“The restaurant needs to buy one can of WD-40 to fix their squeaky front door. Had to wait 20 minutes outside the front door waiting for our table (which was not a big deal) but for the incredibly squeaky front door which opens repeatedly. Everyone waiting for their table was getting a headache. Food was great. I won't return until I know that door is fixed.“
“Great tasting food, service was attentive, atmosphere/decor was great. We were told to order more food than we thought necessary, by the time we got the last dish - we couldn't finish it. Unfortunately, they packed it up in such a small container that you could tell half of the curry was thrown out! Recommend to use a bigger container!“
“Fia Steak Restaurant provided an unforgettable dining experience that surpassed all expectations. From the warm and knowledgeable staff to the exquisite culinary offerings, every aspect of the evening was exceptional. The appetizers, including the crunchy tuna cigars, hamachi crudo, and the newly introduced kingfish crudo, tantalized the taste buds with their harmonious flavor combinations. The steak tartare, with its spicy kick, was a standout dish, setting the stage for the incredible entrees to follow. The truffle cavatelli was a personal favorite, but the oxtail agnolotti stole the show with its rich wine and meat sauce, leaving a lasting impression as one of the most remarkable pasta dishes ever tasted. The bone-in ribeye, cooked to perfection and accompanied by dauphinois gratin of potatoes, mushrooms, and asparagus, showcased the restaurant's mastery of steak. Additionally, the A5 Wagyu, a kitchen recommendation, was a delectable indulgence.Dessert was the perfect conclusion to an extraordinary meal, with the chocolate soufflé and sticky toffee pudding topped with vanilla ice cream providing a sweet finale. Fia Steak Restaurant has set the bar exceptionally high with its unparalleled hospitality, service, and culinary quality. This dining experience was truly magical, THANK YOU, Fia Steak!“
“Crudo e Nudo is a tiny fish "bar" serving humble-looking dishes that are packed with elegance and finesse. The abalone changed my life. ? The menu changes based on availability. Wine pairings are perfect. Service is delightful, although it is a small staff so be patient during busy hours. We would have ordered more, had we not needed to save room for our second dinner at their sister restaurant.“
“I enjoyed this place a lot! We sat at the bar and got a chef's tasting menu. Everything was outstanding! We came in from Vegas for quick getaway and this place did not disappoint. If we're ever in the area again we're come back! We particularily enjoyed the cooked carrots and the mushroom pasta we were served“
“2024 update: dined in for the first time and was underwhelmed with the food. Chickpea curry is decent, kaya toast is decent. The dan dan noodles are straight up not good! Extremely salty and fatty. Skipped dessert (unheard of for me) because the main dishes already made me feel so heavy and unhealthy.2022 takeout review: The laksa is incredible. It is easily two meals (can serve two people). I'm not a spice person and this was at the upper end of my spice tolerance but not too spicy. A side of clay oven bread is really good to dip in it. My only complaint was I ordered takeout and my order was ready 15 minutes later than the original estimate.“
“This place is PHENOMENAL!!! Every time I've been here it has been killer. The staff is awesome, and the consistency of the food is right on. I recommend the Lobster tacos, Cali lobster roll, and the Lobster fries. This is my go-to place for all things lobster.Edit: Came here again today and this place seems to keep getting better. Great food, Excellent Service. The Lobster Bisque and the Clobster roll are fantastic!!“
“The cafe was not bad. I liked the friendly service. Foods were just ok. The clam linguine was pretty small in size and had some sands in it. Fish and chips were ok. It’s a good option for a casual lunch in the expensive Santa Monica neighborhood.“
“You walk-in, look through the menu, and then go place your order. The atmosphere was nice.Food: shrimp cocktail was a 3 out of 5. It was too small for the price, the flavor was just okay, Not worth the $$. Tacos: 3 out of 5, they were just okay. Calamari: was good but chewy, 4 out of 5. Steak and potato, good 4 out of 5. Fried shrimp: 5 out of 5. The shrimp was the best compared to the other meals. Salad was good,“
