“I’m a huge fan of this place and have been coming here ~2x a week since they opened to get giant tuna/super or club subs I like to eat when o WFH.

Unfortunately, the last few times the meat has been a bit light and tuna I got today seemed to barely have tuna on it. Dunno if it’s coming from corporate or what but guys please put enough meat on the sandwich! I really hope this goes back to normal so I don’t need to find a new deli.“

“This sandwich shop had been on my list for a while & we finally got a chance to try it via delivery. I can definitely say it didn’t disappoint! Our order was correct thanks to the great service. Ambiance seems fast casual but the sandwich itself was DELICIOUS. Will definitely be back when I’m craving a sandwich.“

The service isn’t 5 star but it’s good as it ever was and I’m fine with it. Unfortunately Ihad a very lousy customer service incident on the phone tonight after they botched my delivery order. I ordered grilled cheese sandwich and onion rings. Postmates delivered matzoball soup and rings. Johnny’s customer service lady (didn’t offer name) and the manager refused all responsibility for the wrong item they mispacked; she told me to take it up with Postmates. OK, but meanwhile can I get my sandwich that Johnny’s failed on? “Take it up with Postmates.” When I questioned that logic from a customer service perspective she said “you’re failing to understand!” and told me “don’t get an attitude with me!” I replied “an attitude with YOU?” and she hung up on me. Come on, Johnny’s, this whole thing started with your mistake. Accept responsibility and make it right. Don’t blame delivery. Just make it right.“

I thought I included a drink, but when I arrived the man who gave me my order said I didn’t. I confirmed and was happy to get a drink there as there was no wait. The LA sand which worker said my drink was on him today. I really appreciated that! The shop is so cute and open, in a great location on Melrose. I’m definitely going again. “Got the OG burger, and a banh mi the day before. The OG is a fantastic In-N-Out inspired burger. Really nailed it. Highly recommend. The Korean BBQ banh mi is one of the better banh mis I’ve had in a long time. Nice staff too, casual atmosphere. Def will be coming back.“

“Eric the manager today, Oct. 14, 2024, demonstrated exceptional customer service and friendliness. There was an issue with a female employee which I believe he privately and graciously addressed to my satisfaction. She assumed I was a homeless person in need of a bathroom. I use a walker. She refused to allow me to enter nor did she direct me to a place where I could enter. I never asked for a bathroom. She said I could go to Starbucks next door where there is a bathroom. She did not listen to me at all and was rude and inconsiderate.
Eric was also thorough with my orders and I appreciated it because I made several changes to suit my friends and my tastebuds. He went out of his way to make me feel valued as a customer. And lastly he escorted me to my car and made sure I knew how to enter the restaurant through the parking lot next time. Eric made my experience at Mendocino Farms very very pleasant. Sandwiches at Charlie's are delicious I'd try the Miami cubano sandwich now if you know about Latin America or Caribbean food, you will appreciate this sandwich, but wait! There are others like the Smoke angus brisket sandwich , yeah! One word to this sandwich is wow! This is a heck of a sandwich,, I also have tried The Italian job sandwich, a magnificent sandwich ,and the is also veggie sandwich for all those vegetarian people, there are more different sandwiches but, I can only repor on those that I've tried, your sandwich can be complemented with a variety of fountain drinks also with a apple juice , so when you're in town (LA). Visit this magnificent deli located at Venice beach, you will be happy you did, there is a lot to see and experience at Venice beach, and you will have a chance to experience all that Venice beach has to offer, have fun !

Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian items you may be interested in trying, or the attendant can fix you up with a sandwich item of your choice

Dietary restrictions: Because of the bread and the size of the sandwich it will not be recommended for a diet person, but talk to the attendant and he may suggest something on the line for diets.

Kid-friendliness: This place is a kid friendly, place ,but you may have to share a sandwich with your kid, the sandwiches are way too big for a kid. But kids with parents are always welcome.

Wheelchair accessibility: No need for a wheelchair ramp the deli is level to the point that you don't need a ramp, settings are on the outside of the deli . I will give 9 out of 10 to this deli sandwich place, for great service,good food, nice atmosphere and good views, only nine because the prices are high. I will highly recommend it. For all the other reasons. Happy day my friends.“

“This is hands down my favorite place to get a sandwich. Authentic as can be they make their own fresh breads and have amazing espressos.

This is everyone's little secret as it is a diamond in the rough their desserts sandwiches are amazing and they offer delivery. They have a pretty extensive wine menu that you would be able to pair with different cheeses they offer“

“Some seriously delicious but fairly small sandwiches. They have many locations all around Los Angeles this being the most Westward of the bunch. It’s located in a small strip mall with a lot of parking. However, the parking lot spaces are very tight so if everyone is not parking well it may be hard to find some spaces. If the parking lot is full it’s easy to find free parking in the neighborhood behind the shopping center. It’s more of a to go type of place although they do have tables inside to eat. The attendant behind the counter was very polite and all of our items were made quickly for a last-minute Saturday night dinner.

As mentioned the sandwiches here are quite small so don’t think of it like a submarine sandwich location or somewhere with giant belly busting sandwiches. It’s closer to the size of Porto’s sandwiches. We decided to try a few of their sandwiches. We ordered The Bentley, The Medianoche, and the Carving Club. The best of the bunch was the Bentley because the meat was truly tender and seasoned well and the sauce with it made it extra creamy and just a wonderful bite. The Medianoche was also pretty good, although not the most authentic Cuban sandwich. I wish it would’ve had a stronger mustard flavor, but still I really enjoyed it. The Carving Club was probably my least favorite of the three just because of its small size. The flavors were good, but it didn’t have the traditional club flavors in my opinion. We also ordered the tomato soup and fries as our sides and I was a big fan of the tomato soup, however, the goat cheese in it was extremely small, but the fries were not my favorite because they were a little too crisp and hard. I tend to like mine soft and salty.

Overall a solid sandwich place that has some great to go options. I would recommend anyone in the area searching for a great sandwich.

“Visited several times now. The star here is their Banh Mi Sandwiches, Vietnamese Coffee, and pastries. Don’t be afraid to ask for a recommendation. The cashiers are tuned into their selection and what other customers have to say.

Depending on what’s ordered the wait time isn’t bad for a small sandwich shop. I dined in each time I visited and found it to be a nice place to sit with earbuds in while I escaped the heat and enjoyed my sandwich and coffee.“
