“I've been looking for a place that really serves true Texas barbecue. This is the place! I had the smoked turkey, brisket, and texas sausage with potato sald and barbecue beans on the side. First thing I did was try each item by itself and without any sauces. The meats were tender and smoked just right! The beans were smoked and filled with sausage and brisket. It could've been a meal on its own. The potato salad was made from scratch with the skin still on the taters and it wasn't too mayonnaisey or mustardy. I chose the sweet and smokey sauce to start dipping some meats into and it was an awesome addition, not to overpowering. They gave a small container of a cheesy sauce to go with the turkey that gave it an added zing. I really liked it.
The atmosphere was a family reunion style with multiple types of seating. It wasn't as flashy as some places, almost poor boy like, but it felt homey to me.
The guys running this place were true Texas friendly, but not bothersome at all.
They have all kinds of drinks but I chose to wash back my food with good Ole fashioned sweet tea. Drank straight from a mason jar, it just added to the ambiance of the establishment.
This is the place to eat of you're from Texas like me and wanna feel a bit at home. Thanks Riot BBQ. Y'all did a great job!“

“I first heard about and went to Post Oak with my daughter and son-in-law last year and was surprised to find such great bbq here in Denver! It’s actually been a little while since I’ve been over there, but a new coworker who has recently moved to Denver and lives in Highlands, asked me about restaurants and I recommended you. He loves it! Recently I swung by to take the Post up on the fantastic coupon offer for a free pulled pork sandwich. It is quite a distance from where I live (Aurora), but definitely worth the drive. It was piled high with the tender pork and those wonderful onion rings! The side of fried okra completed the meal perfectly! Thank you so much for a great lunch (and dinner). See you again soon!“

The meat is always tender and flavorful (I typically get the pork and brisket) and honestly you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. They have six house-made sauces that range with any base you would want (mustard, vinegar, sweet, spicy, etc) I love being able to mix and match depending on what I order. Friendly service and consistently good food make this place my go-to when I’m craving BBQ in the city.“

There's a man with an apron, a Chinese cleaver and a big wood chopping block chopping away at pork, chicken and duck while loudly directing the other staff as they assist him. It felt nostalgic to me so I kept coming back and dined there twice while visiting Denver. I miss food with schechuan peppercorn. I like this over Star Kitchen which used to be my go to.“

“This is a pretty neat place. It's a collection of businesses in a neatly organized way. BBQ, concert venue/bar, t-shirt printer, woodworker, blacksmith, gym, and more. Real eclectic mix. Lots of colors on the buildings help make the space more inviting. Many of the buildings have super high ceilings with very pretty wood trusses; cool architectural feature.There's a parking lot that runs down the middle, in between the rows of businesses, and another lot on the south side.“

I ordered a local hazy IPA—super hoppy and refreshing—and caught the Knicks game on one of their big screens. Great energy, but not too loud.

I also tried the smoked burger, and it was honestly delicious. Juicy and full of flavor—just make sure to ask for it medium rare. They nailed it.

“The broths at this place are so good! I had the tom yum broth and was blown away by how delicious it was. My friends got the vegetable, seafood, pho, and the house broths and they too all loved their broths. The meats were delicious and fresh. There was a good amount of hotpot selection. The only downside to this place is the lack of staff. There were only 2 servers and 1 busser. They were slammed as it was Friday night but did their best to get you what you need. I recommend ordering your refill all at once instead of asking for 1-2 item at a time. We did big initial order and a 2nd round of refill and that was enough for the night. We all enjoyed our night so much! We left the staff a butterfly 🦋 gift.“