“We went here for my husband's birthday with family and it was a terrific experience. The service was excellent and the appetizers and entrees were all amazing. They even brought a delicious piece of their key lime pie with a birthday candle in for my husband. We will be coming back!!“
“Cozy, unique spot with great food and beverages, friendly hosts and waiters. Pile on the thrill of famous past visitors, and it makes for a full-package experience. Squeeze into the standing room, call ahead to reserve a table, or take your chances and see what luck brings you.“
“Sol Agave is a solid choice for lunch. It wasn’t super busy on a Sunday at 1pm. The covered patio was heated and comfortable even though it was chilly and windy. We tried the charred romaine salad which was just ok. The chips and salsa and guacamole were delicious. I also really liked the Camerones Al Gusto. Our vegan tacos could have been more flavorful, maybe with the addition of a nut based “crema” or something to give a little more flavor. Surprisingly dessert was one of my favorite parts of the meal. The butter cake is a MUST order menu item. Sol Agave is worth a try!“
“As usual Vito's did not disappoint us. We met the new owner Melissa Ahaus and she couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming, even though it was a busy Saturday . We always ask for Enrique who goes out of his way to make our dinner a great experience.“
“Walked by so many times and it's always busy. Finally checked it out Saturday for an early dinner. We made a reservation, since it seems they are always busy. Although there were some vacant tables for walk-ins when we arrived. So many 'fun' margaritas on the menu and I had the completely satisfying skinny-marg with zero guilt. My BF had a classic and liked it enough to have a second one. For food we went with:Classic Esquitos (Mexican corn cut off the cob, with spice, cheese and just loads of flavor). Rainbow Carrots were delish. There were roasted carrots, pureed carrots and diced marinated raw carrots. Absolutely ordering these next time. Fish Tacos. Best thing was each taco had a nice size piece of fish, not just fish scraps. It was a bit too salty but an extra squeeze of lime offset the salt. Carne Asada Plate. Salt at first bite was so overwhelming we had to ask if there was something wrong. The staff was more than helpful, offering to remake it with no added salt or take it off the bill and let us order something else. Ultimately we decided to let them remake it with no added salt, they did tell us the steak was pre-marinated. It tasted significantly better without extra seasoning. Service was 11/10 both servers went above and beyond to make sure we were pleased with our dinner. Next time I'm definitely getting one of their specialty margaritas and nachos!“
“My wife had looked at a few menus before our trip to the Santa Monica Pier and had her heart set on the clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. Not wanting to order the same thing, I decided to try a Connecticut style lobster roll for the first time, and my son wanted some grilled white fish, so he got the kids rice bowl. All of us really enjoyed our meals and while yes, you're going to pay a little more because of the location, we thought it was a great value and a delicious meal!“
“Wish we had more time to try this place out. As it was we had happy hour out on the back patio. Staff was attentive and the happy hour portions were exceptional, especially the fish tacos. Drink prices were up there for happy hour though. The vibe inside is cool, but the bar was full so we sat outside.“
“I wish I had a photo of my cod dish it was out of this world. Very friendly staff very helpful. The only reason I'm giving this four stars, is that they need more bartenders for those super busy nights. Everyone at our table c was happy and satisfied. We also edulged in some oysters we got the ones from Mexico and they were flavorful, jucy and not to salty. We had a great time.“
“The food was good, it was average what you can expect. The first person who greeted me seemed annoyed that I didn’t want to sit at the bar. I was sent to a separate section and the server there was great. The food came quickly and she ensured my drink was always refilled. The cheque came quickly once I was ready. I did not have to wait to get a table even though it was a busy Friday evening. There is also a small store attached where you can buy overpriced bubba gump merchandise.“
“Our first time there. We were a group of 8 for a birthday party. The food was amazing. The meat was grilled medium rare. The vegetable sides were seasoned just right. The birthday boy got a smoked old fashioned that reminded me of a campfire. Our server and staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu had suggestions for the meal. An outstanding meal and experience.“
