crab legs are full, there is no empty shell crab. The sea urchin rice is a little smaller but the sea urchin is enough. regular sea urchins are not particularly sweet, but they are fresh and worth the price. The sea urchin Rice bowl combo will be served with steamed eggs, runny eggs and two prawns in sauce. Raw marinated salmon rice is amazing to me. The salmon is marinated just enough to be flavorful, but not overly salty. The portions are generous. You can eat two bites of each piece of salmon.“

“Seafood quality is better than supermarket quality, and of course this means you’ll pay more for it. The cafe food is great but very pricey coming from someone visiting from out of state. We got the poke bowl, the calamari and clam chowder, the lobster roll, and the Dungeness crab pasta. There is also a good selection of alcohol and Asian sauces as well as vegetables.“

“Was really excited to try this place with a galpal recently, and while the space itself is no doubt gorgeous, found the service and food a bit lackluster. We waited a long time to be greeted and get water once sat, even though the restaurant was only partially full - so much so the server did apologize once they did show up. But then we proceeded to wait a long time again to place our order, and then had to flag down our server after waiting a long time to get another glass of wine mid-meal. Overall, it was a fine experience, but was really shocking to be charged a credit card fee on the bill. I can't imagine folks are paying cash often at this price point, and I've never ever been passed a 3% credit card fee at a nice, sit-down restaurant.“

I know our request is unusual but I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our girls dream come true they've always wanted to try a seafood boil without their throat getting itchy and this is the first ever without any cross contamination. “The first time I ever had a lobster roll was here. I AM GLAD it was here. Maybe it was just the bartenders turn at the music I dont know. They were playing mid 90's 2000's rock the whole time, banger after banger! I was looking for a quiet place to eat, but this place took me by surprise so I stayed. The Lobster roll was amazing, warm and Buttery. NOT CHEWY! Beer selection was awesome too. You gotta try the crab and jalapeen dip, also the calamari was delicious. I will be coming back! If you want the dive bar feel with fun employees this is the place.“

Everything is great here but crudo with jalapeno oil, passionfruit and ginger granita IS the item that you must order. So exceptional that I’m going to make it at home. Spoon it for the best experience.

Hush puppies, clams casino, oysters obv, fish baked in paper, tuna frites etc all great.

Very enjoyable for an extended sit down. If you think you want to sit for hours and enjoy friends, conversations and food, this is one of the spots.“

She had tostada de ceviche de pescado , taco suave de pescado and I had tostada hawaiiana and a taco Dorado de Cameron.

Overall a pleasant experience we will def be passing thru again with more family.

Def Recommend: the tosatad hawaiiana but next time I'd order some avocado with it. Since it doesn't automatically come with it

The taco came garnished with shredded cabbage, diced salsa and sauced it look really good.

Everything came plated beautifully i appreciate the attention to detail, the flavors, and the freshness of the seafood.

Next time I want to try: the ostiones preparados, the taco de pulpo, and the callo de hacha aguachile style“

“L&E is my go-to neighborhood spot. So lucky that I am steps (well, two flights of Silver Lake steps) away.
