The yellow vegetable rice was also better than almost rice and you should give it a try! The fried plantains were perfectly sweet & just the right amount of chew. I got a super sweet 4 leches dulce dessert and a flaky buttery coconut pastry. The cafe bakery here is huge. Every item looks freshly prepared and likely to delight.“

I ordered 4 vegan desserts: 2 different styles of the Doorbell (Gina’s twist on a ding dong, get it?), 1 hardshell chocolate coated Twinkie-like dessert, and 1 white chocolate raspberry filled dessert.WOW. Gluten free, dairy free, nut free…FULL OF FLAVOR!!Gina was working the night we visited and she came over to chat with us at the pool table, offering samples of her vegan take on a rolo. “This place is a hidden gem! I had no idea there was a panaderia so close to me. Being from Texas, I missed the authentic Mexican bakeries we had around every corner and this definitely holds up. We got Conchas, empanadas, and candy. Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh. The prices were insanely reasonable as well. We will come back often. Please try this place out. “The Cookie Company is my go-to place for cookies; they never disappoint! I’ve been to their locations in Lincoln, Nebraska and this gem here at Southland's. Five stars all around! Their cookies are fresh, perfectly sized for any occasion, and these cookies will ruin all others for you- they are that amazing! The service is friendly and quick. The staff is knowledgeable about ingredients and are patient if you’re just not sure what one to try first. Why not just get both?! All their types of cookies are great (even the oatmeal raisin). Just follow that sweet mouth-watering aroma for your favorite cookie!“

“This is such an amazing bakery find!! They are open almost any hour of the day and are stocked up on everything no matter the time you go ( I have now been about 3 times). The prices are insanely reasonable, coming out to about $1-$4 per item depending on what you order. The goods are baked fresh daily (so you'll have to eat them within 1-2 days or keep things refrigerated), and absolutely delicious. I don't usually love panaderias because I find that most of the baked goods end up being too stale/hard (I prefer my breads a little chewier), but the breads here are amazing, even the conchas (which I've always disliked). Everything is fresh, tasty, not too sweet, with great texture. My favorite thing I've found here is their Quesadilla Salvadorena. It's almost like a cheesecake but cornbread texture? Hard to describe, but its slightly sweet and savory and makes for an absolute treat.“
“Always a fan of Nothing Bundt Cakes, I ordered 8 bundlets for a dinner party. When I got to the Southlands store, I asked the young ladies to please verify that my cakes were upright and that the frosting patterns were intact (because the pattern is so important to the presentation). When I got them home and unpacked them, I found that they were absolutely perfect!! I can't say enough good things about this place. Everyone there is welcoming and professional.“

“This place has some good looking sandwiches, there are super big! Lol they look light but filling! The pastries are pretty yet simple, they had a hashbrown pastry I wanted to try so bad lol I broke it open and it had ham in it. Smelled delish but I don’t eat ham. Haha“

“The store is bright and airy, the staff was very nice and helpful with suggestions on my visit. The grilled pork banh mi was fresh, crispy, crunchy, sweet, tart the whole gambit. I have to confess I ate the whole thing, so I got my sweets to go and haven't tried them yet. Oh I also had a flan Vietnamese iced coffee which has a flan at the bottom of the cup, coffee on top. It was very tasty, but a little chunky...maybe I should have eaten the flan at the end with a spoon instead of breaking it up with my straw?