“Ordered the halibut and it was delicious. I loved the sides- we got shoshito peppers + corn and also the butternut squash. The squash could have been seasoned better but the sauce they brought us made up for that. The truffle aioli was my favorite. Cocktails were excellent. There are some sweeter mixed drinks on the menu- we chose to order them for dessert.“
“The front patio was crowded and very loud, so of course we then had to shout to be heard ourselves. Other than that the food was really good, a couple had the branzino which was excellent, the lobster ravioli was also very good and I had the burger which was one of the best I have had. I did not need all the fries though, there were more than enough for 3 people!“
“I visited this restaurant for a work lunch for the first time. We came around noon and the wait was non-existent. Our waitress was very friendly and answered questions about the menu. This place is a gem that we would call (back home in TX) a whole in a wall. A small, quaint space with not much to look around.I order the Pad Thai lunch special with added broccoli (+$2). This came with a vegetable roll and petite salad. Our food came out hot and delicious! I had zerooooo complaints and would definitely be back to visit!“
“This place is so cute! The food is so good. I’m kind of poor so I can’t come here often. I walk by here every day and no one is inside. It makes me sad because you can tell the owners put so much love into this place. I’d hate to see it go. The sushi is fire and unique. You won’t regret trying to place. Praying for Keith Lee to come visit this place. ?? “
“Located in Shutters, the food ranged from mediocre to good. The restaurant was fairly empty on a Wednesday night. The seafood in the seafood pasta didn't taste the freshest. The carrot cake (local partner) is very good. Our server Jessie really rounded out the experience - he came by often but not over often. He made great recommendations and was genuinely friendly.“
“Sabine was a star!! We are a party of 14 and an international group!!! We ordered practically everything off the menu! She did not make even one mistake!!!! And she spoke German to my German family!'n we had the best evening because of her! Thank you!!!!“
“I was contemplating where to position this restaurant on my lists, well, the food is good and very well presented, but I wouldn’t say it’s the best, besides the lobster Mac and cheese, that one is of the charts, I can’t deny. The hamachi crudo and yellowfin tartare were fresh, but the sauce on the yellowfin did not keep up with the dish.We ordered the lobster, that I would give it a 5, it’s the house specialty. The black chitarra pasta was good, but needed something in the sauce.Overall, it’s good food, but preserving those exquisite places, I am happy with the review I just did.If you’d like a nice sunset view, go for a table near the window.“
“I have gotten takeout multiple times and it is always FANTASTIC. Really hot and fresh. The yellow curry, eggs rolls and chicken satay are some of my favorites. The place looks dated from the outside, but inside it is very clean and a very well run establishment. You won't be disappointed with the food. Highly recommend.“
“The customer service by the lady was amazing! She was so kind!!! They brought out food in 4 minutes like how?! I got my Nonnas Pasta and it was so good! My mom got tuna with mashed potatoes and salad. My brother and my dad got the Mediterranean steak salad and they both loved it. We all got breads with it which was wonderful! The bread was kind of cold but good! There was a booth chair in the corner kinda that was ripped. Overall 5 stars!Vegetarian options: Only a few!“
“Thai Dishes is my new favorite Thai restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is fantastic. The waitresses are super nice, very friendly, and they're very attentive. The ambience is very peaceful and I like the decor. I really like their Yellow Curry with tofu and their Vegetable Spring rolls. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.“
“Always an enjoyable experience. Greeted warmly, seated, ordered. Menu is something for everyone done right. Good runners always more than pleasant. Busy evening and our waitress was a busy lady. Management sent another more than capable body to relieve that jam, which was really appreciated. Good great, 3 of us shared appetizers, a delicious large steak, and the fish special. All left satisfied with leftover steak“
