15 Best Bakeries in Lakewood

“Wow! I've seen this Danish bakery, and have wanted to try it for a while now. It's on the other side of town, about 30 minutes, with no traffic, and driving the highway. I have a brunch party tomorrow for which I'm tasked to bring dessert-y treats. So I came to Taste of Denmark to try it out. I've got some chocolate and hazelnut tarts and some rumballs. I also bought a freshly baked sourdough loaf and a caramel tart for Monday's breakfast. The baked goods all looked and smelled amazing. The almond croissant that I had with a cup of Dazbog coffee was simply the best example of this treat that I've had in the US. I am glad I have to go out of my way to come here, because if not, I'd weigh 300 pounds, easy. The staff, some of whom are owners and family, are friendly, helpful, and not in the least surprised at how everyone in the place was gushing about their products. I gave them 5 stars but it would be 10 if possible. Take the time to hit the search button on maps, and come to Lakewood/Bear Valley for a baked good, or twenty... it's well worth your time and effort. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday and they apparently sell out frequently, so... get there early and come hungry! And, Velkommen til Danmark!“

The staff is always incredibly friendly, and the donuts are consistently fresh and pillowy. If you haven’t tried their apple fritters or bear claws, you’re missing out—they are huge and perfectly glazed. It’s my go-to spot on Colfax for a quick morning treat and a solid cup of coffee. My Dad used to bring me to Winchell's after delivering the Denver Post on Sunday morning's. Sweet memories and sweet donuts. But now I can dunk in my coffee.. “Apologies this review is so late, I got married in July 2025 at Red Rocks and we wanted a simple 2 tiered cake reflective of Red Rocks. I believe the baker's name was Sarah, who was very kind and professional for each call and visit to the store. The consultation was quick and easy, sample portions are big and affordable. We showed a few inspiration photos for the cake but also gave free reign for her to be creative (and keep it simple). We absolutely loved our cake and it was so delicious! (The cake toppers were not provided by the bakery**) The cost for the cake and delivery were well below several other bakeries in the area and overall we were extremely pleased with our experience and cake.“
