“Too many coffee shops in the Springs to tolerate poor business practices. Your employees, including your manager, do not know how to make the box of Joe or do a refund? If that is in fact, true, it should be taken off the menu as you are setting your employees up for failure. Only one employee working Saturday at 9. The owner said I should have be tolerant because they are a small family business. Wow. Just shocked at his approach and this validated my opinion of a poorly executed business plan. I am very surprised you are still in business. You might want to invest in a real point of cell platform. If you have to go into the backend to do a refund that leaves you employees in a bind. Some additional training on customer service might be impactful as well. Some advice… Employees should not greet people when they walk in with… You’re just gonna have to wait. All of these. People are in front of you. That has the potential to make a customer who spent $57 online for your coffee. When you couldn’t produce, I requested a refund and was told by your employee that she doesn’t know how to do the refunds either. And then, I was told by the manager you had to go in on the back-end to get a refund. That’s ridiculous. At least invest in Square if you aren’t going to train your employees.“

“The staff was very kind and the atmosphere was cute. You can sit at a table or couch and play board games. There's also a separate work area. The bagels were large and delicious. It is walking distance from a park, so you can grab coffee and go sit in the park to enjoy. Highly recommend.“

“I didn't realize it when I bought it, but the scones I bought was frozen solid. I didn't expect it to be made in- house, but i did expect to be able to eat it while I was having coffee with my friend. Sneer offered to warm it up, but it would've tasted even worse after a round in the microwave.
The coffee was pretty good. Nothing to get really excited about. I'm not sure about the Hawaiian theme. There's nothing from Hawaii in the store, certainly not the coffee. It's just a franchise. If their store had some roots there, they definitely left after they decided to mass market the name. Nope it's just hoaky.
The stage was friendly. They were happy to serve me as soon as they were done chatting. I didn't have to stand at the counter looking at them for too long.
If you're in the area and want to grab a quick coffee, this is a good option. It's also a good choice is you want to sit down with a friend. But if you want something authentic or really good, you're gonna need to keep p looking.“

“I like the coffee and the almond croissants. Staff is very friendly. Something I don’t like, very slow and the place needs some maintenance, like chairs are broken and the bathroom. Add some more seating.“

“Great spot to waste some time on a weekend. Rico's has some great seasonal coffee options, my favorite being the white chocolate huckleberry latte. The checkout process is much more linear than it was in the past and their rewards program is worth signing up for. Their food options are solid for a quick bite. The quiche is packed with eggy/veggie goodness and a thin crust. The lemon berry mascarpone cake is glorious when allowed to sit at room temp for a few minutes. Soft and fluffy, there is a slight twang in the cake that balances the sweetness in the mascarpone filling.“

“The Mining Exchange hotel has a huge and comfortably decorated lobby. As such, the in-house bar (Golden Hour) and coffee shop (BLK MGK) has built-in seating in an organic fashion that encourages their patronage.

You don't have to be staying at the MX to go to BLK MGK -- it's perfectly acceptable to drop in off the street, and the place does have external signage to make that clear.

FOOD: We each had a drink and a breakfast nibble. My hot chai was not too sweet and nicely spicy. My wife enjoyed her cold brew drink.

The food was also good -- my wife's yogurt parfait was very enjoyable, and my quite large breakfast burrito was surprisingly good. I'm not sure how they manage to make things feel like fresh-made (certainly better than Starbucks zapping something), but they did a fine job at it.

SERVICE: The barista was friendly and patient, and found us at the far end of the lobby to serve our food when ready.

AMBIANCE: The MX lobby is both huge and stylish and comfortable, and whether your tastes run to bottomless comfy chairs or seats around a table you can find it. All a nice place to eat and drink.

NET-NET: Worth visiting (by foot) even if you are not staying at the MX. I'd definitely go back again.“
