Scheduling a delivery was easy. The Cake Bar had the order ready on time and then Nick delivered them to the venue. It worked great, was delicious, and was way more affordable than many other cake places I looked at.“

“I use to look forward to walking into this bakery. Now, since their move, they have lost their neighborhood friendliness & have an annoying system of only picking up bakery items by ordering online. They have lost me & have seen many others at the door being turned off.“

“We first learned of Spruce House Bread when Jeff (“the bread guy”) and his lovely family were passing out loaves of bread in our neighborhood. I don’t know if he was even selling them back then (this must have been 6 years ago)! The bread was delicious but I didn’t think much of it until I saw them selling their bread at a booth at a local market and I realized “wo, I can actually buy this amazing bread from these amazing people and know exactly where it was baked and who baked it”!

Now we order a couple loaves whenever we have a special event or just want to treat ourselves and it is ALWAYS worth it. Every loaf I’ve ever had from Spruce House Bread (and I’d say I’ve had a very fair sampling at this point) has always left me wishing I had more. Each person in my family has their favorite… my 8 year old who won’t eat spicy things told me hers was the jalapeño cheddar one and I was shocked - her brother confidently told me “it’s not spicy cause they take the seeds out”. Reader, I am not saying that’s true (I wouldn’t know the difference between a jalapeño and one of those ghost peppers) but when your youngest and pickiest eater tells you that her favorite thing is something you’d never thought she’d even touch… there’s something special here.“

“Been wanting to check out this bakeshop since it opened, and made it happen yesterday. Why did I wait to long to discover this gem; it'll be a regular stop for now on! Petunia is so much more than a bakery: coffeehouse, sandwich shop, bakery, breadshop, local hangout. I visited for a sandwich, for which I read very positive reviews. The menu seemed vegetarian oriented, and I found a well described turkey sandwich that I ordered on their sourdough bread. Wow! what a treat. delicious and healthy portion.

I couldn't restrain myself from going back to pick up some bakery for takeout: raspberry cheesecake and carrot cake, among the standouts for me. The craft and quality of excellent baking is not lost here. YUM>“

“Clean facility can see everything being created! The croissants were flaky. The fruit tarts were a little dry. The layered crepe cake was delicious. Enjoyed the local art that is available to purchase in the hallway. Parking is in back. Snow removal is very bad and very slick!“

“Ammonia reminds me of the Greek bakery in Chicago near where I was born 78 years ago. Its plain, unpretentious interior and hearing people speak Greek while enjoying their pastries and coffee give it a very warm charm for me. And they have the best spanakopita and yalaktaboureko.“

They are baked well and can have a crisp edge and softer center complemented by a copious dollop of frosting. On this occasion, we got the cookies and cream tres leches. It is delicious! “I previously had an issue with Cleanliness with staff and how they handled food. I got in contact with management, and he was very responsive, understanding and dedicated to fixing the issue. After a few threads of emails, Deklan (the manager) made it a point to express his concern with the service received as it reflects on his leadership and business practices. I was given a box of 4 cookies for free to make up for the mistake one of his team members made. He made sure it was understood amongst his team that the mistake couldn’t happen again, and communicated the resolution to me as well. I am very appreciative of the response time, leadership, understanding and kindness I received when I addressed a concern. I have never had a bad experience at this store otherwise and always love their cookies. I stop in at least once a week and my husband and I share some cookies without disappointment every time. The cookies are always extremely fresh, exactly as described, and stay fresh for several days in the box. I love that they have new flavors every week, and each week I add a new favorite to my list. John, the owner, stepped up to save the day after another bakery canceled last minute on a birthday cake I had ordered. With less than 24 hour notice, during a peek rush and on a weekend at that, I could not have been more pleased with what he put together for me. After explaining my situation and that it was for my partners 35th birthday party that was a little gay, little disco, little cowboy, I didn't expect anything more than an icing piped "Happy Birthday". Picture attached because he knocked it out of the park and words don't do it justice. Not only did the cake live up to the party theme (and then some) it was DELICIOUS and when he quoted me the price I couldn't believe how affordable it was.
